Genuinely speaking. Thunivu is that one movie that I've been waiting to see ajith in ever since Mankatha, Arambham, YA !!!

This is how a review should be...less wordy and commenting on the notions of the director. Reviewing a cinema is different from story narration of the cinema. BR does good reviewing

One good change I see in Tamil cinema in last few years is that filmmakers don't care if the heroines are married, or divorced, or above age 40, or mother of grownup adults, as long as the females are maintaining their appearance well, and can do justice to the role. The directors moved from old drama type love stories and they started defining female characters without so called love interest in top actor movies. It's really a great change and should continue

Those who watches Baddy’s regular reviews knows that this is actually quite a good remark from him for a mass big hero film.

With every review BR does, there's a tiny bit of his flavor he adds- which is so unique to his reviews.. like the IIT bit and the social media consumption bit in Varisu review.. love it!

But Ajith did a wonderful job. Only few directors can pull-off some great performances from Vijay & Ajith, SJ Surya, KS. Ravikumar, Ar Murugadoss, Lokesh Kanagaraj, H.Vinoth.

Except some logical error thunivu is good.. What I feel is vinoth just wanted to stay on the core story so he avoided the relationship between ajith and manju..

I feel like quoting the tagline of Alien vs. Predator for the clash between Vijay and Ajith: “Whoever wins… we lose.”

The movie deserves to be watched for Ajith's and Manju Warrier's swag. I was expecting him to speak about how flawless Manju Warrier did those kickass gun fights.

Ajith has actually tried something new in this movie and he succeeds at it with a Swag. Always a fan of your review 🎯

Another thing in Thunivu is the other characters like Dharshan & Maipa had some memorable parts in the movie.

BR.. I think this is a good movie overall. With the directors intentions clear right from his first movie, he has kept that approach of making a movie catering the message across. It has been well crafted. Dodging bullets is a norm these days... So let's leave it aside. Otherwise this is a well layered movie.

So as u say Thunivu is the blockbuster

With some flaws Thunivu won pongal .. fast and engaging movie …treat to watch Ajith sir comeback swag the movie suits well for him

I think Baddy watched Varisu first. I can understand the frustration carried over to the second review. However, liked both the review!!!

Been following BR since The Hindu - Friday Review column where he writes a movie review almost every week. The class he has is unmatched till date by any other critic. Atleast Ajith is trying to make different genres unlike Vijay. That’s it!

I don't know what more we can expect. it was absolute treat for even a common movie lover. This movie gives lots of information about present situation. You have no idea how bank scams happen and they will be in safer side. but end of the day it's common people who wil suffer . Instead of spreading fake reviews just be honest to your self. Because movie is literally excellent . Mr. Ajith nailed it as a one man show. One of the best movie from Tamil industry. Love from Karnataka ❤️

Pls do watch thunivu it's a wonderful action movie with beautiful message ❤️ 😍 pls don't watch local channels reviews because few youngsters only need badass movie like rolex characters but ajiths acting n his msg have worked out really outstanding 😍😍❤️❤️

If the fans keep on encouraging these kind of attempts then this will continue! Mr.Vinodh can deliver a better movie to Mr.Ajith. Vinodh’s brilliance is under-utilised in last two movies. The jewellery shop theft scene in Sadhuranga vettai is enough to argue that this bank heist action movie fails its purpose. Excluding Ajith’s getup, poor first half and below average 2nd half. Expecting a massive comeback from both Vinodh and AK!

The problem with BR is he approaches and reviews a mass hero film as an art film. When go into a Rajini or Ajith movie, we enter the theatre with the idea of having fun for 2.5h. If the movie is interesting enough with a small message, it's a bonus. When you eat ice cream, you know it's not healthy but you know you'll enjoy it. You can't apply logic and common sense when you go to buy ice cream. You bought the ice cream so now you tell us how it tastes and not how unhealthy it is.

Understood that the movie feels rushed through , but been a while since we have seen AK in a vibe ( last was Mankatha ) .. go ahead and watch - racy entertainer

I feel that, hard hitting statements about mutual funds, banking system and nail- biting interview scenes (which we always dreamt of- asking the criminal at gun point the reasoning of his actions) made me to care tooooo little about those million bullets slipping away and connection between Ajith n Warrier..! Btw on point interview..!

I am not an Ajith fan but I LOVED Thunivu🔥 Forget the logic and enjoy the ride. Sometimes it's not good to take a "movie" seriously, that's what Vinoth said in a recent interview. The whole point is to imbibe the message and enjoy the film while we're at it.

definitely Vinoth looked totally stressed out like he was going to write the IIT or IIM exam.

I just watched the film, man I am not sure why so many negative feedback . The movie is so f gr8 and the vintage Ajith is back ..

I watched both the movies and To be honest , I didn't like both the movies but thunivu was better in some areas but the songs and the backstories made that movie average and I did not liked one bit of vijay movie it was like seeing a serial on bid screen .

Baddy, Kindly have a post release interview with H vinoth, ask him about the climax and flaws which you felt. I dont want an interview only appreciating him even though the film worked well for me.

