It's nice to see people who actually care about these wild animals and they are willing to provide exceptional care and support after these predators have suffered years of those years
This is why I donate to four paws. They rock!! So sad Sandra had to be put down but at least she isn't suffering anymore. Gypsy is adorable. I have never seen a lion with dwarfism before. I hope they can keep her pain under control so she can live a happy life.
It's awesome the Felidae Big Cat Centre was so willing to hand over the animals. Most places gatekeep their animals and refuse to let them get rescued, even when they really need it. The owner knew the place wasn't great and didn't have enough space to support the animals and she cooperated, which is so awesome. It tucks the bar is so low but credit where it's due
Ok Gypsy's little legs are adorable, omg. I'm glad she was rescued, and I hope that she was never bred to try and replicate her condition. It's similar to the munchkin house cats of today, cute but not very functional and brings about a host of other health problems.
R.I.P Sandra I am gutted you didn’t get the chance to have your freedom. Now you are out of pain. Run free in cat heaven. It must have been such a difficult decision to make.😢❤ Thank you for helping the other tigers to get their freedom❤😊
I absolutely adore Dr Caldwell! 🥰 I have watched him work on Kevin Richardson's Lions and other animals. I greatly admire his work. I'm glad these cats are able to move into much better conditions. Heck, my dog has a larger enclosure than these amazing big cats! But, sadly it takes time and money to care for them. In my opinion the Govts of these countries should help fund these rescues. And move them to refuges in Africa whenever possible.
I would like see, but will probably never, those most responsible for the mess we are in, ie, the wealthiest countries pay for jobs, birth control programs, schools, etc., etc., for the locals so the animals can live in reserves. There still will be a land issue, which will grow worse with the hunger that will accompany global war,I guess. This will hit the areas where most of the animals on this show live hardest…nit to mention the human tragedy.
Oh this warms my heart so much. Thankyou🙏🏼. Sorry to hear about Sandra. You did the best thing for her. My domestic cat had stage 4 kidney disease and I had to do same thing. Very painful. Broke my heart
The dwarf lion was sooo cute and if it were such thing for them to be that small and health I would totally get one and give it a great life ☺️. But for real poor thing ☹
A lion is still a lion… cute is not a good reason to want to get a lion. It would be impossible to get a dwarf lion and give it a good life if you couldn’t give a regular lion a good life.
I know when I have been sedated I feel the same way in recovery, leave me alone , I just want to sleep. All these shows show 98% of the trip and only 2% of them in the new place . I wanted to see the moment they entered the full enclosure ?
Very frightening procedure I wouldn't get into that cage no matter how doped up those tigers were. A friend who worked in a zoo told me about a tragic event where a co-worker invited a friend to spend a day with her at work. Her job was to feed the lions and someone didn't close the door to an enclosure. One of them was attacked and killed by one of the lions. A terrible result.
I have no clue how old these videos actually are, but that man works wonders for those big cats and this warms my heart to this "farm" turn into what it should be. Nothing wild animals living their best life's.
So relieved they euthanized the tiger with urinary issues…as a human who has had, knock on wood, only one but one very severe kidney infection … it is very painful. Believe me she had very poor quality of life. We’ve had to euthanize we love so much…it’s always very hard, but we steel ourselves to choose for them, not to postpone our grief. Excellent caregiving…thank you.
Seeing them trying to man handle a lion is so wholesome. A pacifist learning to shoot a gun to save lives shows her dedication. I'm proud of her. 23:15 Oh, man. The nails made him bleed. Poor guy was so scared and just trying to get away. 37:43
16:41 - 😂😂😂😂 - I'm sorry but this was rather funny to watch!! The narrator explains how they must place him in a seated position, then they add the music whilst they struggle to reposition him - 😂😂
For other also from the US, there are still states which allow private citizens to own “exotics” with very little supervision. Conditions are often horrific. We need a federal law banning this practice! Please contact your Congressperson.
wish the big cats could be wild and free with no worries of hunters but the way they are treated in the africa captivity think thats the next best thing they can act wild whilst in captivity
17:10 - Soft Tissues such as Tendons and ligaments are not picked up by x-rays? At most you can get a faint outline but not enough to dismiss the tendons as the cause of the limp. The only X-ray that can give good images of soft tissues are specialized High Contrast X-rays that most human doctors don’t even have access to. You can tell the one they took wasn’t one of these so they would’ve needed something like an mri or CT scan to get an accurate image of any damage to the tendons?
Our house cat had that problem went from a hoarders room to our apartment one tiny cramped room to a kitchen giant room and living room he freaked out so stayed in the bathroom then got used to it then moved to our new house which is a two level with more rooms he stayed in one room then was comfortable really fast but he did panic with more space it was sad
Jesus Christ, I'd rather you just put me down, before I'd have to live out my life walking around all day, every day, in mud, poo, and water, and having to live in that small prison cell.
So it took 4 Paws a Month to come get a vet out to see a Dwarf Lion who assumed in pain all that time?! WTF 4 paws ? Your supposed to be the Gold Standard in Animal Care! And No Anxiety Meds for them in the mini cans either?!
I wonder, do y'all say shrist, or shrismas? No, because 'CH' can be said like like chocolate or have a 'ka' sound. You obviously say them words correctly, why do you insist on saying schedule with the cha sound instead of the k sound? It's pronounced "S-k-ed-ule
Sorry, but you're displaying your ignorance of the fact that American English is not the only dialect of English. British English pronunciation uses the 'sh' sound instead of the 'sk' sound when pronouncing 'schedule'.Some people use the 'sh' and others the 'sk'. Just accept that, like any language with a diverse history and borrowings, there'll be spelling and pronunciation inconsistencies. Americans like Webster ( of the dictionary Merriam-Webster fame) have tried to standardize pronunciation or change spelling to make it more phonetic.
Why are all the wild animals go to Africa? That is not where they were born and these animals exist everywhere on this planet. Imagine disasters strike Africa how many animals will be dead? These animals should spread to all over the world.
I appreciate your concern, but good sanctuaries for big cats like these require vast spaces or extensive land. Not many developed countries have such huge tracts of open land, so places like the USA and South Africa et al do. May I suggest you research why Europe or parts of Asia etc. don't have sanctuaries for predators? I've speculated based partly on knowledge but also on extrapolation.
They are doing a good job but I believe wild animals should be returned to their native country. Why is a Bengal tiger sent to Africa? Return it to India. Tigers don't live in Africa but in Asia.
Have you considered that if you're sending these animals to a sanctuary, it doesn't matter that they're not going to their indigenous habitat? Do you even know what's going on in India? It probably doesn't have enough open space to have decent sized sanctuaries, and the reasons relate to high population density there. That is one of the main reasons why tigers in the wild in Asia particularly India are endangered: poverty and poaching, as well as a lot of human-animal conflict. There are big cats like African lions and Bengal tigers in North American sanctuaries- that's not an indigenous habitat either, is it?
