Thank you Jodi! Im building a cage right now out of 1.75x.120 tubing and I keep having to revert to my mig welder for the difficult notches. These videos really help me. Much appreciated
Hey Doug, do you mind me asking where do you buy your .83 chromoly tubing ? is there any seller you can recommend? we need to pick some up for a cage we're putting together. thanks a bunch for your answer
Here’s a video he did a couple weeks ago using .063 CM. Gets into detail on filler selection etc. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-88fBukKg0x4.html
Hi Jody, I am from South Africa........your videos are so interesting and educational that I went out and bought a TIG welder. Please keep the awsome videos comming !
Hi guys, I’m from Knysna, South Africa. I met Jody at Fabtech in Atlanta a couple weeks ago. Awesome guy & awesome show this year. If you ever have a chance, go to Fabtech ,
Hi Jody excellent video sure wish they had this kind of stuff when we were starting out when we were kids I'm like you close to the end of my career you retiring soon for my present job but I enjoy your products I bought several and I will continue to support you
I would like tig weld some brewery tri fittings in a Beer keg...how to back purge ....and how to set up the weld fitting ?....drill 2" hole and just place 2" fitting in hole.????
i could leave this comment on any video but i leave it here. why in usa you use only foot pedal or scratch start? the company i am working for and almost everyone in my counry uses button to start on torch, every time we come to install something in usa there is someone asking wtf is that? a button in a torch?? and someone even is like holy shit that`s revolutionary a button! i mean the pedal is good for some jobs but what if you have to move around the object when you weld it? do you move the pedal every time? and if you use the scratch start what you do if you need a perfect electrode tip all the time? by no means i love your videos but i need answer to this :)
Hi Jody, I am intrested in your DVD collection but, do you have your welding Dvd's in a download version? I haven't used DVD players in years. I'm sure i can pick one up very cheap but I rather have them saved in my hard drive or my USB. My laptop (Mac) doesn't even have a dvd player anymore. Thank you.
Hi Jody, i would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the time and effort you devote to making videos to share a lifetime of knowledge with everyone out there willing to learn about our trade, never quit rolling out the quality work you do,i certainly learn every time i watch my weekly video, regards Hannes Nel all the way from Pretoria South Africa
I'm a beginner aluminum TIG student and I keep fouling the tip. I've been trying to keep a close arc but even with the lanthanated tungsten I'm still going to the grinder too many times to clean and sharpen. Could it be the gas flow (what is your setting for aluminum?) or contaminated gas? I've heard of whole tanks being polluted but other than that, I"m using the #6 ceramic cup, standard issue and I can't get my welds perfect.
Hi Jody, great videos, I really enjoy watching and learning how the pros with experience share their experience and feel I'm picking up lots of tips to try and bring me on with my welding skills... Just a quick question, do you deliver to the UK as I've seen lots of great things in your videos I'd love to order... Would you be willing to post as "samples" or "gifts" for import tax purposes once I order... Looking forward to your reply. Dan
Hi Jodi, why dose my arc wander like lightning. It moves off the weld path so being useless. I know you probably need more circumstantial description so fire back to me. Thanks for the vids. Regards John
Those tig fingers are the best thing ive ever used.. i still use mine daily.. i have 5 now thanks to you.. i believe every welder should have a tig finger..
Got my tig finger yesterday. Cheers from Australia! Jodie, my tig machine now n then makes a weird noise. Like chewbacca from Star Wars lol. Kind of a groan. Can’t see anything wrong. Anyone have a similar noise occur. It doesn’t interfere with the arc. Its a CIG Transtig 150.
Those 'dimes' like pretty good to me, Jody...but I haven't Tig welded for 14 odd years...Never 'pulsed' myself, never used that pedal only scratch start too....These videos make me want to go out and 'melt something'....
I need some help. Im trying to figure out what size wire i will need to support a 240v 50amp service. The distance it will need to cross is about 150-200 feet.
Jody, how do you judge "correct heating" based on the look of the inside of the tube? I heard this term on a video about welding DOCOL tubing by ME racing Sweden..
Hey Jody, I’m actually flying out to Texas on 12/10 for a job weld test! Now I have done flux core but they’re asking for some thick wire action. 1/16 flux on one inch, any tips to handle the jump?
Please send a kit of nozzle gas LANs for torch from 19 to 26 for me, here in Brazil, I follow the channel from the beginning there, and here mainly it is very difficult to find this kit of nozzles sir, I am a big fan who will give me the chance to learn more there close...
Jody, thanks for all the video content! I just finished watching your MIG basics series videos and have a question. I have NOT yet bought gas for my Hobart, so, are the techniques and process vastly different if I'm using flux core wire WITHOUT gas? I plan to get the gas and try that also, but thought it might be good to start with just flux core. Thanks again, Jim.
I wish I could weld 1\10 as good as you. I need some training big time. I love playing with my welder and working on my Jeep (loads of rust 👎) I have some frame work and floor pans to do. GREAT VIDEO!!
UK loving this vid.. Had to share with other young peeps who didnt understand it.. so i wana pass on this great vid.. were not here for long. .. so mite as well pass it on :)

Hello Jody I am 17 years old and i've been watching you for four years through out my high school. I gotten to projects on my sophomore year and i wanted to thank you for taking you're time to make these videos for us. I am extremely thankful for you Jody thank you so much! Have a good day :) I Hope you had a great thanksgiving!!
Gooday Jody from Down-under, thank you very much for all your work that goes into the videos. As a home welder I enjoy watching them and appreciate your professionalism and good grace to educate one and all. Keep up the great work. Best Regards Reid Lowe
Great views as always. Would it be too much to ask, that sometimes you might scuf your filler wire and/or the root of the joint. Sometimes it's hard to tell how much wire you are feeding as you move ahead. I think if the filler wire had surface texture, it would help. Thanks.
Great video as usual Jody. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. I have my dynasty 400 up and running and weldmonger has outfitted my speedway 320 along with a flex lock 230. Thank you so very much. Now I just need to get behind the hood and burn brother! PS STOP SELLING ME STUFF! I have enough consumables to tig the titanic together! Lol
As a shielding gas? Not for TIG, you can for MIG (but it makes the arc pretty unstable and it spatters more.) For TIG you can't because of contamination of the tungsten from my understanding. Hope that helps.
weldingtipsandtricks He is a beast! I’ve listened to your podcast with him about 5 times now. But, I’m pretty sure he’s running 1/16” ER70 on both passes. Occasionally he’ll run 3/32 on second pass.
I love your videos. I always get inspired to go practice in hopes of being able to do a amazing job as you do. Your videos are very helpful and the welding shots are great
So just to clarify, looks like the Furick #12 ceramic will work with a stubby gas lens on a 17 torch? I notice on the web site there is an adapter kit, however it looks like it isn't necessary based on this video. Just wanted to confirm before I made the order. Thanks.
yes the furick 12 ceramic is threaded and will work with either the stubby gas lens kit., stubby basic kit, or the adapter kit (by removing the o rings)...thanks
@@kf8575 thanks for the reply and info,i really want to try it but i still don have argon and tungsten to begin ☺ thats why im very curious what the weld looks like
