8:11 ‘Porkchops are pretty terrible’ *AM I A JOKE TO YOU* (At the time of making this joke, the account was called ‘Mr Porkchop’. I have since changed it)
Porkchop literally gives you like half of your hunger back! Also, no I totally never ate you or your friends, your delicious, mouth-watering friends...
I’d love to see a 1.18 revisit to this concept. I think you’d have more farms to include, and I know your stance on ghast tears would change quite a bit.
@@Haluna11 Netherite was introduced in 1.16, and end crystal mining is the best way to ancient debris (I know people stan bed mining but end crystals and TNT are not only safer but chainable)
@@GSBarlev beds are way easier to obtain unlike end crystals which are expensive af and tnt requires creepers which can be risky and arent always available, hence why a lot do bed mining
@@fbiagentmiyakohoshino8223 Compared to beds, end crystals are - safer (can be detonated from a literal arm's throw) - chainable - stackable (even if you carry your beds as raw components, 64 beds takes up *five slots* minimum--192 wool, 48 logs, 1 crafting table--vs *two*--end crystal, obsidian, egg or snowball) I'd also dispute your "way easier to obtain" as a universal statement. Lategame--by which I mean once you've been on your world or SMP long enough to actually want to build farms, you'll probably already have an blaze rod farm, a ghast farm for gunpowder, and if you didn't come back from the End with enough pearls to make it to the farlands, I applaud your ability to shoot with a pumpkin on your head. That leaves the glass, which as Mumbo comments on in S08, is really the long pole in the tent, but few librarians in a villager trading hall will sell you all the glass you'll ever need, and you'll even turn a profit if you reserve some of that glass to sell to clerics (bonus: they've got pearls on sale) or cartographers.
@@palashverma3470sure, but its only good in the short term, but after you set up a gold farm and a trading hall, golden carrots are much better for the long haul.
Ephraim Gaming I do a lot of fishing for enchanted books on my world and I have an abundance of fish, and I barely kill animals in game since I have so much raw fish to smelt.
He had a shop selling his super cheaty books. What a hypocrite. He is so much more dignified being afk for 1 hour and trading pumpkins for a mending book then just being afk overnight. The only issue with afk fish farms are for large servers that are bogged down by inactive players.
Ice farms are one of the best ones! A super fast, easy and practical way of getting water and so much better than using buckets, since you don't have to go to a water source fill then and they can stack. Pretty useful even to build various other farms
@@DanTheThirdy no you need to two buckets of water to make an infinte water source that doesn't mean make 2 buckets just make 1 bucket but you need 2 sources worth of water to make an infinte water soruce
Aaron Mueller AFK fishing farms a different. They basically give you enchanted books for free if you have time. Other farms just give you one specific source.
Not to mention Iskall the diplomat! He literally began partnerships with Stress on the topic of ICE, and he DID NOT build something in Mumbo's base! Two people care about ice. Also... SciCraft! A lot of people care about ice?! In fact, I am even wondering what Mumbo thinks about ice: he goes all "nobody cares about ice", and yet bought an ice chicken! The Sahara diplomat was wondering about that in his NOT building things in Mumbo's base! Iskall may as well make a diorite base next season... and NOT blow it up at all!
"If you make a fish farm, you dont deserve to watch my channel" *Mumbo's video on 50 steps to make a good survival world* "You need to make an afk fish farm, ok because you can get all sorts of loot"
I would like to see Mumbo revisit this for 1.16 or 1.17. With things like Piglin trading, slightly reworked villager mechanics and even entirely new farms like gold or basalt, yeah. I think it would be interesting
That was before. He has come to his senses Just 10 yrs ago. He was 16yrs old. Like me now... What am I doing with my life... Anyways people change quickly nowadays. Fortnite nolonger has this vibe of "beating Minecraft" some say it is dying. Like almost all other FPS games. Also FPS not only mean first person shooter. But Frames per second. And fortnite is actually 3rd person shooter.
@@aktw1234 how people change quickly I tend to elongate my point because I basically type what's in mah mind. Speaking of elongate. I made a musketeer joke on Orange juice's video about how Elon musk is elongates musketeer
I like having this video around not really for the rankings, but more for the comprehensive list of Farms cause i wanna make a farm for every farmable item!
