I personally prefer Persil. I don't use fabric softeners and found that after drying the clothes after washing it with Persil it smelled clean as for Tide it didn't smell clean it, it smelled like the clothes sat in the washer for a day. I find it that when I wash it with cold water the smell lasts longer. Also, while drying you can smell it outside nearby the dryer vent. My mother was a Tide and Rinso and so I have used Tide for a long time.

I own a tree business so my clothes get exceptionally filthy. I’ve been a Tide fan for many years but switched to Persil because it does clean deeper and better. I don’t use any additives like I used to so I feel it saves money to make up for its higher prices. Tide is outstanding though and it does smell great.

"Scent" is a subjective matter. What matters is which cleans better. I spend some time in Europe while on vacation and the one thing I noticed is how bright-white bed sheets are there. So I use Persil and it smells great. Another really good product is Ariel detergent.

The tide smell is amazing but i washed my ikea ektorp slip cover witch was a little bit more dirty then normal and it dosent came out clean afer the wash. i was dispointet cause i always hear how good tide is. but when i wash with PERSIL everything came out 100% clean.

That's because U.S. detergents have became weaker than they used to be. They switched to enzyme based detergent because it's supposedly better for the environment. They used to be phosphate based and did an amazing job of cleaning. I started adding the phosphate back into my detergent using a brand of trisodium phosphate here in the U.S. called TSP. They used to sell Persil here in the U.S. under the brand name of Wisk back when detergents were phosphate based and while it did a respectable job, it was no match for the top 3 brands back then which were Tide, Cheer and Gain. I still use Gain powdered detergent and mix the TSP with it and it still cleans better than any simple enzyme based detergent.

I wish I could make my whole house and existence smell like the Persil Original. It smells amazing to me. I am so glad I decided to try out Persil. I DO feel like my clothes are cleaner and fresher than with all the other detergents I used to use. I also finally started to measure my detergent and fill a little bit above line 1, maybe to line 2 if I feel like it's a lot of clothes or a bit dirtier stuff. I feel like I can use less with Persil and it still gets clean. I can't say if it works better than Tide though because I haven't ever really tried Tide enough to say so. I do know I want to buy Persil again when I need to though.

persil > used tide for the longest time switched to persil on a sale once never returned. The smell is better imo its fresh and good smelling without being to overwhelming but it stays on the clothing. But the real gem is how well it cleans. It gets out tough stains and dirt and grass etc without issue on first wash. It has more surfacents and enzymes that eat grease oils dirt etc away than tide has so it makes sense its a deeper better clean. And i notice no color fade on my color clothing where as my forest green sweatpants with tide turned fairly dull green after 2 years of washes.

For the scent, it depends on the one you buy. The original does not smell very nice but the intense fresh one smells absolutely delicious. Go for the intense fresh or the odor fighting one but I still think the intense fresh is better because it’s a lot more crisp where is the original and the odor fighting have a sweeter finish which I really don’t like. There’s also one with Oxsee clean but I wouldn’t waste money on an Oxsee clean detergent because it doesn’t really work. And they also have one of the free and clear options for ultra sensitive skin which I would imagine doesn’t have much of a scent but those detergents also do not usually works out well because they’re very diluted and not going to be that strong.

Persil with a tiny bit of Pinesol (1/4 a cup or less, in a full load) the regular/original Pinesol has laundry instructions! It’s the BEST combination you’ve ever tried, guaranteed! I’ve switched literally everyone over to it who has seen my laundry coming out of the drier! I don’t use fabric softeners either, bc they coat the fabric. I use fabric softeners and I don't care if they coat the fabric. So there. All Persil is is Wisk, re-branded and Wisk never was as popular as Tide, Cheer or Gain. I use Gain powdered detergent with a spoonful of TSP (Trisodium phosphate) which all detergents used have have in them as it makes water wetter and provides more sudsing action and gets clothes cleaner than any modern equivalent using enzymes instead of phosphates.

I used to buy Tide but switch to Persil after my elderly parents move in with me. My elderly mom soil her clothes with urine and I tried both Tide and Persil Odor Fighter and Persil did a better job. None remove it completely and that's why I used regular Pinesol to soak her clothes overnight and wash it and rewash it with Persil and Lysol sanitizer sports and used sports odor fighter laundry drying sheet. All this and it completely removes the smell. The same with her bedding, cushions, and, or anything she wears or sits on. I tried arming hammer baking soda, white vinegar, odorklenz, OxiClean, but nothing worked except what I typed above.

