I disagree although it is a lot better live than the album but that’s cuz most songs were played on real instruments. Reputation is still my least favorite album even after seeing it live and I’ve been to every concert she’s had since Fearless tour.
I don't think I related to anything more then "I'm still not over folklore, I haven't begun to process evermore, because I haven't even processed lover to be honest"
"Red is the album that deserved better, and by that i do mean a Grammy" You could've spoken any language, but you chose to speak facts. Also as a Metallica superfan it resonates because the same thing happened to them. I'm still not over it.
@@AllySheehan Please listen to it again. And again. And again. It is SO DAMN BEAUTIFUL! And so is You Are In Love. Please listen again 😁 Also, way too many 1989 songs in Emily. Is there really any category below the 2nd tier?
"right where you left me" is literally my favorite song of all time. the line "If our love died young, I can't bear witness"" gets me every single time.
"help im still at the restaurant" is literally me so specifically spot on i cry every time and the melody is so chilling and haunting and sorrowful and sad and beautiful UGH
@@jubbithe everybody moved on following it is just so painfully real. it’s like, this tragedy just happened and it’s a shock, it shattered her, and before we can even process that line everyone has moved on and we don’t even know how deep it cut her yet, but this song is her telling us. it’s stunning
My God Tier is just "Ivy," "Gold Rush," and "Tis the Damn Season" all sitting around a magical, enchanted golden table in a whimsical forest listening to all of Taylor's other songs for all eternity.
I just passed the moment where Ally says she doesn't know why Right where you left me is a bonus song and started scrolling the comments because I literally told this to my best friend yesterday. I am deeply addicted to Right where you left me and it's just... I can't.
Is this my second time watching this almost an hour long video? Yes Am I still watching it because it holds a special place in my heart as the first Ally video I ever saw? Also Yes 😊
I think it’s really interesting how everyone processes grief differently. Folklore and evermore also came out when my mom was really sick and I was her caregiver. She ended up passing away march 2021 and honestly Soon You’ll Get Better, Epiphany, MARJORIE, and now Bigger Than The Whole Sky are some of my favorite Taylor Swift songs! I feel so seen and comforted. I specially LOVE Marjorie 🧡🧡🧡
I legit can't listen to it without crying. throughout my life I've just lost a lot of friendships, and dorothea really captures that, it specially reminds me to someone who used to be my best friend
Red Taylors Version is something special. Usually when an album gets over an hour long you start to look for songs that should have been cut to make it shorter. But that album is over 2 hours long of pure amazingness and that puts it in a special category of the greatest albums of alltime. I don't know any other pop albums anywhere near length that are also that good the whole way.
i agree but also some of the songs have been played so much that you cant appreciate them as much as when u first heard them- but i know places i was so sad when that was in emily in paris 😭
no it doesn't. 😭 i literally hear it all the time on the radio to this day and i'm kind of tired of it. i would put it in "marvelous tune" because it's a good song, just overplayed in my opinion. the music video i really love though
Bestie are you okay now that we know Babe will be on Red (TV)??? Also - Wonderland is my #1 Taylor song of all time and I SCREAMED when you gave her the recognition she deserves 👏🏻
Wouldn't it be so amazing if she re-recorded Better than Revenge as the original and theeeeen another one with completely different lyrics as she would do it today? Like, complete change of perspective?? It sounds like something she would do
Honestly I think that reputation is one of the best albums ever made by anyone, like EVER. It just has such a vibe to it, an anger to it, a redemption to it that’s just so wholesome. But I see your arguments with the placements of reputation songs on your tier list, I get that it might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but the message behind it is freaking amazing even if you don’t like every song.
Gold Rush it's also my favorite song from evermore. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one that see this song as the best song on the album, even if this album has songs like Champagne problems, tolerate it and etc. Gold rush it's in my top 3 favorite songs from TS, just behind Mirrorball and Cruel Summer.
@@HG-fu5cf it’s so repetitive. I don’t see how you could possibly favor gold rush when evermore gave us songs like evermore, marjorie, coney island, cowboy like me, ivy, etc. all amazing songs. gold rush is meh.
I love soon you'll get better as well but I don't revisit it much because my mom died around the time this album came out & it still makes my break down in an ugly every time I hear it ! 😭💔
My biggest regret is dedicating that song to my ex bc it took so long to be able to hear it again. I learned my lesson to not dedicate Taylor songs bc taylor is mine and I’m gatekeeping her to my own thoughts now lol.
