CJ didn't take a break because he was tired, dude was battling with drug addiction and some other issues. If you use a proper screaming technique, you don't need to take extended periods of rest, just warm your voice up before using it and make sure you do it properly.
Nah man :/ seen Thy Art Is Murder multiple times with CJ in Belgium but loving to see this gig online, great sound and vid quality so i'm not satisfied with only one song on youtube lol =D
Vocals sound so much better, more... dirty, I don't know how to describe it. But you can tell CJ hasn't been really doing much, packed on a little weight. Hope the live shows bring a reason to get up and physically challenge yourself man. GOOD TO SEE YOU BACK UP ON STAGE ULTIMATELY THOUGH.
Stay Metal Ray fuck, I agree. Saw him a few years back on the tour with Parkway & he fkn blew me away. Never seen them live & wasn't really wanting to, but damn...lol my jaw was on the floor. Funny guy too
As someone who's never heard this band before today, might I just say, "holy fucking shit." Where has this been all my life? Much like Meshuggah and Whitechapel, these guys sound EXACTLY like the record! That dude's vocals are AMAZING!
always have the utmost respect for a man that realizes the errors of his was and takes responsibility for himself like CJ did. glad he's in a better place now. this performance is insane. the vocals and the instrumentation are as tight as can be. The deathcore scene needs bands like you guys. keep. stay heavy. bring the noise. looking forward to the next album and hopefully more after that. peace.
Alvaro Sykes completely different vocal styles, Luke is more there with Dan Watson and Ben Duerr who do a lot of technique and finesse with their vocals, but CJ and Alex Shikolai/Terrible are definitely the most brutal ones purely down to the fact its all death growls/pure aggression and hate. Love all these vocalists though
Easy one of the best deathcore live performances ever. It doesn't just sound like the singer hits one single note all the time, but he really screams the words (well, most times at least).
Damn CJ sounds like a Beast!! Kinda reminds me of when Danny from AA left and then came back and sounded like a complete legend! Great to see CJ back!!
The ones they speak of fight amongst themselves. They sit outside of the war, so they think. The one that all are fighting for has his mark above their heads on stage, they're part of the war they mock. The ones who follow the King of Glory fight for Him in their hearts, Vengeance belongs to Him, Vengeance is His Name. He stands above all powers on the Earth. He made hell for His purposes. Fear Him, not hell, war, death or man.
The memories man, I remember seeing CJ walk out unexpectedly and the place went fucking crazy! Hands down one of my favourite concert experiences, Unify was a different kind of animal pre pandemic.
OH MY FUCKING GOD! cant wait to see you guys in Budapest. I hope i can meet Andy to dedicate my spring cover of my guitar. I thought i never see Thy Art Is Murder Anymore with CJ, unfortunately i doesnt seen them the last time. BUT HERE COMES THE GOD!
