I found Vintage Grune the Destroyer figure for $8.00. Paint really worn. I want to repaint it to close to normal colors. Still works. It be my first restoration for painting a figure. I enjoy fixing o-rings GI Joe figure.
I just got an LJN Grune the Destroyer figure at a comic con for $25 dollars, but he's near mint and has his spiked mace. Just missing his spiked knuckles accessory. He's one of the best figures in the line.

Gi-Joe didn't really kill any toy lines. LJN were their own worst enemy, and since the He-Man creators went the route of the She-Ra cartoon, that helped to ruin MOTU, along with the Real Ghostbusters line and TMNT line that came out soon after.

What's funny these days is that things that should be pack-ins these days are either sold by themselves or are even the prize you get at the end of the wave. In the 6 inch Marvel Legends line, the comic book Rocket Raccoon was a build-a-figure that you had to buy about 4 figures to get him, and he was sold at the full $16-17 price in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie wave.
That backfired in 2009 with the "Build the Enterprise Bridge" gimmick in the Star Trek line. Whoops -- sales are bad so we canceled the rest. No complete bridge for ANYONE!
I'd like to give a little love to the Ma-Mutt figure they did for the Companions line. He looked amazing. Honestly, there's an argument that he's the best sculpted toy in all of Thundercats.
The clip of the cartoon in this video reminded me that I used to think that their pointed fingers always looked weird to me. Not really claws, just pointed fingers. Of course the action figures don't appear to have that detail.
Ah, the robo bears. Robot teddy bears that farm candy. I guess this was one of those "well everyone in the room said it was good" kind of things. I thought they were cute at least
I think Snarf gets a raw deal. He once took on Mumm-Ra to save the other Thundercats with nothing but a few animals! As for Tally Hawk, he and a mob counterpart whose name I can't remember both had large "role-play" sized toys in the original line.
I'm the odd man out, here. I always loved Snarf, and I was disappointed with the lack of an action figure. I had a Snarf straw-holder from either BK or McD to take the place in my toy line. But, as many others are saying, but the time the Snarf actual figure was released, I had moved on to GI Joe.

Wow, I never realized there were two different Wily Twins figures! I always learn something new from you guys( also, you got us fooled by that behind the scenes sneak peek) OK, now that just leaves us with Transformers and Silverhawks for Michael to say something positive about! ;)
Hated the TV show but the action figures were awesome. I remember my big Sister hit me on the head with my Slithe figure and i bled for hours, needed 3 stitches in the end. Great video as always guys.

I wasn't calling you a hipster, but making fun of hipsters. Also, the point of the "sigh" was that it is not a (as you said it) prerequisite for being an 80s fan. The purpose of my comment was just to poke fun at hipster children who like to think they are fans of a different time, just for the sake of liking something that isn't culturally relevant to their age group.

Yes was always disappointed with Lion-O's sculpt. I got the Wilykit and Wilykat pack ins which like you say were awful. By the time the Conpanions came round I think I moved on to GI Joe and other stuff.
Jumping jehosophat this was a great vid. I hated battle action takes away from the imagination. I noticed a sectaurs comic. One of my fav 80's cartoon can you do a video on sectaurs please

Weird cause they weren't very popular when I watched them. I never had an official action figure. I just liked the comic and (very short lived) cartoon series. I wanted a figure but too expensive.
I always hated how rare female figures were. I remember asking an employee at Children's Palace why they never had the Catwoman figure from Batman Returns and he told me it's because female figures weren't popular so they only pack one in a crate. Rogue from Xmen was also a pain to find.
I'd hate to say this but, you looked a little insane during that shoot, you had this "stabby stab stab" look in your eyes at moments during this. Maybe I'm just not use to seeing you enthusiastic about Thundercats. It's pretty funny. I noticed that of all the big old figures, it looks like one of the bad guys might have received the best treatment sculpting wise. Thundercats figures look oddly smooth and oily for their scale, it reminds me a little bit of the TMNT line. However, that lizardman (his name escapes me) looks like he has some decent detailing, He actually has texture, which really sticks out like a sore thumb, or maybe a well polished thumb on a hand full of sore fingers.
Yes, Slythe is an impressive figure as far as detail. As to my insane look -- I dunno. It might have been because this video had only snippets of on camera work so rather than having time to say something lengthy I was just saying a sentence here and there so I didn't have time to get into a tone.
I think anybody who dares to put themselves out there eventually has that moment where if someone froze the shot they'd either look dumb or crazy so I wouldn't sweat it too much.

Well first off, I said some nice things about the Silverhawks -- great design concept, great premise just poorly executed, beautiful toys (if lacking in function). As for Tigersharks -- oh how those haunt me. There's no easy way to watch the series and even less chance of owning the figures...so expensive.
***** Oh I know very well what youve said about the Hawk. I frequently watch your videos even though I've seen them and the Hawks are a favorite. I awiways crack up when Mike appears as an escaped Nazi scientist. As for the Sharks I remember the series briefly but didnt know about the toyline. Actually Mike this has me wondering knowing what you know about toys and their inner workings have you ever 'toyed' (no pun intended ) with redesigned a line? If so what? I dont meant seriously just goofing around not seriously though.
The Silverhawks would be up there on my list. Give them masks and better articulation. I'd redesign the Ghostbusters proton packs accessories. I'd redesign the arms of the Super Powers line. I'd give all Kenner Star Wars figures a usable left hand...
I never liked action figures when I was a kid I just bought Hot Wheels then I moved on to Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh cards. now I but anime figures but I don't know action figures always seemed a little cheesy to me I love 80's cartoons but the action figures just look off and it bugs me.
