I was having trouble putting my foot into the cavalier but when I bought my shoe horn all the problems went away immediately. I also had the dukes but I gave those away since the pull tab was annoying me. Overall 10/10 for the cavalier for me, good price for a quality pair of boots.
Mine arrived two days ago. I like a looser fit and have a wide foot so ordered true size. I was alarmed when I had difficulty getting my foot in. Finally got in, and was surprised to have a good fit after the initial drama. I need one of those shoe horns!
I've had the Cavalier boots in black leather for a while now and overall I'm a big fan. My number one gripe has been how easily the black dye came off the outside edge of the heel and sole. I can even see the brown spots on your boots as well. Relatively simple fix but still not something I've experienced with more expensive brands (or even other Thursday boots of which this is my 4th). Overall great boots and I'm sold on no pull tab chelseas.
Hey Jason! Thanks so much for your support. We make our boots with leather-wrapped heels so every now and then you may need to touch up the heels and edges. It will help if you apply some heel and edge polish. Feel free to contact us if you have any concerns!
How is the creasing on your leather ones.? I love the suede shadow look but I also love the leather shiny look. But i feel like creasing will be terrible with the shiny leather
If it's going to be the cavalier then its going to be the shadow grey for me. I really loved the look and the shade of grey on the boots. I agree with you if you have to choose one then the choice would be the cavalier but if you can i would suggest buy one of each.. the cavalier and a pair of duke too. Both are great options.
@@BootSpy Damn they lose their shape that fast? Isn't that indicative of a cheap shoe? Another thing how is the opening at the top I like a Chelsea with a snug opening not loose.✌️
Can you please provide guidance on the black leather cavalier? - Largest concern is whether it is able to resist water - Does it hold up or will socks get wet?
The lack of pull tabs on these Chelsea boots is fine. You can invest a small amount of money in a good shoe artisan, and he will add these tabs. Also, I like your review video about the cavalier style. I recently reviewed the Thursday online store and wondered which boot to choose, but now I want my first Thursday boot to be the cavalier.
What do you recommend for care/cleaning? This will be my first pair of truly nice boots once they arrive and I want to make sure they’re taken care of. Excellent video!
If you've got the suede, then a suede brush and eraser are the way to go. You can also spray on scotch gard if you want to weatherproof them. I don't, but it's an option.
How do the cavaliers fit compared to the dukes? I have several pair of the dukes (and find a difference even between the duke 1.0 and 2.0), so I was curious if the cavaliers fit like the duke. I like Thursday boots, but the sizing has been a nightmare for me, with sizes varying between lines and even within lines (at least what I've found). Thanks for your time.
🤓...I was on the Fence about Purchasing A Pair Thursday Cavàlier Chelsea but after watching your Review about to Order a Pair and as the No PullTag to Me it's No Problem because Uses I my Long Handel Shoe Horn...
I don't like the look of the tabs, but not everyone has a shoe horn handy, especially out of the house. Edit: I ordered a black leather Cavalier, and all I do to put on/off is pull back the heel a bit. It stretches enough for me to fit my foot inside with ease.
Hate the pull tab. I always cut them off of my Beatle boots. For that reason, however, I advocate FOR the pull tab. Some people like them, and I can just cut them off. Who’s going to notice?
still boggles my mind why make shoes and then tell people to order a half size smaller when you can just make your sizes match the right size from the get-go. I just bought a size 10 and its too big, now i have to return them and waste my time. Many brands do this and it just makes no sense to me.
My biggest question is how is the creasing ? I have a leather pair of Chelsea’s and they crease almost instantly and it’s very bad for my ocd. Not sure if it’s the quality or just the leather. (They aren’t Thursday brand) cheap H&M brand.
Cheap leather on the HM boots will crease immediately because it’s crappy leather. The better quality the leather, the less creasing. Also wholecut shoes, like chelsea boots, will crease more than something like a captoe as the captoe part helps add structure to that part of the leather. Also, your foot size and gait will impact creasing too
@@WD.909 thanks for the reply. I went and bought the Thursday’s in hopes it was infact the crappy leather making the ones I have now crease instantly. They will be here Wednesday so I’m looking forward to the better quality
@@dusdincobain1191 Get shoe trees. They are a MUST for any shoe that you want to minimize the creasing on. Boots, dress shoes, heck, even expensive sneakers, put a shoe tree in them!
I had to order a full size down even at their recommended half size down it was to much room in the shoes. I'm a 8 in sneakers I got a size 7 and I still have a little room.
Love their boots and shoes. As of now I have 2 pairs executive shoes, 2 pair scout chukkas, 1 pair cavalier chelsea, 2 pairs of boots for the wife, and as soon as I get my moneys worth out of the J&M grey chelsea boots I will buy a shadow grey pair of the cavaliers. One thing that I did NOT like, is the color of the elastic that was used on the cavalier dusty color. Way too dark compared to the boot. Stands out and distracts from the clean design of the chelsea.
