SM doesn't actually care much about base level talent when they scout. They believe the skills in singing, dancing, and rapping can be taught. They actually take more time to cast by looks, since that can't really be taught.

@@DiamondWhite91 your point maybe correct. However, I watched fancams from her recent concerts, and even attended wrap-up concert in April. I can tell you she improved way better than the past. She learned from a new vocal coach who once taught lots of singers such as P!nk. Right now, no matter how bad her voice condition is, you still can hear her singing is more stable and less effort in high notes, especially English songs. You said this show was audio-edited. Maybe. But based on other fancam's videoes, I believe this performance was real cause she raised her singing ability so much.

Even though Jessica used to be one of the group's main vocalists, Tiffany also has improved her vocal a lot since her departure from SM as well. Overall, it's up to one's preference, and it's best not to compare them (since both have different techniques and vocals).

This vocal queen finally getting some recognition, it's funny the reason she's so underrated is because of "SONES" who nitpick her performances from her voice to the way she dances, even when she's doing fantastic and there is literally nothing to complain about (and that's the majority of her performances but with the way some loud "SONES" complain about her you wouldn't know that). Why is Tiffany such a magnet for insecure idiots as a punching bag in her own fandom I'll never know, probably because she's the complete opposite of them.

I’ve been a Tiffany fan since 2010, and I know how different is her singing style from mow and then. Before she have to range on what their grp needed to the point that she strained her voice a lot (solo perf can prove how much she struggle on it) but after her US debut and different song genre she now have the control over her voice and how smoothly she belt it out. Watched her concert last January and I couldn’t be happier listening to her singing with such ease and passion. I love her in SNSD but I’m much in love with how she didn’t stop learning and let herself freely take over her career 🧡

it because the vocal range :v SM choose song base on Jessica and Taeyeon range, so that Tifany have to sing out of her range to fit in. Even some song is too high for taeyeon cause Jess can sing higher than tae. But for sure that only tae in snsd can sing with control and good technich

With a vocal tone as unique as that in K-pop along with her legendary status, there's no way she wouldn't get recognized. Most, if not all, female idols have studied Girls' Generation because they're a textbook example of what a K-pop girl group should be so no wonder those female idol panelists recognized her. Also, GG's vocalists have some of the most unique tones in all of K-pop that not only do you hear their voice a lot because of their popularity and success, you'd also be able to single them out of all vocalists very easily.
