The woman who was attacked by Bokito had been warned by zoo employees that eye contact with a gorilla was dangerous, particularly when accompanied by a smile. However, she refused to stop, claiming that they had a special bond and that every time she smiled he smiled back at her. It sounds to me like she had a mental issue. To visit a wild animal 4 times a week, believe you had a special bond with it and that it was reciprocated is a bit ‘off’. It’s no wonder she disregarded what the zoo said; she thought that they just didn’t understand how close she and Bokito were. It wouldn’t surprise me if his motivation for escaping was to attack her. I’m very glad she wasn’t injured any worse than she was and relieved that the gorilla wasn’t put down.

I love how often people forget they’re called “wild animals” for a reason.

I lived in Spain for almost a year, and I remember they always had "when bulls attack" shows on TV. Most of the people I knew said they felt like the matadors deserved it whenever they got gored.

Dude... that’s the scariest ish is when someone else’s stupidity puts innocent people @ harm. People who have these wild animals as pets and then it gets lose & someone unexpecting, just minding their business is all of a sudden confronted by something that doesn’t even belong within hundreds of miles and the person is not infringing on the animals territory but now the animal is lose in a foreign terrain, scared & ready to maul some poor person who most likely wouldn’t even hurt that lil F’er but it doesn’t know that. That’s a real horror story.

My grandparents used to go to Aqua Caliente and watch the dog races, I was around 7 and they decided to go to a bull fight, the poor bull was almost dead by the time the matador went in the ring,I remember crying for the poor bull. We lived in El Cajon,Ca and after that bull fight they never went to another one, it was horrific.

He should've turned around ,but since he did ram the gate ...It probably would have helped to know about a safety feature that most cars have. It is an impact sensor that knows when you hit something (like if you wreck your car). The fuel shuts off so the car wont blow up or catch on fire. If this is triggered you need to push the button that is somewhere under your dash or by the pedals .Then the vehicle wouldve started. It is always good to know where the switch is on your car. Especially since a bad pothole can sometimes trip the shut off mechanism.

Whichever bonehead employee at that Boise zoo who left that Tiger cage open ought to be held accountable. It wouldn't be that hard to ascertain who the culprit was and important they find him/her because God knows how much her medical bills were and compensation for the a lifetime of PTSD.

so this is probably my person favorite story i have ever herd, thats so powerful such a real lesson and real truth abour species about the nature of standing up yourself againt the threat of destruction ... its like deserving life is standing up yourself against the threat of destruction and just being fortunate and those thing togeather could add up to deserving life when an incredibly dangerouse circumstance would have you end

Bokito did not get aggressive to her, she would be dead now. He wanted her to join his harem , to become one of his wife's but every time she came she just left him time after time and he got frustrated. Bokito is a great gorilla it's our hometown gorilla.

They call them "animal lovers?" Animal lovers do NOT like zoos or circuses. We don't like seeing them in captivity or cages, zoos or circuses being gawked at and clowned. No wild animal wants to be in a cage or have whips or do tricks, especially regal cats. I don't even like seeing birds in a cage or fish in an aquarium. LEAVE THEM FREE!

I wish people can just respect the animals and leave them alone where they live without human interaction

Getting attacked, eaten, mauled or killed by these wild beasts who are savage, ruthless, merciless and vicious can be a slow way to die and lose your life from these deadly animals.

Preserving the wilderness where these animals naturally habitat is the most sensible task that preserves wild animals and natural eco systems which are vital to human health also. There concentric circles of a diversity of species within an intact environment, (not visited by humans) there are the smallest and larger forms of life which all play a significant part and are essential to the balance that is maintained through an interdependent relationship. I am certain that Indigenous people understand very well the necessity of maintaining this balance. Unfortunately non traditional non Indigenous have not comprehended this wisdom and instead distress or destroy the environment and capture some wild animals to add to "their collection". The sad statement about zoo's and wildlife parks is of humankind's failure to protect, preserve, and defend wilderness for wild animals. I think there was a covenant with the Creator that humanity would not take all the land but promise to make sure there was a large enough wilderness for wild animals unimpeded by human activities, and as with so many agreements and promises that have been broken of course this one belongs on the stack with all the other promises broken. People have destroyed the balance and all havoc is being enacted with locusts closer to one's door and storms horrific. There is no break pedal but one could let off the accelerator pedal. All the horror and tragedy was unnecessary had they sent out into the world someone who truly had some affection for intelligence and then to have landed on either the Indigenous Islands or the main Indigenous continent, been of good manners and well intentioned the way an honest human being can, then he would have learned some great wisdom that would very beneficial to his people and the entire European. He could have returned with great news of how to live as free people and how to live in balance with life. Unfortunately a murderous monster was loosened and the worst holocaust of holy people was committed here, millions of Indigenous people were destroyed, animals, insects, birds, fish, flowers, and tree's. The depths of violence, exploitation, and crimes against humanity, and war crimes continue day to day. 'You can take the wild out of the wilderness, but you can't take the wilderness out of the wild.'

Lessons everyone should learn: Untrained people have no business being anywhere around dangerous animals. Never turn your back to an aggressive animal and try to outrun something that can run faster than you. Bulls high on testosterone aren't a danger to anyone that does not antagonize it and holds still. (it made me mad that the narrator did not mention that people involved in bull fighting use cruel and horrendous methods to make the bulls fight and they are slowly bled out from many wounds before a sword is thrust in their heart!) Find a way to distract the animal with food or something more interesting. And it should be illegal in all 50 states to own non-domesticated species! People can be SO IGNORANT!

The Texan was a bit of a nincompoop, clueless about the danger they were in but more than happy to tell the driver how to drive. But then he morphed into a Texas Ranger, beating on that chimp until they could escape. Sadly the driver died and one passenger lost some body parts. The Texas hero hasn't had a good night's sleep since. Bless his heart.

My sweet daddy was attacked by an Asiatic wild bear which got lost one side of his eye .We live here in a remote part of N-E India by the name NAGALAND . Wish sombody come here and do some documentary before my dad gets too old :(:( .

The last place I would go is to a Chimp sanctuary. They have been abused by people probably their entire lives. I am grateful for the people who have the heart and soul to take care of these animals.

I have no compassion whatsoever for people who attend corridas and ferias and take pleasure to see an animal tortured to death
