Thanks for producing this informative video, and also saying that it applied to the Midas. When I purchased my 2022 Midas 24RT in January 2023 from a dealer in Albuquerque, they also ran RV antifreeze through the Truma and did not bypass because they told me that they had experienced freeze damage due to some trapped residual water in the Truma. I live in south Texas so I rarely have to winterize, but I’ll always follow your advice and bypass the Truma. Also, since there is no isolation valve between the pump and freshwater tank, I’m surprised that the pump is able to draw antifreeze because the pump’s suction is open to the air via the freshwater tank. Obviously this doesn’t seem to be a problem because it’s your standard design. Finally, my Midas has its own water lines challenges when operating in cold weather, but that’s for another video.

No need to remove the water canister filter? Drain the low points? And won’t you need to un-bypass the Truma in the spring?

Sorry but you are Wrong, If you turn the city/Dry valve to dry to suck antifreeze up out of a bucket or jug the pump will only suck air from the empty fresh water tank because it's easier to suck the air out of an empty tank than it is to suck a liquid out of a container. if you turn it back to city it will close the line to the fresh tank allowing the pump suck the antifreeze out of the container thru the pump and into the rest of the system, Give it a try and you will see what I mean. 2022 LW

Thanks for clarifying. Regardless, I don’t trust anything that I can’t see (for instance I have a “T” connection upstream of my antifreeze point, and I can’t figure out how switching from Dry to City will isolate both lines). For my Midas 23RT I added a quarter turn isolation valve (in common header just upstream of antifreeze connection) for positive isolation of city water and the fresh water tank to avoid my confusion for the rare instances that I might need to antifreeze.
