There's some talks about the Ticwatch 2 getting Android Wear in a later update. Obviously not anytime soon since Mobvoi doesn't want to compete with itself...

I totally agree. I got the ticwatch e and really love it. I think the ticwatch 2 with the play store would have been absolutely perfect though I tried out the Samsung watch for a short time and decided right then I will never own a smart watch without the play store. I got the ticwatch e for $121 during an Amazon lightning deal though. So I'm super impressed with it for the price.

Yeah, it’s crazy that it’s under $100 right now. It’s still a really great watch. Battery life just isn’t all that great.

you can sideload some of the android wear app thrue developer mode and the function install manually. and then just use the ftp app on the ticstore... pretty easy. as i recall.

@@pastallini yes i know. Had bought but i returned it because it isn't multi functional. for example If you set a timer then it's stuck there and you can't check anything else. Also the bluetooth range is poor. Maybe the bip 2 or bip 3 will change this.

I see you posted this a while ago but I'll answer anyway. There is an app from the Google play store called wearify. This allows you to play your Spotify on your watch from your watch. As long as you have wifi you don't need your phone to listen to music. No offline download yet. But I think they are working on it.

Irvin W I'm in the exact same situation.. will use it for outdoor runs while listen to some music without need to have a phone with me but I'm afraid to miss some wear apps, like google calendar (monthly view), google maps and some workout apps.. i would like having the google assistant as well but probably i would never use it..

+Nishanth Krishnamurthy yes, this will work perfectly without your phone. It has built in GPS that I've found to be very accurate in my usage.

Personally I would go with the Ticwatch E at this point. It will get far more support for updates in the future. Mobvoi probably won't spend the resources to continue to update the Tic OS on the Ticwatch 2.

also relevant to point out that all of the ticwatch own-ecosystem is dead.. as in there are no updates at all. there are the few apps there was from the beginning but has never been any more here the last 1 year... here you really sense the China Mentality even thow Mobvói still sells ticwatch2 thrue thirdparty vendors and clearing old stocks thrue china wholesale-vendors.. you wil not get ny update or new apps down that road. that store and ticOS is a dead dino in regards to the future ... so in regards to consumers and elevating all there promises on there ticwatch2 store etc etc and the bright future they would create for ticOS.. the moment they are paid they don't care, on to the next item and they don't look back and promises are given with sale in mind without the need or will to follow through...that just how they role over there, consumer rights is a laughing stock

So... music on the watch is actually really great for someone like me. I am a runner, and I can put music on the watch and take a pair of Bluetooth headphones to run completely phone and wire free. It's actually a really important feature for me in a watch. As for texting from the watch, both watches give you this option. The Ticwatch E has a few more options though. The E allows you to respond to texts with your voice, with a quick message (already created responses), or by drawing the letters on the face of the watch to write your response. As for answering calls, technically you can answer calls through a Bluetooth headset with the watches, but in my opinion you might as well just have the Bluetooth headset connected to your phone, because neither of these watches have data of their own.

I loved the watch, but at this point it won't get any software support, so I'd pass on it and probably go for something else in the price range. The Ticwatch Pro is supposed to be coming real soon. Not sure on the price point, but it looks like a pretty interesting watch.

Yes, both can get incoming calls and texts, and you can respond on big as well, but they have to be in range of your phone since neither watch has its own data.

I actually never used the tickle side on my TicWatch 2, but that is definitely a significant feature that they dropped.

Yes, I've heard that. I purchased my Ticwatch E from Amazon and had it within 2 days. I got the Ticwatch 2 from Gearbest and paid less than $10 for expedited shipping and had it in about a week.

With the Ticwatch 2 you are basically limited to the apps that come with the watch. For the most part they are all most people want/use on their watch. The Ticwatch E has the advantage of using Android Wear with a far larger app selection. The Ticwatch E also is more water resistant and has a stronger GPS signal. While the Ticwatch 2 is a great looking watch, the E is a more capable watch.

The Ticwatch 2 is running TicOS, whereas the Ticwatch E is running WearOS from Google.

Yeah you can connect to both at the same time and you will get notifications for calls in both your car and your watch

Yes, but in both cases you have to have them connected to your phone with Bluetooth to do so.

It is an amoled display, so it's pretty easily visible in daylight. I've not had issues with either in terms of visibility.

Yes, the Ticwatch 2 has its own assistant that works on basic things like the weather, alarms, to-do lists, etc... The Ticwatch E has the full Google Assistant.

+Albenyl Sadangsal if you just need a watch with great battery, the Amazfit Pace has great battery life and can store up to 2gb of music I believe.

You can, but you have to do a little bit of hacking. If you check out the Facebook group for the Ticwatch 2, someone there gave directions on how to do it. Wasn't something I was interested in, so I never gave it a try. The Ticwatch E can run Google Maps without any special effort, just download it on the Play Store.

+Daniel Villegas definitely. I've used multiple pairs of true wireless earbuds with the watch. I can Recommend the JH 100's from a company called Joyful Heart, they are my favorite, and they work well with the Ticwatch.

Yeah, the build of the Ticwatch 2 is really nice, but having Android Wear on the Ticwatch E is definitely much better.

Is the tic os that inferior to android wear? I was looking to sport the sleeker watch 2 but I am very skeptical about the OS Any examples on what features I would be missing out on by picking watch 2

Yes, with some limitations though. Only games that don’t require an internet connection of any sort.

If you get the stainless steel band you get a stainless steel casing. If you get the rubber band, then it has an aluminum casing. Both have ceramic backing though.

Does tic watch compatible with iPhone

Not really any difference there. The screens on the two seem identical to me. I wouldn't be surprised if they were the same screen TBH. As far as viewability in bright sunlight, they both get bright enough to be fully visible (and they both have ambient light sensors), but obviously you don't want to keep them at the brightest setting because of the battery life you will be losing.

You can definitely track your sleep with the Ticwatch E as it runs Android Wear. I don't know a lot about the Ticwatch 2 but from what I've seen it's not possible. It's worth keeping in mind that you'll probably want to charge the watch overnight unless you have time to when you get up in the morning.

I second what Ac said. Basically you can get through a day without much issue, but getting two full days is not as common.

I would probably get the Ticwatch S, while I loved the design of the 2, it won’t get future software support like the S will, and the S is a great watch as well, just not as good as the 2 as far as the design goes.

The Ticwatch E can because there are apps on the Wear OS Play Store that give you that option.

No, just on the Ticwatch E or the Ticwatch S. The Ticwatch 2 has a work around that allows a few apps from the Play Store to work, but not many, and they didn’t have full functionality.

Personally I like the Ticwatch over the Zenwatch. The Ticwatch S or E might be worth considering as well, because they will get better support from Mobvoi.

My battery life is actually a bit worse than yours, but I do nothing to conserve the battery. I get a full day of very heavy usage with the watch (using GPS for a run, using always on display, etc...), but I am charging it every night.

Have you tried completely discharging it? Because very recently, Ticwatch posted an article of someone saying that they managed to fix the battery issue by first discharging it completely and then fully charge it. I hope this helps. :)
