I think there's a part where it exposes the heart of the thunderjaw. With 3 sharpshooter arrows, I think you could one shot it (if you have the best bow (banuk or shadow) and you have all purple damage coils)
I was even worser,level eight, didn't even been to olin's apartment,had just basic,fire arrows,in a simple Nora bow, tripcaster,rattler,and precision bow
There's also another trick that can be used to easily kill the Thunderjaw without even getting hit by him. Just go to the Sun Furrows Hunting Grounds and jump to the lower level of the hill (you can't shoot from the highest spot since it's a starting point for hunting trials). Then start shooting at the Thunderjaw located below. Use tearblast arrows to get rid of his disc launchers and cannons first and he won't be able to attack you. Even if he gets very close, there's nothing he can do from below (his only range attack left is laser sweep but it shouldn't hit you through the rocks). Just watch out for Ravagers and Watchers wandering around. Most of the time they will remain in yellow state and won't get close to you but occasionally one of them may get close enough to attack.
I got up on a rock, removed his disc launchers and cannons with Tear arrows, jumped down and hid behind the rock then lobbed blast orbs over the rock until he died.
I tend to only use arrows for thunderjaws. Shooting off one component after the other and seeing it's attacks change is really neat + cool battlesoundtrack.
Your level is maxed at 50, suggesting you're playing a lower difficulty then Normal, which caps at 60. The thunderjaw will have less health at lower difficulty levels.
Yeah but this isn’t any fun at all and provides no adrenaline rush. Play on hard difficulty with no aim assist it’s the perfect balance imo and doesn’t require ridiculous resource farming like ultra hard does.
@@chrisb1047 Gathering resources for this weapon was the most challenging part 😁 And for me it was pretty fun. Because it let me stay longer in this beautiful game. But yeah, second time I played on hard and indeed, it was perfect balance between the story and the gameplay.
honestly dont give a damn at this point. i keeo dying from this bad boy and now ik i can kill it with my tripcaster. its not that im a noob its that im level 9 and trying to kill it to get a shadow weapon. thanks for your help
I'm about 30 hours deep. And I've died at this thing for about the last 10. I've shot everything I have at it and it still doesn't die. I even blew it 2x with its own disc gun, nailed it down like 30x...What the heck else am I supposed to do. Idk how u kill it just like that. But I guess ill try this tactic. Smh level 13 rn with 1 shadow bow and a carja sling
@@love-ce5xq If you died to it for the last 10 hours then why do you keep trying? Get better gear and higher levels and try again later. The game even suggests that you shouldn't fight it before atleast level 27.
The first time o saw one of those I put so many wire traps down I think I used every resource I had. I think there was enough explosion to make GAIA be like that hurt.
Anyone else play Baldur's Gate 2? I remember doing the same thing there. You could kill a dragon (who wasn't initially hostile) by just laying 20 traps around him, then aggroing him. The moment he went hostile, boom, dead. Fun times.
Just freeze it with freeze arrows and then shoot it in its main component on its side or you can kill him with his own disc launcher by removing it with tearblast arrows.
LMAO Seriously? There was absolutely no fight. It's fun to fight them and with traps, tripcaster, & ropecaster it'll go quicker. A bit of both makes it fun. This move is just too quick. Clever but quick. I think the context in which the term "one shot" was used is lost on some folks. After watching I understand it to mean one attempt or one try.
My favorite way to take down thunder jaws is by setting up two electric trip wires before hand, then blasting off both his disk launchers with purple tear arrows to get it to chase me. Once it trips my trap, it stuns it giving me time to use the disk launchers. I only wish storm birds were that easy lol
I wanted to see just how strong a ravager gun was so i went on this long trek with that heavy thing and tried it on a thunder jaw. I personally like to have to run and dodge and all that stuff so i don’t think I’d use that or this option but u know, it you’re desperate for good parts then i guess do what u need lol
I dunno how others can keep their blast wires on same spot without it dissolving/disappearing... Coz when I do that, even with just 3 blast wires in one spot, it'll disappear in like under 15secs, such a waste of wires for preparation for battle especially when fighting those giants (thunderjaw, fireclaw etc), so I always make like a pattern instead and lure them on the spots I put the trap...
On the PC version Hard difficulty this doesnt work with 12 blast tripwires. But on Zeta cauldron I went kinda nuts and set up 12 blast, 6 shock, and 6 fire tripwires and full stock of blast, fire, and shock traps in that small area near the triangle you can hide out in and when TJ came at me and hit tripwires i threw in some freeze bombs then blast/sticky bombs and it died pretty quick 8)
I just completed that cauldron yesterday, on PC. I set up lots of shock and blast wires but also removed the disc launcher with a tearblast arrow. It's just fun to use their heavy weapons against them
@@dwheresmymana out in the world definitely agree using tearblast first to get disc launchers and front guns off - in the zeta cauldron I was trying to see if I could get it down so quick I wouldn’t even need to fight it 😀 great game though and disappointed I’m almost finished
Blast wires are so OP, love em' when im in a pinch or just dont feel like fighting for 5 mins. Btw im probably near the end and i am soo hooked on this game, damn, comes close to best ive played. Just sad it dont like to run on my pretty decent rig that runs most games like nothing. With this i got to play low settings. Wow im actually righting a poem, jeez Anyway i love Aloy, such a sassy and cute character, well lets just say goddess
I mean, it falls both ways. This isn’t a shot at all, to credit one side of the coin, but you also CAN’T one shot a Thunderjaw, to credit the other side. Best you can do is three shots, and even in that, it’s 3 shots with 3 arrows per shot. And that takes the Banuk Powershot or preferably the Adept Powershot, with the right mods, and definitely playing in a NG+ build, and catching it in both disc launchers and then the radar or canisters or another important component. That can be done; that’s the only reason I even bother fighting Thunderjaws anymore.
That was me in the Frozen Wilds DLC when the demonic thunderjaw showed up. Like hell i'm gonna fight this thing fairly, choke on my 6 million traps bitch !
not really a one shot but with the Ice rail gun from frozen wilds it‘s possible in normal difficulty. if you hit the thunderjaws weak spot you can do bout 4k damage with one shot or more… tried it yesterday and one shotted a frozen rockbreaker with 5600 damage on the weak spot. pretty fun that weapon is mental…
I just need 3 blast wire to take down the thunderjaw Difficulty(story New Game +) (adept tripcaster with 3 unique damage coil N 1very rare damage coil) U can get the unique mods at The Frozen Wilds
Follow These Steps to kill Thunderjaw Step 1: Put Three arrow on Step 2: shoot the weakness Step 3: DONT BE A SCARDY CAT AND HIT THE THUNDERJAW WITH HER AXEEE or follow this guy vid