Love how she said every July 9th something amazing happens in her life. Not this video being released on July 9th and is now her most viewed video and has given her so many new followers. Keep up the good work Ally!
When she put delicate in i forgot that you existed and look what you made me do in emily in paris i thought i had an heart attack. I was definitly shocked. Please justice for these masterpieces
Look what you made me do just wasn't a good song to me. It's not very good lyrically, the vibe is off and it's lacking dynamics. I wish she never wrote it that's how heavily I dislike it
@@lionmuesli4321 finally someone else who gets it!! i hate when swifties defend look what you made me do, that song is really the lowest of the low in taylor's discog. I love rep but that song is so bad
Okay, I am still at the speak now part of the video, and agree with EVERYTHING but, SPEAK NOW the song, it is a bop. A lot of Taylor's songs are unrelateable but for some reason I LOVE SPEAK NOW doesn't deserve emily in paris.
no there quite literally is not!!!! i mean it when i say that 30 seconds is as good OR BETTER THAN the rest of the album combined - and fearless is a flawless album
my fav song is honestly hoax rn 😩 like ik there’s so many more iconic songs with better bridges and everything but the songwriting is just so heartbreaking and the cliff line just hits me in my feels so much i actually love it sm
Should’ve Said No is in my God Tier. Being a little 10 year old 4th grader at the Fearless concert, my first ever concert. And the set up for the Should’ve Said No finale took a little longer than normal so I thought we had cheered her on for an encore and suddenly they’re ripping open her costume change and the stage starts RAINING WORDS?!?!?! Core memory.
My all time favorites are probably dont blame me, cruel summer, wildest dreams, and our song. Very different singing styles but I enjoy them and the vibes. 22 gives off the same youthful vibes too.
Hey, just making sure you’re still alive after her Red tracklist announcement last week since we now know we’re getting her version of Babe AND Better man AND the 10 minute version of All too well AND a bunch of songs we’ve never heard before including ones a lot of us had heard about and hoping to finally hear like one of the other songs she wrote with Ed, the one she wrote with Mark Foster, the one she wrote with Lori McKenna and the one she mentioned in the Lover journals! Like I was literally hoping for all those things but couldn’t have imagined we’d get ALL of them and then some?! Like she honestly couldn’t *possibly* have given us more. Like sure she didn’t give us the Hunger Games soundtrack songs which she could’ve replaced Ronan with since it’s too sad for most people to listen to anyway but personally it doesn’t even matter to me that much because her non-album songs are way less listened to anyway and we’re getting so much already that how can we complain?
I like gold rush a lot, too! It grew on me a lot this past year. It always reminded me of my celeb crush, and it's so upbeat yet also sad. However, when I had a short-term contract job, I got a crush on a coworker, and gold rush also started reminding me of him, especially the line about the Eagles t-shirt, and so that made it even wilder to me loool.
Exactly ITS GOD TIER OVI my fav part is the first part that went "cuz there we are again on that little town street you almost ran the red cuz you were looking over at me" chefs kiss 💋
the very long bridge is just incredible. maybe we got lost in translation (confused) maybe i asked for too much (blaming yourself) but maybe this thing was a masterpiece (darling it was good) till you tore it all up (anger) running scared (hits close) i was there i remember it all too well (we are expected to detach after breakups but let’s be honest half of my heart is right where he left me). and you call me up again just to break me like a promise, so casually cruel in the name of being honest (i love the angst) i’m a crumpled up piece of paper lying here cuz i remember it all all all (never related so hard) they say alls well that ends well (they do tho 😢) but i’m in a new hell every time you double cross my mind (fr whenever i think abt it, i cant breathe). and then, time won’t fly it’s like i’m paralyzed by it, id like to be my old self again but i’m still trying to find it (healing is hard, feel like i’ll never be the same). also, the last rendition of the chorus, when i loved you so, back before you lost the one real thing you’ve ever known it was rare (yk, i gave my blood sweat and tears for this, just to learn that you never cared). also, did the twin flame bruise paint you blue (not sure exactly the deepest meaning but it resonates with me, like obviously did the fire we once had in our relationship scar you and leave you hollow inside? cuz same) and just between us did the love affair main you all too well (it’s giving question, but just something abt the phrase mail you all too well is so heartbreaking + true
Ahhh Dorothea is one of my favorite evermore songs😭I love that it is the other half of tis the damn season (ANOTHER ALL-TIME FAVORITE). The perspective of the guy in their hometown seeing Dorothea making it big, reminiscing, and saying I’ll always be here if anything… ahhh but really the music and vibes are IT. I feel it in my heart and soul!😭🌟
What I would like to say about INTHAF: I will say it, it is definitely objectively one of Taylors worse songs, but I love it so much because of the time in my life I first heard it. I was struggling to make and keep friends in school for the first 3 years at my new school and it felt like whoever I became friends with would disappear two minutes later. Then in my 4th year in that school, I finally found an amazing group of friends and they made me feel so happy. That was the time I discovered this song and I loved it so much as it represented the fact that after all my troubles and hardships with making friends, I had finally found my group and was finally happy. It makes me emotional every time I listen to it and perfectly represents how grateful I am for my friends and how they make me feel.
