Joseph Gonzales ,hello brother, getting into Pipe will have to be your top priority. The reason why am saying this is once you start welding pipe you will never want to go back, and that is where all the money is at. Getting hold of a school like ,South Coast Welding, or Alabama Pipe Welder’s.

Have you instructors have HAD Any CVN'S ,Rockwell, and Tensile tests done to make sure the mechanical Properties are not affected by the heat that high heat. 300 Amps Seems Extremely Excessive. Now having a water cooled Machine in a shop would be really the only circumstance you would do that.

Jason Detreich .....questionable on the vertical,specially on the bottom of the pipe,best they can do is flush?but most likely it's a sucked back.....on the horizontal though,hmmmmm....you gotta have a land on the prep for sure maybe a 1/16 or 3/32 ?? did they mention how much gap they have? Or I just miss it? I think it's doable with these parameter...3/32 land 3/32 gap and 1/8 filler metal and no torch angle so you gotta weld it free hand it also means that your travel speed is faster than normal and you gotta keep that pressure on the filler metal.....if there's undercut on the first try...I'll adjust it on the land the next try
@codetalker3135
@codetalker3135 4 года назад
I was wonder about what the root pass look like but I’m sure the bottom half of the vertical weld has some serious suck back and top side might be ok. I tried this on a position weld in the rack I ran a tight 3/32 gap at about 160 and pointed the tungsten straight into the bevel and it came out with some really bad suck back. So I had to cut it out n open up the bevel the to about 5/32. I really wanted to see these guys root pass on the vertical coupon.

@@kabihog5789 these guys were putting in the root way slow. So what is the point? Double the amps and a slower ugly root

There's literally a pinhole at the top of the weld at the very end of the video.. wtf?

Looks rough root pass inside bevel, bet he had to grind afterwards...,tight gap and they wont show root on inside pipe specially on the bottom where he cannot push metal inside with that tight of the gap. That 1/16 gap will get shut by the time he's done bottom welding. Those dudes freehand because it takes craftmanship to open gap walk cup and root it properly within WPS amp requirements, on that heat they're literally degrade quality of steel specially of any alloy.

I really curious on the bottom side of that 5G root pass with that much heat and no gap. I’m surprised it wasn’t showed. Great video BTW and God bless. Haven’t been on a turnaround in a while. Go get em

Lo único que no saben estos científicos es que no se debe trabajar con la cabezota pegada al tubo, o son miopes.
