I thought the theme was pretty simple, for a Thursday. But I also thought that some of the fill was a little tougher than the typical Thursday.

This being practically the second most important date to a Crossword Puzzle Solver (the other being December 21). I had declared DDAY to be the very first answer I entered into a grid, some 47 years ago. Ever since then DDAY (as well as STLO, CAEN, LST, OMAHA, etc.) showing up so many times. How many times, DDAY, since June 6, 1944 in an eight-decade period? I think we have to find out this.

I once bought a Valentines Day card that had the following poem: “If you kiss your honey, when your nose is runny, you may think it's funny, but it’s snot.”

Sorghum is a grain similar to millet or corn (the plant looks a lot like a corn stalk). In yesterdays puzzle we learned that barley is the fourth most widely grown grain, sorghum is the 5th most widely grown world wide. It's native to Africa where it is a staple grain in many regions.

Too sublime. Hated it. Obscure stuff and stop the pop culture garbage.

I read "Everything is Illuminated" but my head thought of "Everything Everywhere All At Once" which explains why I couldn't make the connection to the Shtetl. Now it makes more sense. Hah. Both were great movies.
