From 2000-2005 we’re absolutely picture perfect and his most dominant years smh especially 00-03 that swing was so perfect, no dip, perfect tempo

Random Guy 100% agree, should’ve never changed his swing he was dominating EVERYBODY from 00 to 03 and it wasn’t even close

I was fortunate to play against tiger as a junior (AJGA and CIF).... I Sh*t you not he was longer during high school and college than he was as a pro. My swing speed is about 115 and I could easily hit it 300 yards. Tiger would routinely outdrive me by 60 yards.

Jeffrey Ena ... greatness. You saw it. And in this sport, well...people just don't always grasp 'how great' the 'good' are. Let alone the 'greats'. Bet you have plenty of game and the silver to prove so. Me? Just another Cat 1 (4 handicap) chopper! A friend plays on the Malaysian Tour...he rocked up the other day and offered me a shot a hole (I declined and lost 7&6) ... after 14 holes he was 8 under... I repeat..."most people don't appreciate how high the standard among the best". Stellar stuff! Anyway, I sincerely hope you're still enjoying this great game of ours.

I remember seeing in a clinic vid of his created in 2004 he changed his swing and slowed it down for distance control and accuracy. Then again, this change was way back in the early 2000’s.

He swung his old 43,5" steel shafted Titleist 975D about 126 mph... Swinging a short steelshafted driver that fast. He's average driving distance the week he won the masters was 323 yds off the tee... And that's with equipment that flew the ball about 30 yards shorter than today. Imagine 1997 Tiger with 2021 equipment. He would have outdriven DeChambeau. He also said he gained 6 mph swing speed switching from 43.5" steel to about 45" grafite... Off that we can infer, that Tigers top speed would probably have beed somewhere around 135 mph with todays modern equipment. Not half bad for someone who is not a long driver!

Look up Byron Smith's swing. Best swing you will ever see, just needs to hone the short game to stay on tour again.

Kudos for the Video! Sorry for the intrusion, I would love your initial thoughts. Have you heard about - Paneevelyn Swinging Clubsman (search on google)? It is a great one of a kind guide for revealing an effortless golf swing technique minus the headache. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my work buddy at very last got great results with it.

Favorites '93 and '94 were sooo smooth wish I coulda replicated those in my college golf days then '95-'99 he had real high hands kinda weird then '00-'05 was probably his most technically sound swings with very little dip Then after that he started to get flatter '07 '08 and '12 weren't terrible but Sean Foley happened hands in compressed and cut across did not do him justice, nice to see his swing returning to the plane it used to be on from '16-now (2019) hopefully his body (back knee achilles etc) can hold up and let him make a run at Jack's record before he turns 50 and probably becomes an announcer ;)

JE5U5A5AURU5 Yeah I have a Nike Covert driver from 2013 (Small Head) and it sounds so satisfying. My dad has a Taylormade R15 driver (Big Head) and it sounds so loud and irritating.

Recent swings much more relaxed. Old age seems to be dancing with his flexibility on the finish though XD

You can definitely see how his tempo changed after 2009. It got so fast. His 2016 swing looks a lot more like his swings from 2000. Looks the best since the golden days in my opinion.

How did he only have one win in 2004?? His swing looked Beautiful There. Also, as Far as Choosing the Best Swing Out of all these I Have to Say the Fluidness and Rhythm in 2006 Would give it The 1st Spot Over the Others To me.

I'm very new to golf so I am looking for some help. It appears to my very untrained eye that Tiger's swing, especially in the early 2000's put a lot of torque on his left knee. He was still able to achieve a legendary level of play obviously but for a hobby player like me, is there a way to reduce the torque on that left leg to keep from getting joint problems in the future?

When you see his swing around 2000 you know his body can't withstand going after it that hard. His follow through was violent but controlled by his left leg. My knee would be shot after one range session swinging like that.

Everyone likes his earlier swings but completely overlook the fact that those swings are not sustainable and put an incredible amount of stress on the body. Even an athlete as supreme as Tiger is with impressive body conditioning and fitness would succumb to injuries. Tiger also doesn’t think those swings are great either because he never truly “owned” them like Hogan and Nicklaus did with theirs.