Both are useful and both have been patched out, probably for the better. I wouldn't have had that opinion before actually building real legitimate farms, but after seeing the work and payoff for most farms, it really makes the afk fish farms and especially zero tick farms seem extreeeemely cheaty.
Walking Talking Stephen Hawking I can see why on a multiplayer server but on a single player world I don’t think it matters how cheaty something is, especially if it’s like your 59th world.
Mumbo at beginning of Hermitcraft 6: builds AFK fish farm in starter bunker Mumbo after 97 episodes of Hermitcraft 6: disowns any viewers who build AFK fish farms
What you do not know is that after the video the dropped ice block fell back to the top of the chunk then fell on top of the list making an SSS tier by itself for the Ice Farms and Ice in general.
@@kubatutak9452 If you have Silk Touch. Takes a little more set up to get to than rails, but after that, Ice (Regular, Packed/Compressed, or Blue) + boat is the way to go if you don't need the transit automated. Though you might be able to with a redstone system using slime blocks, sticky pistons and pressure plates. Depends on if getting smacked in the back of the head by a slime block moves the player while they're in a boat. Timing the pushes will definitely be on the finicky side.
Watched this video when it came out, played minecraft casually and haven't played it in a few years at the time, so I didn't know for instance how on earth you could farm gold and why you would event want to. Really interesting to come back to this a few years of watching Hermitcraft later now knowing how most of these farms work and why you build them
Yeah this one really confused me. I get that ice is nerfed by having elytra with fireworks as you can go as fast as you probably need to with none of the work, but boats on ice are still great for nether travel and require no resources once built
@@forkevbot Mumbo hating on Ice is just a joke of his. His base in Hermitcraft 6 is full of ice and even said its useful. The joke started with his banter with Iskall regarding the ice.

but farming wise, at the time of recording, steak farms also have leather making them slightly better, now however hogglins make them closer, still would say steak and leather farm is better though because you don't have to leave the overworld to make one
mumbo: what do i need potato's for??!! also mumbo in hermitcraft: makes a huge potato farm and becomes one and spent tons of time building many potato stands
Tier list MC-Java 1.17 needs a revisit. There are some farms that you can chain together like a ramping wheat and melon bonemeal farm; Brown shroom fuel farm; sorting/ feeding system; and super smelter. I think those things should place together decently high on the list.
@@parakeetiscool7647 you wouldn't happen to know how you could "farm" Iron, Gold, or Diamonds, would you? Those stone resource block types were the main reason I posted this comment, like how would you farm them?
5persondude gold I believe is through gold nuggets, so some varied nether mobs (pigman for sure, but I think also wither skeleton) I believe iron is through iron golems but I’m not sure
I actually used my Zombie Spawner to create my Villager hall. I afk for 10 minutes and take all the Zombie Villagers, then take them to the trading hall and heal them. Worked a charm
Mumbo: afk fish farms are cheaty. Mumbo: *has one in his starter base* Edit: Mumbo: “if you’ve built a afk fish farm, you don’t deserve to be watching my vids.” Also mumbo: *doesn’t deserve to watch his own vids*
mumbo : if you build afk fish farms you dont deserve to be on my youtube channel also mumbo but in hermitcraft season 5 : *builds multiple afk fish farms*
Mumbo: wheat farm is E, you can only get bread, cookies or sort of that. Also mumbo: bread farm is C, I guess? Me: WTF BREAD IS LITERALLY MADE OUT OF WHEAT WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT
koshkamatew what's even worse is that when talking about the wheat farm he said it was a villager powered farm, but bread farms are the ones villager powered
Yeah. They're essentially the same thing. Plus, they are easy to make and feed 3 hunger points so they're really nice. And the farms are very easy to make too. I'd say they should be at least a B.
@@j445m1n3 other than berries, the rest are farmable in 1.13 as well. Heck, Grian built a pickle farm based on a scicraft design; and Xisuma built a pretty big turtle farm to stock his turtle shop; both on the hermitcraft server. Phantom farms are a bit more tricky to build, but also definietly possible. ever since they're in the game.