Persil was originally a premium brand sold with some high-end washing machines until it was introduced as an exclusive brand at Walmart. For about a year, Persil was sold exclusively at Walmart, but it was gradually introduced at other stores nationwide. Ironically, when Persil was rolled out, Henkel (which bought the company that bought Wisk from Lever Brothers) discontinued Wisk just after its 60th anniversary in 2016
@csymindspring
@csymindspring 2 года назад
Persil is the name that Wisk was always sold by in Europe (but with a different fragrance.) They discontinued Wisk (which actually smelled good, IMO) because it sold for mid-price in the US, so that Persil (just Wisk with an unpleasant odor) which had been introduced at the higher price point could just canibalize the Wisk sales (or so they hoped.)
@stevenscott7427
@stevenscott7427 Год назад
I lived in Germany prior to 2016 and Persil has always been Persil. Wisk used to be the only liquid detergent available in America as everything else was powder. Germans also had a liquid, but it was not called Wisk; I used that myself. Persil was known to be superior to that product. I do not know if the Germans have bought onto the liquid craze as Americans have, and perhaps with their own style of marketing techniques, they also chose the name Wisk to sell their liquid, because, as I'm familiar with their thought process, how can the powder and the liquid be considered the same? And Wisk was chosen for a name because it reflected that proven successful liquid form already in America. And when Wisk was bought out, marketing complications, etc. Besides, Persil was superior to (American) Wisk in any case, so Wisk in America was retired.
@Bonanzaking
@Bonanzaking Год назад
@@stevenscott7427since you mentioned being in Germany, are you familiar with Perwoll? I understand the parent company Henkel owns it and Persil. I bought a bunch of the perwoll for black fabrics via amazon since nearly all my shirts and sweaters are black. I was considering getting the other varieties for other laundry items. But upon stumbling onto persil it made me reconsider it as a more cost effective option for my non black clothing. Do you figure it’s the same stuff as the formulations of Perwoll? Just sold to an American audience?
@stevenscott7427
@stevenscott7427 Год назад
@@Bonanzaking Sorry for late reply. I am unfamiliar with Perwoll. I used a liquid to wash some clothes in the sink. It probably was like Woolite. It was another interesting German product that worked, is all I remember, smelled good, but strong. USA had Wisk, an alternative to laundry powders. This is the 20th Century I'm referring to yet here. Before virtually everything turned to liquid. Back then, there was nothing like Wisk in Germany, and Wisk was not that popular in the States. It should be said, that Germans are masters at getting clothes clean in a superior fashion. Americans, not so much. Germans washed only with front loading machines, which do a superior job of cleaning, which was always pointed out. American top-loaders, relatively cheap machines just push the clothes around on short cycles. The German machines...well, look up Bosch. These machines are expensive. Germans swear by these machines. And the laundry products; I waited until Persil showed up beyond Walmart to realize, yes, the Germans were right. I would say that any German laundry product is worth a try. Germans think different than Americans. They are more interested in making good products. You have to decide for yourself if it is worth it to you. Maybe it is different now, more American influence. But Persil is still Persil! Even in liquid form; beating the Americans at their own game.

Don't use pod Persil in cold water. I phoned to complain and was sent a coupon to purchase liquid. My pods dissolved only partial of the pod. Detergent cleaned clothes but one pair of pants had slime all over the front. To use up remaining pods I will have to use warm/hot water.

Because she chose to use the Tide more often, the test was a not as accurate as it could have been had she used each equally. I also wonder if her preference for the scent that turned out to be Tide was biased by previous experience.

I remember seeing TV ads in the late 50s and early 60s in Germany. It was powder at that time, as were most detergents. It was the most used and popular brand in Germany. At that time, there were only a couple of other choices.

Idk why people like Tide. It's disgusting!! Also people use too much detergent with Tide!!! It's just too strong in scent! I do miss Wisk though!

Tide and percil delivers the same at excellent cleaning power with different scent, I prefer the scent of percil over Tide. Fragrances are a multi billion industry, smelling better generates higher sales. I choose percil.

Women in the USA buy thing by color, by smell, by how pretty it is... In other words form over function. I would not take that dingy house wife’s advice on how well it cleans.

No, Persil is a German brand, has been around much longer than Tide since about 1905, while Tide has been around since 1947 approx. Persil is a top detergent in most European countries, and has been for decades. It scores better than Tide on all independent studies.

I used to used Tide detergent now I switch to Persil laundry detergent. Tide strip the color of my clothes away. 1st with my new shirt with Tide it look like it been wash at least 50 times. I used Tide only on white color. I am a big fan of Persil Laundry detergent it does not strip the color of my clothes.

The UK Persil is not the same as the US/German Persil. Persil in UK is produced by Unilever. In US and Germany by Henkel.
