Vera, "Ok Dad I got this,...just beat it with a wrench if all else fails!" Also, that was a very beautiful church in the center of the town, thank you for sharing. Safe travels.
I am so happy to be part of your crew! Johan, I would travel with you in all watches and weather. One of the few Captains I trust. Malin, thank you for your perseverance, skills and video management. We all know the difficulties of filming a particular scene, whether on land or at sea. The quick inserts of The Admiral scooting around below deck are precious . The visitations, hiking and explanations of ship systems, all flow together - getting better and better. Blue skies and following seas.
Thank you Johan for braving the cold wind and salt spray to bring us that storm footage! Awesome. Vera says she wants to go with mom to the hair dresser so she can look as fine as her mother... Bet having reliable heat is a blessing, all thanks to Johan and Vera's hard work!
My wife and I really enjoy your love of adventure and your positive attitude. Thank you for not dramtizing your challenges, there just a part of life. And we love Vera, she is such a cute deckhand.
Back in 1985 I was in the Scottish Highlands in the Cairngorms I was with a group of squaddies on our first experience of Harsh weather We as a group sat on a ledge of rock eating our ration packs after which we stood up turned round to continue our climb four steps is all it took to go from a peaceful picnic TO literally reaching out my bent arm to touch the ground Because of the Power Mother Nature HAS was a lesson I have never forgot As a side remark pertaining to this Blog I used to drive HGV working out of Perkins UK Peterborough Who actually Built a Japanese Shibaura Engine under licence And Badged it Volvo Penta
Really appreciate when you also use dollars when giving us an idea of costs and Fahrenheit when speaking about the weather, from a USA fan! Be safe and now you will be warm. Hugs to Vera.
After sailing in our US Merchant Marine Service for 35 years, sailing and meeting many Scandinavian seaman, I must say that Johan reminds me more & more as the videos and viewing continues as Leif Erikson the famed seadog and explorer himself.
We had 63 knots here about a month ago. The solar panels of the neighboring house flew and fell in our house and caused great damage. Luckily we were not at sea that day.
Does Sweden have a equivalent of The Royal Engineers As I can see Vera if she decides to give her time being in charge in a few years She has been trained by the best ;-)))
That was some gale! It can’t be easy keeping cheerful & Vera entertained, when you can’t escape but I suppose there are definitely more highs than lows?! Great to see that new heater going in.
Glad to see they did not change the details so the new heater would not install without additional issues. We have been out in 50 kts but never 60. I can’t quite imagine even walking in such strong winds.
$700 that engine work you could have done yourself... Ouch! That was an expensive stamp. We have to "kiss the ring" sometimes. Very beautiful images of that small town and sea under the wind storm. It reminded me of the Portuguese coast in the Winter. Stay strong, together and enjoy the adventures.
Thanks for sharing another great video, the villages are so quaint especially knowing the history of how long some of the homes have been here. Imagine the number of storms they have endured. Stay safe and warm. Fair winds and falling seas 😘⛵️⛵️
Soooooo Glad you have a new, properly-working heater! From experience, I know how uncomfortable - and demoralizing - having no heat on a boat is. Enjoy the heat to the max. May your cabin feel like the Caribbean now....
I just can't stop smiling whenever l see Vera, she has such a beautiful smile and seems to want to be included in whatever daddy is doing. Thank you for sharing, it's going to be wonderful watching her grow. Fair winds and safe travels.
Thats a quite expensive stamp! But... in a land home you also get some big "stamps" and home always stay in the same place... day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year! And Vera... helping dad giving him the tools he need. Or keeping an eye on volvo guy... making sure that everything is done as it should be :) Growing fast :) César
The cover is a good addition I think, I had thought this for very long time, all climates. It's a place in the morning, or when ever provides something. More places, like a garage or added room.
Veras socks and coat look so cute and matches Ran2. Her hair is turning darker. I love your new hair cut Malin, and the curls were pretty. That storm was wicked! Sleeping on the boat must be a bit hard but going back to land in a quiet house would be even harder after so long on there. Thanks for sharing!
Great to see Vera becoming a valuable crew member , will she be bi lingual from the start learning Swedish and English , lets hope countries start to open up soon .
In a year that little sailor is gonna be helping you fix the boat! She seems very in tune with things! I am glad that gale found you in a safe harbor. Always a joy to watch your episodes.
Love your videos. We are viewing some of your year 1 videos and the first one we watched started with heater failure! Love seeing little Vera - she is so adorable. Thank you for sharing!
Surprised that the service didn't include adjusting the valve clearances. That's important with diesel engines. Is it like the Mercedes engine where you need a pair of special spanners? That was a nasty storm. I guess it was the arctic bubble that we had come down a few weeks ago.
Wow! You crossed the sound barrier to get to the town to the west. May you cross many more. Great videography and editing as usual and Vera is apprenticing to be dad's right hand.
It looks like that young lady is going to be a very useful crew member, she doesn't seem fazed by anything and so inquisitive. Lovely places that you are showing us but it seems such a shame about all those empty houses and only used for a few weeks in the summer 😐 .
Wow, Reminds me so much of my time on board here in the Pacific Northwest of Washington State. People who are land based just have no idea of the reality’s of life aboard a sailing vessel... Cheers from Anacortes!
Yes, Johan has entered the 'laity order of the mechanic' and has been elevated from the ordinary people/person, to a distinct professional or expert by bleeding. 😯
