I can't thank you enough for this video! I just upgraded to the Pro 5 from the original Pro 3 GPS and was very disappointed to see Google Assistant was absent. I had no idea that Alexa was available for smartwatches and is my preferred smart assistant. It's a real game changer for me,. Also your review is very comprehensive, I don't know why I haven't seen your channel before but it's an easy subscribe from me!
@@JSyntax you're welcome mate! No I didn't try sideloading, as I am more than happy with Alexa, which works flawlessly. But I am going to check out some of your other apps.
I have the same Ticwatch pro 3 as you. I'm waiting for my Ticwatch pro 5 to arrive. Really looking forward to faster charging an the colored LED. Sub here😊
This seems awesome but after I saw no sapphire display, I just went and ordered a GW5Pro.. maybe I'll somehow upgrade to the GW6Pro if it's more what I had in mind and better performance and battery. If it matches this one, I can use that one for a decade like my Huawei Watch too.
Oh no. Missing the wrist gestures? This is an absolut must-have function for me which runs on my TW3 perfectly. Why the do not implement this function in the new system????
Got mine yesterday, so much faster than my Pro 3 Ultra, I love the crown and fast charging is great! Only thing I didn't like was the watch strap, I think the srap with the 3 Pro Ultra was better quality.
I'd love to know the actual dimensions of the watch. Mobvoi says 50mm, is that just the face, or face with the band? I saw one review where they measured 48mm from side to side without the rotating crown but that's different than what's advertised. Hoping you can measure with calipers if you have them. Also, what's your wrist size? It looks like it fits your wrist well.
Amazing review. Thanks. I just bought the watch, it looks great but there seems to be an issue syncing the data from the watch into the app. Have you noticed that? And if yes, do you have a solution? It seems to sync after a while (somewhere from 30 minutes to an hour), but it's very frustrating. 😊 Best regards.
I will receive the TicWatch 5 Pro on Saturday. The Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro LTE should arrive in a few days. What do you think. What is the better choice? I am scarred there will be no update to WearOS 4 on the Mobvoi. I like the ULP Display and I never used the LTE function on my Apple Watch for years. Don't know wich one to keep. What would you do?
Thanks for the video review! Hmmm - very difficult to feel enthused by the TW Pro 5 when TW have messed around their TW Pro 3 customers by lame excuses about their difficulties in rolling out WOS. 3 and the new watch lacks some pretty core features - no wireless charging is crazy, the GA problem or issue - whether or not TW’s fault is a major drawback as is the lack of wrist gestures (which must be their fault). Sure, a very fast chip and yes the rotating crown is very nice but again, why limit the Watch to just that plus one button? I’m afraid I’m underwhelmed by it and certainly won’t be buying any more TWs while ever they mess around with their customers as they have done with the TW Pro 3 :(
One thing that wasnt noted is that the battery life for the first month is about 1.2 days if you dont use the essential mode. After around a month it lasts about a week with same. I had returned one then the second one was poor too. Then it got much much better
Thanks for the video. I had a couple of questions based on it. The first is how much battery the real-time spo2 takes compared to every 30 mins. You also mentioned the alarm function, does this work in essential mode?
i didnt notice an impact to battery, i always charge when im in the shower, so hard to say, for me, it's basically infinite battery life since i shower daily and have the charger in the bathroom
I've been using the Vivoactive 4 for a couple of years and i just have recently fell inlove with it again. But i'm still looking for an upgrade, i had really bad experience with the TicWatch pro 3 mostly bc of my previous cellphone and the OS in it. Do you think is worth the change?, i do like to do weightlifting and the Vivoactive is super good at it, don't know how the TicWatch will perform against the Garmin option i already have.
When you use the ULP screen/backlight settings, does the watch open the AMOLED and show notifications if you tilt your wrist when receiving the notifcation? Or do you still have to tap the screen and/or use crown to see the notification?
