Testing parameters were done at about 200' elevation.
Additional information:
I used the pilot jet that the carburetor came with (pretty sure it's a 40 but it's not marked and not a standard Kiehin style jet), a 115 main jet, the needle clip was put into the next to lowest clip position on the needle, fuel bleed screw about 2 turns out (yours may need to be different). IMO, this Tianfeng carburetor starts, runs, and performs well on the XR150L. Some minor modifications are necessary (replace the throttle cable, etc...)
More videos about this are coming soon.

Fantastic news you seem to like this setup . I just received the 222cc cylinder , the parts look of very high quality even a coated piston . We well soon need some carburetor setup for the 222cc iteration and still possibly a new head and cam . Thanks

I do like this setup for how we use our bikes most of the time. The factory Keihin carburetor is probably better for people who do a lot of hill climbing and other very low rpm trail stuff. The PZ30 adds a lot of "punch" everywhere else in the RPM range. Like most things in motorcycling, it's a trade-off. I am making a "ride along" video now that includes it's down sides.

I have also ordered another carburetor that I plan to use for testing on the big bore kits also. We may do a 64.5mm big bore kit (the one with the camshaft) and the 70mm big bore kit from scooter swap shop on our 2 bikes for comparison.

That's coming out very soon. In short, it's pretty darn good on a XR150L (but not flawless).

I am happy with it. It won't be right for everyone, but it is for us. More specific details (the good and the bad) are coming soon.

It's been pretty warm lately, you meant a "cold start" as in hadn't been started today...... she sounds great from here. Be safe

Yep, we won't be getting a COLD, cold start for a while now. It starts great with this method though. Warm/hot restarts are a quick push button afair like the factory carb. was.

It's been working out pretty well. I don't really like the fact that the pilot jets are "odd ball" and not really changeable, but it works fine and was only $20.00, so...

I have a bit of a long question.and not really pertaining to this video,just thought you may know the answer.so I did the pz30 with pump I did the setting that you found worked best but the bike was running rich witch didn’t make since to me on the stock carb I was running a 120 main this carb I put a 115 so I went down to a 110 and it got a lot better but not perfect so now I have a 105 but didn’t test yet…my confusion is why did I have to go so small.then I remember I took the charcoal can out and I was think the point of that can is to take I unburned fumes and dump them back into the motor but what happens when there’s no more fumes it sucks air witch would make the bike lean because the have the hose connected in front of the carb.so by deleting this the bike should get better fuel mileage? And be more efficient? Because it will only get air through the carb ? I know it’s a lot and sorry for that I’m just trying to make since of why such a big change in fuel And because your a man that loves working on bike and you have two If you wouldn’t mind on your stock carb plug the vent in front of the carb and see if you can tell a difference in power to see if it’s even worth doing
@MishMashMoto

The charcoal can doesn’t matter. Did you also remove your rubber airbox restrictor and cut off your spark arrestor screen? Running rich at idle or top end or??? Did you also set the needle clip in the next to lowest clip position slot on the needle?

The can is only for emissions. If the port on the carb. manifold adapter is plugged off it shouldn’t make a noticeable difference. If it’s left open it will run lean due to the air getting sucked in through the port. You can pump the pump by finger to see if adding fuel helps or hurts to confirm it is actually rich. Try the 40 pilot if you’re rich at idle.

Yea It’s very rich I think the 105 jet will work I just wanted to see if there was any benefit and why I had to go down on the jet so much Yes I moved the needle ,drilled out my air box and I have a aftermarket exhaust,and took the breaker off of the head of the motor.and at idle and low rpm it’s fine only open throttle and lowering the main jet size help And I can get it turned right I know enough to do that I just can’t understand why it’s suck a big change in jets only thing I came up with is the air hose going in front of the carb was letting in to much air and now that I plugged it I need less fuel. I’ll play with it some more when I get some time Thank you for responding

I just learned something interesting about the hose that I was referring to on the top of the valve cover. It’s connected to the exhaust port and it’s there to send exhaust fumes back into the Vin in front of the carburetor. I thought it was air going into the motor, but it’s backwards.. I don’t see how that’s necessary to have that on the bike all of the videos I’ve seen of people putting the XR 150 on a dino disconnected And that would also explain why the Bike so rich now that I capped it off is because that’s pressurize from the exhaust so it’s forcing air into the motor that doesn’t have fuel mixed with it

@@Xr150hobbys The only fuel source really comes through air/fuel mixing at the carburetor. There may be a tad of unburned hydrocarbons and/or fuel vapors that gets returned through that system but not enough to make a difference I don’t believe. That system can be permanently deleted but I still use it on my bike for now. I may decide to delete that system myself at some point while my cylinder head is off during the big bore kit installation (you can tap and plug the head with a pipe plug).