1st half- money heist 2nd half- sarkarivari patha But compared to sarkarivaripatha thunivu second half intersting and very good ending

For the first time after Mankatha seeing the same swag. Worth the watch in theatres🔥🔥🔥. No matter if the movie is good it will run no one can stop

Now, having watched the movie on OTT , I must say this is one of the most disappointing reviews - why can't BR just say there is NO story, NO screenplay, and nothing is coherent. Why should BR justify that there is NO story by raking up an interview given by the director. The movie review channels are now doing way too much interviews and there could be reasons for treating movies so lightly. For me THUNIVU is one of the worst movies of the decade.

Just like Valimai, Vinoth once again comes up with a relatable story, fails to develop an engaging screenplay, the first and second halves are so unconnected, the direction too wanders here and there, but the good thing is that the movie moves at a rapid pace, which also happens to be the weakness, as one finds zero emotional connect with the proceedings. The climax action episode really reminded me of BEAST, unreal and over the top. I really wanna see that Theeran kinda Vinod, rightly mixing the action and emotion.

I guess BR is happy watching thunivu as he is dissapointed watching varisu

Laughing at IIT comment, completely discrediting the people who got through.

Thunivu really worth to watch considering ajith swag and engaging throughout. Actions scenes were quite absurd with lead pair being invincible and few scenes rushed which is hard to follow. Other than that it's a great watch

Stars like Vijay & Ajith are beneficiaries of the low standards they set. After one ordinary movie, if they even make a slightly better one, it's celebrated. As long as their fans and we as an audience don't demand better, we will continue to get only these kind of movies.

In Valimai, group of bikers kill and steal but in the end with "Mother's" love everything is solved and they are unpunished. Here Ajith shoots and kills cops but due to him being potrayed as an Anti_Hero he is not held accountable. Honestly expected better from Vinoth

Atlee, Lokesh Kanagaraj are masters of doing big-star movies. It is an art. KS Ravikumar used to do it smoothly in yesteryears.

THUNIVU BLOCKBUSTER ENTERTAINER..

Watched Varisu first. Came out with 100% satisfaction. Thunivu was okish something was missing in climax

After watching the movie was wondering, "Where is the gap when there is such a big budget, powerful performers, great technicians like Nirav Shah, and a well-researched story, One wonders if the editor and director don't sit together and speak during the movie cut process or they don't have the planned script sequence ready when they are shooting, that they miss shooting and finally edit off due to lack of continuity. The single-phrase experience of Thunivu was after 10 months of excitement, 120 minutes of labor pain, (expecting a refreshing walk out from the Cinema with the way the first half was shot, rather came out with a badly attempted top gun maverick-like climax scene) only to know that operation was a success (commercially) but the baby is stillborn (Missing logics in most of the second half fights ). Walked all the way to the top of the Mountain only to fall flat on the face without hoisting the flag.

There's lot to be entertained but BR is sad about AK&Manju's relationship. And the bullets bit, does he even have same opinion for Hollywood action movies?

Movie expectations was very high but it did not fullfil everyone. I felt like the screenplay was too fast in first half like watching HARI movies. AK swag and mannerism worked well and that made everyone to sit in the seat. H. Vinoth need to engage people with his story telling and screenplay like his first two movies. In his first two movies every scene feels relieastic but here I did not felt that. H. Vinoth puts his hard work but it didn work well with AK. Many fans are comparing ak villanism like mankatha but i will say it is different kind of villanism. Vinayak Mahadev is epic. Thunivu is average film from H. Vinoth

I've seen the full interview. Not sure about what I'm going to say. But this is what he's trying to explain: He'd like to create the world with full of informations i.e., details. Than he'll throw the story and let it shape by itself. More like GRRM works!!!

Your narration in English ; extraordinarily superb. Excellent explanation. English is an asset for you sir. Most of them don't know to speak English cristal clearly. Struggling for vocabularies while giving an interview.

Sometimes I feel like asking "Eppa, ippa idhu suthuma suthaadha" like the lady in indru netru naalai

Screenplay doesn’t mean u run the movie in fast forward and say the movie is pacy, so its a good movie. We have to connect and get involved inside the movie so that we shouldn’t feel the time running atall. Thunivu surprise me at the beginning but then turned into a bored masala template.

Enough of H VINOTH now thala Ajit should work with some other director like lokesh kannagraj

Why even add songs in a heist movie? Thunivu was way better off without songs. Thunivu is a solid movie, but one time watchable.

Thunivu and Varisu both KUPPAI... Vijay and Ajith will never aim for anything bigger other than staying in their comfort zones.. better to just leave their movies to their fans. Neutral ppl shouldn't even go to these movies .. ENOUGH is ENOUGH.

Movie was a grippy screenply that help us to hurry up in first half and second half good much to see awareness message in bank fraud and then climax was like Hollywood level but it's not worked yet because of logic mistakes that for general audience review

This fellow played to the gallery about PS making and dialogues and did say nothing about audacious jump cuts there and here he complains the same. Who knows this material might be 3 volumes which HV has to cut it thru to make a film or who knows Conversations with MR may have a sequel. BTW am Neutral not an Ajith Fan!

Stars can’t work with good directors, because they get involved in script work and what not, they just want to impress fans rather than creating something wonderful

He’s is completely wrong about mutual funds. Not all companies are eligible for mutual funds especially no!!!suitcase companies. But a thing about agreement is right. Moreover I didn’t expect these inaccuracies from Vinoth. But movie is good minus logic, actions and flashbacks.
