What is IL-2 Great Battles?
The new generation of IL-2 Sturmovik titles is developed by 1CGS and is a combat flight simulator of the World War II era and carries on the tradition created by the original IL-2 Sturmovik first released in 2001. Sturmovik recreates the aircraft, their use in the war and the environment they flew in. This latest product is a successor of the classic IL-2 Sturmovik that was a leader of the sim genre for more than 10 years. The new IL-2 is true to the ideas born by the first title with an accurate representation of aircraft and famous WWII battles.

9:30 Great teamwork. Remember to use that to your advantage, and guide your wingmen into positions that will help you engage quickly. If you'd had him pull left instead, it would have avoided that difficult snap shot. Keep up these videos, great fun to watch.

A vote for more P-47 content from me! Single or multiplayer, more jugs. edit to add: Yeah, this is awesome. You guys' chatter and coordination made this super fun to watch. I'd love to see one like it with heavy roleplay, either in the moment or added on after instead of the "live" audio.

In Brazil, we have great respect for the P-47 due to its use by Brazilians during World War II. Also, it was a real tank, frequently hit by anti-aircraft guns and still flying and landing safely.

0:59 ; in answer to your question: I tend to enjoy watching IL-2 content and the way you show your flying in IL-2 is just very nice to watch in general. Flying IL-2 myself, it is fun to watch and think about how I estimate I may react in the situations that you encounter and also hear your ideas, as well as see how they work out. This is probably the best in single player LP's, but multi player is also interesting, so as far as I'm concerned: have a ball making more IL-2 videos if you feel like it :) While you're at it: feel free to fly the P-47 more often. I haven't come around really spending time it it, though I do find it a very interesting plane. For example given that it is, as far as I know the (fighter) AC in IL-2 allows for the highest number of axis inputs in game, I aim to have all (8) as axis inputs available so that I can all use them as such when I do get around to flying it.

I never really liked the p47 untill I bought a RC P-47, it flew like a dream and was a tank. After that I kinda grew a liking to them. The corsair is still my favorite plane of all time, nothing beats the looks of them IMO.

Any one familiar with the old "Battle of Brittan" game? I had it for my ancient Commodore Amiga back in the day, cutting edge at the time and decent graphics. Crude by todays standards for sure, but you could program your own missions, and the bomber simulations were a blast. Anyone know if there is a decent version of that game available for PC? I have seen a few, but they are no where near the quality of the Amiga version I had.

I've been toying with the idea of doing some MP in IL2 lately, but its kind of daunting. I can fly and land the planes just fine, do some average maneuvers and gunnery, but MEC is beyond me, I just plain don't understand it. Are full-real controls like MEC an absolute requirement for MP?

Engine management? Yeah, nearly every server has the full engine management system on so there's nothing automatic beyond what you'll find on the aircraft itself. The system is daunting at first but you come to learn it quickly. An aircraft like the P-47 is very complicated with a lot of different controls to manage. Other types like the Yak's, IL-2, Bf109, Spitfire and Fw190 are very easy to manage with at least some automation or relatively easy settings to work with.

Great video but the external sounds are just sad and anemic. I thought they had updated these by now. The external sounds in WW2 DCS are far superior, even if the content and gameplay aren't. Are there any mods in IL2 for this?

_Bruh..._ The P-47 was basically a slightly up-engined I-16. Not only were they both designed by Russians, the latter warbird, was, _in actual fact,_ just a riveted copy of the Brewster Buffalo.
