In this video I take a look at the noise reduction circuit (NRC) on the Thunderpole T-X hand held Citizens' Band Radio transceiver.
This is the first in a portable radio and really did impress me.
Enough for me to buy a radio, I don't really need.

Yes I have always hated when people swear on radio, I'm no wall flower as I was a Welder for a few Decades and heard it all🤐

It really does seem with what I have bought and tested in 2023 Manufacturers are getting things right now.

@@m0ogy True. It works much better now. But the cb radio's now need a better one. They are far more noisy then the old (f/i) Uniden boards. It sounds good. Wish there would be more handhelds with am/fm/ssb

@@xszl Very true and I did have a Magnum 1012 prior to launch over a decade ago with SSB .It Thunderpole or whoever could make one as good as this (why not??) it would sell in proper big numbers

Hi Dave, thanks for all the videos. Glad to hear you are a bit better. I’ve just received my thunder pole tx today, I’m sat out in the garden listening to a contact in Tennessee coming in loud on ch29 EU AM. I live near Driffield in east Yorks. Amazing. 😮

I had a fellow AT Friend here today and was listening 38 LSB, it was wide open on the George II, sadly that busy didn't film it

I'd like to know how many have sold, but nobody knows/is letting on, up to pres seems to be the radio of choice for 2023 for hand portable use, If I do ever decide to sell (highly unlikely) I will let you know....cheers Dave 🙂

I have never made contact with anyone using this radio yet 😂 My question to you Dave I'm getting mixed reports about taking this radio to Tenerife. I'm sure it's a legal multi norm CB radio so using the EU side should be fine, also Tenerife is part of Spain so surely it's allowed. The only thing that's got me thinking is we are no longer in the EU however using legal equipment in a country should be ok or am I wrong

Hello Daryn, long time, no hear. As it is a CEPT multi-norm radio , I can't see there been an issue taking it. I'm not sure with regarding batteries and airlines, saying that it only has a similar battery to a mobile phone Go for it I would say. Dave 🙂

@@m0ogy cheers for the reply Dave, I still lurk around in the background watching your vids. I've been really busy the last few years with building projects and work keeps me busy as well. I now have my own garden pub and building a three band fan dipole as we speak. Looking forward to getting back on the air

Hi I’m new to CB one question I have should you use NRC with 0 squelch the manual is useless at explaining but often pick things up with interference then in scan mode get nothing as auto squelch and squelch seem daft
