Sorry to blow up this comment section but I am sooo thankful!!!! You have not only been a source of information to myself as a young angler but a source of inspiration!! I hope to have my kids fish alongside me.
Also if possible a video on the easiest launches on the Hudson would be great! Just giving suggestions in case you want some! Absolutely love ur channel! Thanks again
Great idea. In the mean time from south to north. Highland, West side - Good main river ramp with not very good parking. Sleightsburgh, Rondout - Protected ramp from waves, Not many parking areas, Dangerous on low tide. Charles Rider, west side - Good Ramp, plenty of parking, can get busy in the summer + Ramp fee. Germantown, East side - Good ramp, ok parking, hidden gem. Catskill, West side - Good Ramp, plenty of parking , very dangerous shallow water on the lower tides. Schodack - East side - Best ramp on the river, super parking and protected.
@@MrHvbass you are the book that keeps on giving again I can’t thank you enough! Yes a video can put into better perspective. But this was very beneficial yet again!
Yes I should have definitely referred to them as railway trestles…. I called them NYC railway inlets 😆 I didn’t know any better. Again I absolutely love this information I cannot tell you how much this will help!!! Thanks on behalf of all Hudson bass boaters!
Great information. i have use my Lawrence for checking out the tide but i did not know that you can look at data ahead. also can you make a video on how you brake down the tidal water fishing. i seem to be having such a hard time location fish on the Hudson. when i saw fish on my livescope i through it was bass turn it was cat fish. last trip i was out on Hudson all i got was a catfish. please help.
I seen you in the new Dicks world of sports in Latham New York yesterday. I was going to say bellow but didn’t want to bother you. I’m guessing your heading to Champlain to fish? I was going to ask you for some pointers on fishing Saratoga lake. I’m doing my first ever Tuesday night tournament there and it is a tough lake That’s how I found your channel looking at videos of people fishing Saratoga and became a subscriber. Keep the great videos coming and good luck 🎣
Next time say hi. I was headed to Champlain and I just needed some trailer hooks, but need to see everything.....lol. Do you have FaceBook. Dan Morgan. Hot me up.
We call them suck holes because back in the 24 volt Johnson trolling motor days , if you got to close on the incoming tide, you would get sucked under the trestle....hence the name suck hole....lol
Team Morgan: absolutely excellent work!!! But this begs another question I have had dwelling in the back of my mind, something you may want to make another great video on. WHEN is the waves/wind/weather too dangerous on the Hudson ?? What signs to look out for, tidal changes, what to do in an emergency weather situation. What can lead to these dangerous conditions. As I have also had to deal with very scary storms on the Hudson. I had to wing it and shoot across the low lying channel! I really think it could help others aside from myself!!
Avoid any north or south wind above 20 mph. Check weather forecasts before departing. East or West wind you are ok to stay on the east or west side. Wind from the east, run fish the east and same for west side.
I come from the south so its a little closer. No jet ski's buzzing around the ramp and usually not as crowded. Been going for years, but dangerous on low tide with a single axle trailer.
@@MrHvbass absolutely that is what I am afraid of! I have a 30 year old boat and trailer. I’m afraid of that drop off just like the one at Lou Roberti! Henythe reason I launch from Charles rider. But YES there are constant sailboats, bass boats, jet skis etc…. The reason I launch there is because of the east access of parking.
Absolutely phenomenal information! This will truly help me! But check my last comment! I really think a video on safe/unsafe conditions on the Hudson would do wonders! Wind/Tide/launching and returning the boat. It could Possibly help people from avoiding catastrophe.
