Tien was amazing in this episode. He's just so done with the power scaling, so he'll just fight and irritate whoever he doesn't like.

I love how after Vegeta's monologue, Goku is just happy for (someone he considers) his friend and that pisses Vegeta off even more

If I remember correctly the hyperbolic Time chamber was created using the Dragon balls, the further away you get from the main hub door, the more intense the fluctuations become. Training in there basically takes a year off of your life because you live out the year inside there in one day outside. Sayings are able to take full advantage of it since they have a longer youth cycle in their lifespans. Allowing them to keep in physical form well into their sixties or seventies I can't remember exactly. Goku at the end of super is I think in his fifties and still looks like he's in his late 20s/early 30s.

In the original, Semi-Perfect Cell almost had 18 fooled by using 17's voice. But Cell made the mistake of saying that they can fulfill Gero's ambitions, which 18 knew was a lie because they hated Gero for what he did to them.

In Budokai Tenkaichi, when you have to fight Great Ape Vegeta as Goku and survive for a certain amount of time, I could never do it as a kid. Until I realized that the battle starts you off with enough energy to do a Kamehameha. So I did one as soon as the battle started which knocked him down, then I immediately began charging ki, and got just enough by the time Vegeta got back up and I sent off another Kamehameha immediately. I did that over and over until the time ran down and I won.

TFS made Tien so freakin cool. His whole speech to Cell before he unleashes that first Kikoho and his back talk to Cell is the definition of badass

The Hip Hop 17 that Cell conjured up was actually what his abridged characterization was originally going to be.

Fun fact: In the final saga of DBZ, which TFS have chosen not to do, EVERYONE dies except for Mr. Satan. INCLUDING Chi Chi. So Chiaotzu's line to her "give it some time, you're hanging with the right crowd" is VERY on point. Also, since I doubt either of you know this, Master Roshi died in the original Dragonball anime at the hands of Demon King Piccolo (who is Piccolo's dad...kind of sort of). Well either him or one of his underlings.

God I love the Tri-Beam Cannon (which is what the Kikoho is known as in the dub). When you consider how weak Tien is compared to everyone else, who at that point are all drastically weaker than Semi-Perfect Cell, the amount it did to Cell implies it's an insanely powerful technique, far surpassing the Kamehameha so ridiculously that I don't understand why Goku never learnt it, at least as a final desperate move. Like, the drawback to the Tri-Beam is that it literally saps away your lifeforce in order to utilise, and Goku dies more than anyone else, and the senzu beans heal you from it anyway, so... yeah. I mean, I get it, because it would be utterly OP if someone as powerful as Goku used it, like a Spirit Bomb that doesn't need time to build up, but still.

This is probably the greatest proof that the whole power level thing is BS, something Tien actually calls out. Since his training with King Kai he was even able to go toe to toe with members of the Ginyu force. His power level in numbers is minuscule here yet with his training he was able to hold back cell. He might not be able to do damage, but the technique was able to hold him.

I love that last exchange between Vegeta and Goku Vegeta: Do you hear me Kakarot! I am finally strong than you! Goku: Neat!! Vegeta: Bleep you. Pretty much sums up everything you need to know about both of them.

It does take time off your life, that's why Trunks is older. o_O It's just Vegeta is a pure blooded Saiyan and they don't really age much except in big spurts.

If you spend one year in another dimension, then it feels pretty natural that you would be one year older when you get back to your own dimension

Yes, he says Kikoho a bunch. The reason he's spamming that attack is because none of his normal attacks would have any impact on Cell. The Kikoho burns out his lifeforce to allow him to punch well above his weight class. That's why he collapses. Merely using that attack that much would have killed him and all he could do is buy Android 18 time which she wastes

My favorite part of Chiaotzu telling Chi Chi to give it some time is that she dies in the next saga.

the mis-number with the ki-ko-ho that people mistake stems from og dragonball in og dragonball it was stated to take a 3rd of your life span because of how powerfull it is however it was later established/implied that the stronger you are, the better your body can withstand incredibly powerfull techniques so while most people think that 3rd of your lifespan thing was a lie or just retconned, truth is, the characters just got so strong that while such of move is still severely draining on your life, you can handle it better.

The reason the Chamber is so deadly is *because* it's the ultimate infinite training grounds-- the gravity and temperature both rise the further from the entrance you get, and there *is* no end. You can go out into 30,000 times earth's gravity out there. That, and there's only enough food for one person to eat well-- meaning when two go in together, they don't have a massive amount of food.

actually the hyperbolia chamber does not take a year... its just time flows differently there. i think even the kai's where amazed by it. as time travel is kinda taboo... like REALLY illegal both back and forth. but beerus let it slide because goku got strong. and trunks was appointed time travel guardian of sorts in xenoverse.

In this episode, Cell becomes a raging semi... I regret nothing. The last episode where Tien is truly useful. TFS did him justice with those lines. To this day, if I play a game with a huge beam attack, I imagine my target(s) going "Aww, that's adora-SHIIIIIIT". Every single time, too. Sure is fun playing a Super Robot Wars game where that happens somewhat frequently. Especially with the Mazin units!

You’re actually not wrong Kyle about losing some of your life in the time chamber. You stay in the chamber for a year but in the real world only day has pass, so you actually lose a year of your life every time you go in the time chamber.

actually the kikoho isn't a triangle, it's a diamond, your thumbs point down while your ringers point up, at angles of course, but none the less, diamond shape, which is why the shape in the ground is a daimond, not a square it's just at a wierd angle due to distance and angles etc

Tien saved the world here by keeping him from absorbing her here.
