Adding a little bit to all of the tiers, including some of my very favorite S tiers and a couple of truly tragic F tiers. Just two more videos left in this series!

I love the Sco. I feel sorry for our older molds/models. They were the most realistic looking at the time when they came out. I know I just was horse crazy and they were as close to having a real horse as I was going to get😊 these new ones are mostly spectacular. I'm excited to see the final lineup and see what you have in store for us!

Yay, I was having a horrible day with relapsing with my mental health, so happy to see a new video up!❤❤ The Saddlebred weeny is uhm really cute from the side! But please don't let me see his front face again... 😰👻👽 Salnero looks more like a Lipizzaner to me! But I think I have been watching to many dressage videos, Rubacan is wow just wow!🧐🧐💚 Sandamingo has a certain charm to it, well at least the palmino paint coat does. And Damino is cute but not as detailed, the soft look is just comfy. We don't speak of Roman or the leopard appy- The scratching foal is so cute, just a great pose!🥴🥴🥶 Sea Star looks like a skin walker stay away from me- OMG nope nope never, nightmares tonight! 😱😱😈 Secretariat's face is uhm cute but at the same time giraffe like its cute. And the triple crown version with the roses are a nice touch. The glossy frame pinto looks really nice on the mold swag.😎 I love the semi rearing mustang, like you said would be a great conga, a solid mold there's really a lot to love, the grulla tobiano is very nice love the muscle definition.💯💛 Yasmine is a really cute mold! I think she is plain but has potential, arabs are so cute can't go wrong with them.💕 Sham is swag, like a cool dad at a bbq. 😂🙃😎 Sherman morgan is not looking like a breyer at first sight, he reminds me of a old war horse or somthing of the sort! I love him truly he reminds me of my papa sweet. But he looks like that one minor at a party where no one told him there would be alcohol- 😛 THE SHETLAND PONY IS SCARY IDK WHY GUAH, oooh wait that blue roan sabino thoooo, and the glossy oh my-😰😏 Chris hess did the shire dirty we abouta fist fight- 😡😡 THAT SHIRE GELDING HOT DAUM, woo what a nice mold! I need this horsey in my life. ✋❤ The show jumping warmblood is nice, a bit skinny looky for a show jumper, giving pony vibes not really much of a showjumper but hes nice. Yeah that tobiano is uhm idk not hitting right. And washington is really awesome! 😌❤ The show stance arab mare just does not do it for me shes scary, shes like a mean grandma- 😭😨 Silver is truely breath taking wow so minty fresh! 🍃🍃 Smart chickolina is really nice a great stock horse mold, JOTAH IS WOW JUST YESSS! ❤❤💫 Smarty jones is nice I feel tb vibes, but I get stocky/appy, Ooh that guy fee whatever is uhm just no please... I LOVE SMOKEY so cuteee love the small lip flare! 😋🧡💚 Dwendeh is just stunning such a amazing model love spanish horses! 🥵💜 As for ideas I have been up all night no sleep so my brain is failing me! Smoky was another model Chris Hess did from a drawing in a book called Smoky the Cowhorse by Will James. The illustration was of Smoky shying over a rattlesnake and it actually doesn't show the whole horse. He's another case of Chris doing the best with what he had which wasn't a whole lot. And Sea Star...well, what can I say about that poor boy?

Smarty Jones mold wasn’t originally supposed to be a portrait of the real Thoroughbred. It was created as a stock horse but then the real Smarty Jones captured the hearts of the horsey public & Breyer wanted to cash in on the “Smarty Party”. Concerned the hype would die down before a new portrait sculpt could be put in production they used a new mold that was ready - a mold of a racing Quarter Horse. As such, if you show anything on the Smarty Jones mold it’s best to show it as an Appendix Quarter Horse (solid colors), Appendix Paint or Racing Appaloosa. As with Sea Star, Chris Hess sculpted Smoky from a single illustration in the book Smoky the Cow Horse by Will James. I absolutely hate Zafirah with a passion. She perfectly shows everything that is wrong with modern halter Arabians. Squished seahorse face, which causes breathing & dental problems in real horses, toothpick legs that cannot hold up to being ridden or worked for any period of time & front legs that are too far forward which throws the balance off when real horses move. Real horses that look like Zafirah & Ashquar have a host of health problems because of their horrendous conformation. It is my personal belief that Breyer should not make models that showcase this irresponsible breeding & make it available to the general public who have no idea how harmful & detrimental such a conformation is the actual living horses. Sculpts by Chris Hess are not detailed & refined because the technology at the time didn’t really allow for it but at least they show horses that are conformationally sound & healthy. So I’ll take a Hess sculpt over lots of the modern ones every time. I prefer my models to show a strong, healthy horse. I’m not knocking anyone who likes the modern sculpts since preferences are highly individualized (that’s why their called personal preferences!) so you like the models you like & there’s no need to feel badly about liking or not liking a particular mold. Always collect the models you like! If it speaks to you - get it! That’s why most models in my collection of 800+ are sculpts by Chris Hess.

That's interesting about the Smarty Jones mold, and I guess it therefore makes sense why I always got racing stock horse vibes from it. Thank you, as always, for the info!

Sea Star was sculpted from a single illustration that was the cover of the book Sea Star Orphan of Chincotegue by Marguerite Henry. The illustration shows a foal standing on a beach in front of water with birds flying overhead. It was by Wesley Dennis, one of the most well known illustrators of childrens books. He did almost all of the drawing for the Marguerite Henry books as well as the Billy & Blaze series. Google “Wesley Dennis Sea Star” and you will see the drawing that Breyer gave Chris Hess to use as reference for the mold, which looks exactly like it. And that’s all Hess had for the sculpt - one drawing by Wesley Dennis.

After looking up both covers, I do recognize the Sea Star one from when I was a kid. I'm sure Hess did the best he could with what little he had to go on - I'll have plenty to comment on in my reflection video after Part 10. ;)

Billy and Blaze books were by C W Anderson, whose work in balance was more realistic than Dennis', but overwhelmingly black and white.

That’s right. How could I forget C.W. Anderson. His work is amazing. Thanks for the correction.
