This is a basic installation video. It does not show all the steps needed. Please follow all the instructions when installing a stair lift no matter the brand.

james myers We've been installing them on the side for several years. My (guy in the video) actually has one in his house now. He doesn't use it much but it will be useful in the future because his only bathroom is upstairs. Thanks for watching. Something a little different.

There is not to much to installing that stair lift but has to be done correctly for safety. No short cuts. Thanks

This one was a used chair that we removed and reinstalled so some of the smaller details are missing. But there still isn't too much involved. We can be finished in 2 hours. Thanks for watching.

Hi, I am not sure if you are still checking comments, but we are having a hard time getting the car(chair) onto the track.... Have no idea what we are doing wrong. We purchased through a GoodHealth Will and have looked online for a manual, but cannot find one. It is a Thyssenkrup SL47 Citia. We have the track secured down the stairwell, and can slide the car onto the track, but once the gears meet with the gears on the track, it won't budge. Thanks for your reply if you have any suggestions!

I'm constantly checking messages. No problem with you contacting me. The first thing that comes to mind is that the batteries aren't charged. when you slide the chair on the top and the wheels go into the track, the gear on the chair will come in contact with the gear in the track. You then need to have the controls powered up. Just hit the down switch. if it does not run then the batteries are not charged. Look for the green light when it's hooked up. If you are getting power then maybe a pressure switch is being accidentally pushed. When you slide the chair on the track you have to be careful not to damage the switch under the motor. If all else is failed you can still manually move the chair down the gear. You have to remove the cover from the foot rest and it should expose the main shafts in the motor. You can safely hook a drill to that and it will slowly move up and down the track.

Nice clean install. Is it totally battery dependent or does it use household electric and use the battery as a back up? Looks good guys.
@Cobrafanatik22
@Cobrafanatik22 9 лет назад
This model is battery dependant. It is plugged up and the chair must sit at the top or bottom in order for it to charge. If the chair is left midway or doesn't come in contact with the charging strips then a beep will sound after a few minutes.

Hi, thanks for this video. I have the same and I would like to change the batteries but I have not found how to open it to change them. Should the seat be removed from its rail? How to open it? Thank you
@Cobrafanatik22
@Cobrafanatik22 4 года назад
I do not believe the seat chassis would need to be removed from the rail. You should be able to access the batteries after the seat and panels on the chassis is removed. You may have to remove a plate retaining the batteries in place. Would take about an hour to replace.

Good morning ! Thanks for the video, could you fill me in? I see that the charging stations cannot connect in the same way on my grandmother's, and it does not charge any more. Could you tell me if your 2 charging stations have a + and a - each on the same connection? Thanks to you.
@Cobrafanatik22

Thanks for watching. Both charging points (top and bottom) will have a negative and positive contact. Make sure your points are contacting the strips. Over time, things can become worn. Also, these batteries typically only last 3 to 4 years and will need replaced.

I hope you can help! We just removed one of these from a house and installed exactly the same in our house. We plug everything up and hit up with the control and then it just starts beeping. I noticed you had two charging strips at the top!? This one only had one on the right side of looking up at it. Is this my issue we are missing one somehow or a different issue? We don’t have an led light, but like you told somebody else it might just be bad.

Cobrafanatik22@aol.com. send me some pictures of the charging strips and we will communicate through email if that is ok.

Who can I contact to make repairs on my chair lift? Mine stopped and I can't get it started again. It is not the batteries. I heard a grinding noise and it stopped in the middle of the track. How do I move the chair to the top or bottom of the rail?
@Cobrafanatik22
@Cobrafanatik22 8 лет назад
You can contact the manufacturer online. They have installers located in several different areas. It sounds like the emergency stop switch has been activated and it slams two teeth into the track and forces it to stop. If you take off the front cover of the chair (the cover covering the bolts that are used to bolt on the foot rest) you will see a shaft. it may be hex head or it may be square like a socket extension. That shaft is the center shaft of the motor. You can hook a drill up to it and drive it backwards. Once you move it backwards the emergency stop may release. Most of the time so meting has jammed in the gear teeth when that stop is activated. I hope this helps.

How to charge the chair if its not on the track
@Cobrafanatik22
@Cobrafanatik22 5 лет назад
You will need to remove the batteries from the chair and put them on a portable battery tender/charger. Or replace the batteries if they have any age to them.

Can i charge batteries in my stair lift 2 big black battery make bruno ....?

I'm confused by your question. Not sure what you are wanting to do
@Cobrafanatik22
@Cobrafanatik22 8 лет назад
+Mario Canzanese A battery supplied stair lift will have two black batteries inside wired together to the unit. They will need to be connected to a charger or they will go dead in a matter of days.

I've just installed one myself and the gears are almost at the bottom of the track but not all the way so the battery won't charge. Can you tell me how to release them once it is already installed??
@Cobrafanatik22
@Cobrafanatik22 9 лет назад
There is a max amount that the gear can set off of at the bottom. It won't hurt it if the gear is all the way down. The part that makes it charge are the contact strips. There is a stop on the track that stops the chair. If it is in the wrong place then the chair won't stop on the contact strips. If it is sitting on the strip then I'm going to guess and say that a wire is unhooked. Is the alarm beeping when you rest the chair to the bottom? Is it charging at the top?
@Cobrafanatik22
@Cobrafanatik22 9 лет назад
The gears aren't going to affect the way it charges. If the gears are set too high then the chair will run off of them. As long as it goes to the bottom and the stop strip trips the switch, it should be charging as long as the charging contacts are on the contact strips.
@1tubehaydn
@1tubehaydn 9 лет назад
The battery has gone flat just before the bottom and the points aren't reaching the contact strips so it can't recharge. Wondering how I can get it to hit the strip as it is only an inch or two away. I can't seem to move the chair manually to see if the contact strips at bottom are working. Can I push it to the top where I know the strip works?
@1tubehaydn
@1tubehaydn 9 лет назад
It does a constant beeping when turned on and I assume that means the battery is flat. It was all working fine when we moved it here. Thanks for your advice.
@Cobrafanatik22
@Cobrafanatik22 9 лет назад
The beeping is there because it's an alarm when the chair is stopped and it isn't on the contacts to charge the battery. It doesn't mean the battery is dead. If you installed this exact chair there is a plastic off white stop that is about 2 inches long on the top and bottom of the track. That stop does not have pre drilled holes on the track and there is a measurement in the manual where that stop is supposed to be screwed to the track. That stop triggers a switch that makes the chair stop. I want to think it was 2 & 1/16" from the bottom. Can't remember exactly. If you are certain the contacts aren't touching the charging strips then that stop needs to be moved lower on the bottom. Sound right?

Is it hard to get batteries for this lift??
@Cobrafanatik22
@Cobrafanatik22 7 лет назад
No. We have a place here local that is called "Battery Mart" and they can get any type of battery. If you don't have any place like that to go to then you should be able to order them from a battery place online. Just going to cost extra on shipping because of the weight. Thanks for taking the time to watch the video.
