I think it is a stretch for the knee joint. Dynamic stretching is recommended for preworkout, and static stretching is recommended for postworkout.

+Sean Cavey By that measure it should've happened to an overwhelming majority of the competitors. The barbells are designed to withstand punishment, and the point of impact is cushioned to begin with.

+Sean Cavey it is only disrespectful when someone told him that there is a group of people in the world who really care about this supposed bar etiquette and it will greatly disturb this group of people if he keep dropping the bar in their presence, but he does it anyway. Besides, will these etiquette exist if a standard elecko bar cost $10 instead of $1000? I don't think these athletes even know the price of an olympic bar considering their government and sponsors probably give enough free bars to them to last a life time.

First with bands, stretch out those un-used muscles, then try with a bar

a lot of thoracic mobility. Plus they have weightlifting shoes on that helps with elevation, thus making it easier.

Rolling around the shoulder blades and traps with a lacrosse ball or peanut and foam rolling the length of the lats will temporarily improve your range of motion overhead a ton. If you want it to last, start gradually adding load to those ranges. Maybe clean grip over head squats? Clean grip snatches?

Genetics make it look smooth lol?! it's technique, they have huge warm up sessions to refine their technique before building up the weight. Same amount of discipline as their diving team.

TheGoToGuy01 I think it's the transition and timing. During the clean, the weight and him bottoms out at the same time, a lot of lifters bottoms out and the weight drops onto their shoulders which puts them off balance.
