Did you mount those aluminum rod holders using starboard?

That is how they came from Taco marine.

K9COP357 my buddy has a NauticStar 1910. It’s an older model (2007 I think). I’ve been on it many times and it’s a solid boat. However, it is 6” narrower and you can tell. The KW bay reef is a solid boat. I would love to test a 210br.

james rainey - thanks for watching. Yeah, the 115 is just not the right match for this hull. Do you have the leaning post or the flip cooler seat? Both make it tough for getting in the console, but the leaning post gives a little easier access.

@@MrCefink I've got the flip seat. The boat was $28k with no electronics so it fit into the budget. I like the flip seat but more room under the console would be nice.

Kyle Johnson , I got it from Cape Romain Marine just northeast of Charleston SC. As I said in the video, it had a 115 mounted. The upgrade to the 150 required a 4 week delay. It also had the standard rail and windshield. The dealer modified those too. So it’s possible. But I had to commit to the purchase before the work was done.

I just visited a tidewater dealer near me and he recommended against putting a 150 on the 1910 and stated that it will porpoise. Said he would definitely need trim tabs. Is he blowing smoke? Also he quoted $35k for bmt with the 150, tabs, swing tongue and foldable console rail. Seem about right to you?

Kyle Johnson well, I don’t experience porpoising. I guess that’ll be my next video. Is he a Yamaha dealer? A yam115 is 386lbs and the yam150 is 489lbs. So 100lbs more on the transom is probably why he’s guessing about the porpoising. My Etec150 is only 433lbs. There is also his risk with putting a 150 on a boat that you didn’t commit to yet.

@@joshs1691 thanks. With a 150hp, yes. I only say that because sometimes you need that power to navigate big swells that might pop up. But that’s just me. It’s all about confidence in your rig and your skills. Good luck!

Briana J Thanks for watching! At optimal cruise (3700rpms, 25mph) I’m getting about 4.5mpg. A fast cruise is 4500rpms, 34mph, I’m still getting 3.5mpg.

MrCefink Thank you! You’ve been so helpful. We bought a 2019 with a 150 this past weekend. Do you know happen to know the specs of the prop you’re running on your motor? I’m asking because I feel the one on our motor is too big based off the performance we’re getting out of it.

Gel coat holding up Chief?

Roger Leslie Cape Romain Marine in McClellanville, SC. I think it was right around $34k out the door with the Garmin installed and the folding trailer tongue. Add the Minn Kota, two Optima deep cells, Taco rod holders, pedestal seat... I think I added nearly $2k more.

No because I couldn’t see the tires and wall clearance with those. But going slow in my truck with mirrors, I can back it in pretty good.

Brett Erickson - I just bought a cheap white igloo, maybe 30qt. Keeper fish either go in that cooler (food in an RTIC soft side) or more often in the rear live well. Just keep them alive til I get home.

Griffin Terpstra it would be super tight. The winch post on your trailer would have to be moved forward to ensure the boat and motor are as far forward as possible. Talk with the dealer... a lot of times, they will do whatever it takes for you to drive that thing home. Tell them 22’8” and I bet they will make it work.

Davison Turner - the rear livewell, no. The front one (under the seat) would splash out the sides on to the deck. So I cut the pipe down to have less water in there. Haven’t had a problem since.

MrCefink my rear live well leaks from under the deck, like it’s not sealed to the bottom of the deck, this lid seals fine

Griffin Terpstra - thanks for watching. My dealer installed the grab rail before I took delivery. So not factory installed. What kind of problem are you having?

@@MrCefink the dealer told me that it was an option and is now saying that he made a mistake. The tidewater website offers the option when you use the build the boat function. I was wondering if this is something they had done in the past or maybe the dealer was mistaken. my garage is 6'10" on the trailer with the rail it will measure 7'. 9’ fly rod no problem

With 2 people and half tank of gas, you won’t win a race, but you’ll be fine. But if you’re pulling people on tubes… you’ll be wishing for 35 more horses.

Cody Zeringue - without the windshield or rail attached, it is approximately 74”. This might change based on the trailer brand, tire size, hitch height, and bunk orientation. My trailer is a Magic Tilt.

Jon Kanner - I would say better than average. The Carolina flair does a great job of moving water away from the cockpit and it’s 1,850lbs is heavier than most 19’ boats helping it to cut waves. Trim tabs would be help keep the nose down to knife the waves even more. Maybe next year.

@@MrCefink cool cool I keep going back and fourth between a key west 210 bayreef that I would want to add power poles etc. or a tidewater 21 bay max that is fully loaded ready to go. I heard they were both made in the same factory as key west boats

JohnK - i installed the pedestal seat base myself. It is an option, but wasn’t cut before I got it. I waited a year before installing.
