Finally!... I'm from the Caribbean where even the white folks are tanned brown... this is actually a really good reference for me. I live in a rainbow of browns. Thank you for this.
I have this in my cart about to buy but wanted to see how it performs. Gorgeous. Glad to see how this works on dark skin as that’s a massive challenge and relatively under addressed. Would be interesting to see what kind of results you can get by adding complementary color contrast filters on lights.
thank you for the informational video. and such an interesting photoshoot, the photos are amazing. that the filter adds a bit warmth to the under-exposed part is so interesting. i have a question about using the filter, is this the same as changing the in-camera WB to a bit warmer? and do you need to adjust the camera WB setting while using the filter?
No, it's not the same as adjusting the camera's WB because the filer also impacts the light by giving it a bit of a glow and it also makes the image softer. As far as adjusting the camera's WB while using the filter you would only do so base on the vision you are ultimately going for.
do you have more footage that I can see taken with this filter?.. there is only the warm version availible at the moment and im going to film a short documentairy about a boxer.. hope to hear from you soon :) Kind regards Johnny from the neherlands
Here's another video I can think of which I did using the filter...hopefully it's helpful to you. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BVNAElp1y_k.html&ab_channel=ErnestoSuePhotography
Here's another video. I used the filter for the intro video at 0:22 seconds into the video and for the photos. I hope it's helpful to you. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RCPZj7s9aQs.html
You can do either option. Obviously with gels it's a bit more difficult to work with as opposed to a light which is already tungsten as all you have to do is just turn it on.
Nice images. This filter seems to especially warm the darks and midtones while retaining most of the white in the highlights. I'm curious how you would establish the WB for this. Do you first lock in the WB using a 40% gray card and then add the filter?
Nice video and amazing photos! I have a question, what about those Tiffen Fx plug ins that simulate this diffussion filters, do you think are they any good or worth using them?
Great question. I think if you want a better quality effect it would be best to use the real thing. That said, I suppose it is possible to get a nice effect using the plugin and it may be a cheaper way to go. So, in conclusion, get the real thing if you can afford it I wouldn't get the software plugin.
Hi Ernesto, when you decided to choose the 1/8, what focal lengths were you basing your decision on and was it more for video or photography? Thank you.
@@ErnestoSuePhotography Thank you for the quick reply! With the time you have had with it now, are you finding the 1/8 enough and are you still finding uses for it?
@@therenderer4726 1/8 is definitely enough for me I don't want anything higher. This is a specialty item and I only use it when doing creative cinematic portraits which I wasn't able to do all of 2020 because of COVID but when that is over I plan on bringing folks back into my home studio.
Thank you for the feedback. As it relates to the last image being oversaturated, no, I don't think it is. In fact, I desaturate my images just a tad to help with the final cinematic look.
@@ErnestoSuePhotography thanks for replying! But there must be a misunderstanding, I didn’t say “oversaturated”, I said that I thought it was a bit heavy on the Sharpening, and not sure if that was on purpose or maybe something to do with how the video processed the image?
Hi, do you think two ms300 will be enough to use on white backdrop to create hi\key portrait in combination with ad600 pro? Do they have enough power for this purpose?
