Wearing pants tucked into long socks , throwing clothes in hot dryer and taking a shower immediately. This has helped me curb pretty much all tick issues . I also spray myself with some tick spray I have with peppermint as well as off up to my waist . Permethrin is the way to go however
Well done. Looks like the CDC is moving forward with a new ingredient, 'nootketone'. As it is a component of Vetiver Oil, products like your natural spray may have that as well in future.
If you want to keep ticks off you and to kill them also,Permithrin is the go to. Only thing about it is if it's still wet it's deadly dangerous to your cats.
Ohhh Also if you wear jeans or trousers open at the shoe/boot you want to turn the pant's/trousers inside out and spray that side too. I've been logging etc and using Permithrin since it 1st hit the shelves.
@@Jackson.T Good question, I have never heard of essential oils attracting bears. Bears are attracted to food and garbage. The oils don't have a strong odor. if you are hiking with a bottle of oil i would be safe and hang it in a bear bag or place it in a bear box with your food/toothpaste/scraps. I have never had a close bear encounter because of oils on my skin while camping.
