Tiberius T8.1 High Power Tuning Must Know (32 Joules Max)

The Tiberius T8.1 can be tuned to the high power settings, and it is the same gun as the FN303P, PEPPERBALL TMP Pistol, or the other so called "Law Enforcement Version" of the T8.1. It's really the same thing but preset differently in the factory. For the T8.1 to shoot at the max power settings, you will need to adjust the pressure relieve valve screw and the velocity adjustment screws.You can get it to shoot at 25-26 joules easily but to get to 32 joules, you will need a chronograph to help you fine tune the screws a bit to get there. Here we will do a review and talk about some tips on how to tune the Tiberius T8.1 to high power settings.
Do not be confused or fooled by the rumors out there saying that the player's version is weaker, it's proven not, and it's can shoot even hotter than the military use FN303P (25 joules) too. Just get the right type of projectiles (Breaker Balls) and tune the gun right. See proof here in the video! We are getting a high of 333 fps with breaker balls, that is 32 joules!

Hi Chiinnature, thanks for some awesome vids / reviews, I bought the T8.1 based on your reviews and then second magazine the gun didn't shoot, gas just came out, thought I had bust the seals coz it was maxed out, so took it back to shop and they gave me another one, anyway this time I noted your other vid indicating that if you shoot to high power the o-ring may go, so anyway I start shooting and the gun is good just not enough power yet, so turned the velocity screw one full turn and tested and getting better, so turned another turn and poof the seal went again, anyway this time I was considering opening it up and changing the ring, after a bit of googling I saw mention of the relief valve, long story short I had not blown any rings, I had just failed to set the relief valve and due to my increasing the velocity screw the relief valve was doing its job, after doing this and the gun all good I came across this vid of yours explaining the relief valve lol... Great vids, keep up the good work :-)

you don't have to look around, the preoblem is not because of the relieve valve, the only problem with your gun going like that is because your stock t8.1 have very little lube in the a/c o-ring area, you need to check the gun after it leaks, it is always the air chamber oring that flew out and went into the bolt, and it's like that because of one reason only - crappy oring or no grease. Get that oring greased up with tons of silicone grease and stuff it back into the a/c from the head and you will just need to oil and lube the other parts and put it back then it will work. As for the relieve screw, in the power adjustment area, there is a big and smalls screw hidden inside. Big screw for power, small screw you have to just tighten it 100% all the way into the reg and that's good enough. You should get one mag of shots for 1 co2 and that's it. Then your gun is maxed power. BUT even that is the case, if you want it to shoot precisely at max power, you should get a chrono and see the numbers to fine tune your settings. Sometimes even you are shooting one mag for 1 co2, you can still be getting a bit low power because you did not know the exact settings and can be misssing a tiny turn or something. Don't read the stuff people say on forums and stuff , I was fooled by those shit out there and all those people are talking non-sense. Now I have 3 t8.1 and all working good, firing 28-30 joules, no fail. Sold 1 t8.1 this month and the guy also shot it, no problme. Just remember it's the a/c o-ring that flew up all the time, BECAUSE it needs a lot of grease there.. ore you have to buy another oring because the factory one sucks

Thanks for the info, I will give it a good strip down and use some high quality Silicone grease, +1 lot of forums preach max velocity of each gun as 300fps, weather the gun can max out at 280 or 400, thanks for the honest review and also using the breaker balls for the demo, demos with breaker balls and max velocity highlighting any problems with that scenario is where its at :-) keep up the good work...

if you need any info on these high power tune up guns, just ask me, I have tried many guns and tune them up, most people praise TIPX, and tell you what, it's bullshit. LOL TIPX max out at 15-16 joules, YES you can tune it up to 25 joules but then it will start not working properly very soon and after 1-2 days the velocity drop down back to the stock settings, it's not gonna work lol! T8.1 can stay at 28-30 joules forever, because the gun was designed to shoot in high power from the start, it's a FN303P, what do you expect? LOL Very reliable gun, the most reliable high power paintball gun so far, and of course the t9.1 and t4.1 too, same internals. The t15 is not the same, don't even buy that thing if you want high power, lol

Thanks for your help and info, I have tuned my T8.1, almost to max, relief valve quarter turn from max, and velocity 2 turns from max, I have serviced the internals as per your vid, very good easy to follow vid :-) its shooting very nice and puts holes in my targets, I will try to run a line out the top rear for bottle direct into gun, not via cable, I saw your review with the bottle on the magazine, very nice but still means must swop magazine with bottle, I want to have bottle independant and then I can look at upping the magazine to extended magazine, then I have super high power with plenty air, and a good amount of ammo.. will feel lot safer with that lol

Actually the more practical way is to load up a few magazines with co2 and balls, so when you are in need of the gun, just pick up the gun, turn and co2 is ready and you can fire 9 rounds (8+1), then dump the mag out, push in a new mag and continue. That way you don't stress the valve of the magazine too, plus new co2 everytime, faster deployment in a way compare to the clumsy air tanks. If you actually tried timing yourself doing it, you will be shocked how nice co2 setup is compare to air, if you have an emergency situation, you want things to be really easy and fast to deploy. Experiment and you will find a way that fits you!