My Favorites from each album. Debut: Should’ve said no Fearless: The Way I loved you Speak Now: Haunted Red: All too well 1989: this love Rep: New Year’s Day Lover: The Archer Folklore: Invisible String Evermore: Champagne Problems Midnights: vigilante

I'm LIVING for Long Live and State Of Grace in god tier, those are my 2 favorite songs ever and the songs that saved my life, I'm so happy they're finally getting the recognition they deserve!
@@AllySheehan I Don't Understand Why The Story Of Us underperformed singles wise Because I'm British, Speak Now Singles were criminally underrated and besides mine, all of speak now didn't chart
I feel like “it’s nice to have a friend” fits the vibe of folklore/evermore better and would probably get listened to more if it was in one of those albums
Even though I did disagree with a couple of choices I didn't regret watching this 45 minute video at all! I found my self joining in the conversation when u were talking about it because none of my friends like Taylor so it was a good release ahaha
@@elene_hbm hey this was 4 months ago … compare to my current ranking 1) 1989 2) reputation 3) Speak Now 4) Red 5) Fearless 6) Lover 7) Midnights 8) folklore 9) evermore 10) Taylor Swift
Dorothea to me is one of BEST all time. I always picture myself at a big grand piano and its sunset in the summer. And the way she intimately describes the innocence of that bond *chefs kiss* and her VOCALS rip meeee 💯
i think i’ve listens to this song but i don’t remember it at all, i need to brush up on evermore/folklore (and most albums other than red, rep, and midnights tbh that’s just when i was listening, i went in and out of being a swiftie bc i didn’t actually have headphones or music streaming services for a long time)
loved this video sm but lemme just state my case for it's nice to have a friend: taylor is a master at words at this points, which is why "it's nice to have a friend", such a simple, childish statement is so good and intentional. the beautiful, haunting tune perfectly encapsulates the sound of nostalgia. like, how did she do that? those simple instrumentals throughout the verses points to how simple everything was back then. she lists off things you did when you were a kid like snapshots of memories you have. this song is so underrated and i love it ❤️
Thank you for this gorgeous comment! I honestly love the lyrics (and had a TikTok go viral about it this week) I think it’s just the plucking sounds make me feel kinda eerie?
@@AllySheehan listen to ”It´s nice to have a friend” and think sapphic, then it hits compleatly different. Also try that with ”the one”. That song didn´t make any sense to me, why would you dream about a guy meeting Women online? Then I started picknick up on the line ”rosé flowing with your chosen family” and I was like oooooo, I get it now. I’m not that well versed in LBTQ-language, but even I know that ”chosen family” is a gay term and rosé is something you are more likely to drink with a Women that men. Since the discovery of ”the one” I started hearing more things, and I think the clues are a bit too loud to be ignored: hiding in the closet in ”Seven” etc etc.
@@AllySheehan I totally get it babe!! I believe there is no bad Taylor Swift and I’ve noticed that there are swifties who love the old stuff more and the others who stan rep and lover. We all love Taylor so that’s what matters🥰❤️
"It's Nice To Have A Friend" isn't about actual friendship, though it could be interrupted as such. It's really about companionship and intimacy in a relationship, being your partner's best friend. Hence the lyrics, "something gave you the nerve to touch my hand" and "call my bluff, call you babe". There are only subtle signals like that thrown in because, at the end of the day, what you really need is comfort and friendship in a relationship, not being all over each other and being all mushy gushy. The beat is very simple and calming because once you get into a certain stage in your relationship, you feel calm and at ease around this person, rather than being nervous and full of butterflies. I hope I helped you understand the song a little better. Have a good day Ally :)