I was hoping that this watch was going to be the holy grail for me. Unfortunately, the first two watches that they have sent me after I ordered it have both been defective. Both of them froze up for no reason. Both times it happened on a walk. The watch would not respond to anything. In both cases I had to wait for the battery to die, and then put it on the charger to get it to work again. The first one froze after one day and the second one froze after about a week and a half and is now on its way back. I really like the look and functionality of this watch and I am going to give it one more chance
Is there an option to use compass in essential mode? Please don't give me the answer without checking, because on the basis of that i am going to buy the watch Please also share the video of it if possible Thanks
Finally! I've been watching all youtube videos I could find plus reddit posts and didn't find an answer so far! I really wanted to know if Alexa was an alternative which it seems it is (already using it on my twp3) but the physical buttons remapping app....is just great. I understand your developped this? I hope you are planning to provide long-term support to this app as it is really solving one big issue of the OS itself... see.. I constantly use my watch at home to interact with my domotics. Is "Google assistant go" working for this? Can I turn-on lights and so on...? What about google routines? In twp3 they are not supported... Is the Alexa app providing voice reaponses or only written ones? Sorry...I know... many questions, but thanks to your workarounds I am seriously considering buying this watch. The low consumption display is just unique in the market and important for battery consumption.
Yes make sure the download my app in order to bind the Google Assistant go to the long press. Alexa is automatically buying it to long press if you install it without my app. But if you have both installed you can choose.
Hi, I brought the tic watch pro 3 and then the ultra came out....do you think there will be a tic watch pro 5 ultra....? with OS 4, wireless charging, better strap....ECG..... LTE....?
If you're connected to Wi-Fi you can get certain app notifications but your phone's notifications I don't believe will show up because it requires Bluetooth connection
We still have not received wear os 3 update for the Tickwatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS. I would not spend any more money on a company that isn't able to honour their promises.
I want to know the battery performance on sport mode with GPS - running, or hiking. My current Pro 3 couldn't survive 5 hours in this mode. I always hike more than that
Great video as usual, I used this video to help me make my decision to purchase the Ticwatch Pro 5 so thank you (just received it yesterday) Can I ask you a couple of questions as you seem to be clued up on this tech. Are you able to get your alarm notifications from your phone or do you have to create separate alarms on the watch. I had no such issue with my Ticwatch Pro 3 Ultra but it seems to be an issue with this phone. Also does your scheduled essential mode kick in, mine doesn't seem to work, I'm wondering if I have a faulty model. Are you aware of any tips or tricks to kick it into action. I haven't seen anyone else complain about it. Again my Ticwatch Pro 3 Ultra didn't have this issue. Burg issues aside this is a dream of a watch & arguably the best out there at present.
@@JSyntax just an update for you and your followers of your channel, I got a response from Mobvoi in regards to essential mode which is actually now working on my watch. The reason why it wasn't kicking in when I was trying to enable it was because it needs a 30-minute rest period hence when you are asleep or when you've taken it off it goes into smart essential mode it's not like the Ticwatch Pro 3 Ultra where you can set it to come on straight away. It also must not be on charge.
Does it have a sapphire crystal screen? If it doesn't it will get scratched. I have a decade old Huawei Watch that I wore every day with a flawless screen still. Seems pretty awesome. What will it lose out of with this probably getting wear OS 4 way later than a Pixel and Galaxy? For me it's between this and the GW5Pro. I need to replace my Huawei and nothing seems to have as nice of a design and materials. Mine has almost no bezel at all. I don't know how it's only been done once. All these new ones still have black bezels; mine has zero, just the thin stainless steel lip. Edit: it's some gorilla Glass. This will scratch, so it's not worth the money. It will inevitable get all scratched up. It's worth waiting for an update or I'm thinking maybe get the GW5Pro, even though this seems better other than that.
Alexa on my gen 6 disconnects very frequently if it is not used for half an hour or even less it tells me to wait it has to reconnect and it takes 30-40 seconds each time to restart it and then until you use it it goes but still if you don't use it for a some time later when you call her back she tells you to wait again! I bought ultimate alexa and it is always responsive and ready!
Ticwatch 5 is much more accurate in both Heart rate and GPS than the Watch 5 pro if you care about workouts. Battery life is better than the watch 5 pro as well in my experience with the items I turn on and doing GPS workouts daily
En la llamadas el altavoz suena muy bajo y eso que lo eh subido en opciones al máximo. ¿No hay alguna forma de que suene la voz de las llamadas mas fuerte? (Ticwatch Pro 5)
I have a question and I don't know anyone else who can answer it. My pixel passes any notifications to my ticwatch pro 5 with vibration except those from blink home security. I have no idea why. I need it to vibrate. I even sideloaded the blink apk to the watch and nothing. It shows the notification but won't buzz. I have reboot, factory reset both devices and at my wits end.. help!
This has the absolute weakest vibrations I have ever felt on a smartwatch. How in the world are you saying that the vibrations are good? Is there a way to change the setting to make them stronger??