Hey Mak, I bought a T8. 1 and want to tune it up to 300 - 320 fps with breaker balls. But I'm not sure how to tune the relief valve. As far as I understood is this valve like an overboost valve to protect the internals. Should I close this valve completely? Somewhere here in the comments I read to close this valve and then a 1/4 turn back open. I hope you can help me. Thanks

My tiberius T8.1 arrived in the mail today, just having trouble finding rubber balls and breaker balls for sale in the uk :( I been shooting paintballs at my steel targets tho and its pretty damn accurate :D

madda2012 those are mostly reballs, 3g each and are not anything you should use for self defense situation nor less lethal option. Just because they are rubber doesn't mean its hard, lol

I was looking for the same thing madda but I believe they are illegal in the uk, the reason paintball guns aren't regulated by the airgun laws is because they have frangible ammo, which is why they are allowed to be so much more powerful than air guns in the uk, so I'm pretty sure if you put hard balls in your paintball gun you will be breaking a few laws that could land you in jail for 25 years, especially if you shoot someone with it, not worth it.

And I'm very happy with my decision! Question: did you test this gun with the refillable Proton X2 air cylinder yet??? Maybe that would be a good alternative for the freezing CO2...

I'm really needing a guide and some links on where to find an older version T8 and what do I need to do to get atleast 29-32 joules? What all should I do to get it consistent and reliable..

+Justin Hackett why do you want an older version T8? that is not good, you need a new T8.1 and get it tuned to that 28-30 joules and it is all good. There is no difference, all T8.1 is the same, and you should not buy a T8 cuz they have an older design, the reg and shit is no good compare to the T8.1. Another fun video. Where do you buy your 12g CO2? The best price I see is $11 for 15. Do you think Tiberius will ever change the regulator for the paintball edition so it cannot reach such a high output? Only because of you I found out that these Tiberius markers can be tuned and used effectively as home defense weapons. More and more ppl will find out now and maybe something will happen and because of law suit issues Tiberius may change the consumer grade paintball version regulator. Do you have any inside information if Tiberius will be coming out with a new updated version of their T8.1, 9.1 eg) T8.2, T9.2?

Tae Gon Lee No idea about Tiberius changing their reg, but I am sure they don't give a shit about it. The thing is, you can take a Tippmann gun and tune the reg to 16 joules and cause trouble with 16j too. With nylon balls, 16j can break all the windows of your house, and so what about that? LOL! I buy my Co2 from Airgunsource mostly, buy in packs of 40 is cheaper. Crosman sucks but they are cheap, good enough. Buy in bulk if you like cheaper price. HERO sell in bulk 500 packs.

Johnny Appleseed nope it will not give you a big difference, but more about sorting it out for jams prevention. I have done it myself, it has to do more about the weight of the projectile.

So all this paintball talk about needing dow 33 or other kind of grease just for the clear oring in the firing bolt is nonsense like I suspected? Because originally I thought I could lube everything I needed to with the oil..

never use grease on the bolt myself, i tried silicone grease, but it is not good, since it will become a wear-out factor for the metal to metal contact. I also tried graffite powder with oil etc.. but that is not good fort he oring , so back to old school - pellgunoil for orings and oiling and remember good pcp silicone grease on the orings and some seals then it's all 100% good to go, simple and easy, no need for the expensive stuff

well then that is why I do this t8.1 too, pellgunoil, silicone grease, and that's it. Maintenance need to be done once awhile (3 months) to be safe, shoot the gun with a few co2 to practice and test, and then lube and clean the gun up and fire 1 mag with 1 co2 and you are good to go. I don't even disassemble the gun for lube and stuff unless o-ring burst out - which can happen if you let the gun sit for 1 year and not fire it once. I tried, lol, what happen is the o-ring got dried up and stuff, not good.. need to shoot it often to keep it lubed, then basically just shooting is already upkeeping with the oil squirting from the co2 blast, treat it like a BB gun, the cheapo bb gun, you don't need to do much to upkeep it. The barrel will need cleaning if you fire any weird stuff, otherwise, it's very good all the time for me

+Dominic Wong i got my t8.1 from hero army surplus, but you can buy it from anywhere that sells paintball guns, it's the same thing. Just that you need to tune up the power on your own
