Tiger had two primes. The 1999-2002 invincible Tiger who just bullied the field and then the 2005-2008 Tiger who had the best hands in the history of the sport and more feel than anyone has a right to have...and bullied the (much stronger) field. I'd actually say the 2005-2008 Tiger was better than the 1999-2002 Tiger in most ways. The main thing the younger Tiger had is that ability to hit the driver 10 miles. It's like the gods had to take that away from Tiger in order to make things fair.

Honestly you are spot on with this, thank you for providing all of these timestamps. It’s not even just these shots either, for example he follows up the “effortless” approach from 210 at #7 by draining the birdie putt and walking it in (reminded me a lot of hole #1 in the final round of the 2006 PGA). Then on #12 after that monster drive, cold out of the rain delay, he hits that insanely smooth 6 iron, seemed destined to make that putt as well but I suppose he is mortal. Honestly thinking back Tiger’s winning performance was very much overshadowed in this Open by both Phil’s playing to the New York crowds (beginning a storyline that would continue throughout the decade’s four New York-area US Opens, all of which saw Phil finish 2nd) and Sergio’s irking of the New York crowds. The shot from Tiger in this Open which always got all the play was the long iron on 13, which was admittedly an all-time tiger moment, but you’ve illustrated how the rest of his performance on Sunday was also insanely good. Also forgotten is how clutch he finished Saturday, after Tiger was slumping a bit and Mickelson made his charge, Tiger reasserted command with his first birdie of the day at the diabolical 15th hole. This was truly a spectacular performance; heady times for golf and America.

I would consider this his 1999-2004 golf swing. In 1999 he was transitioning to this swing and struggled a little bit but by 2000 he had it down and had a huge year. 2000-2002 imo was the best swing indeed

His iron play was better under Haney. His driving was better under Butch but that was mostly because he was protecting his knee during the Haney years. His short game and scrambling were better under Haney. His raw power 99-02 was wild though. Imagine how far he could have hit his driver with today’s technology.

Tiger is just my favourite Golfer. I followed and love watching him regardless if he sometimes didn't won the tournament. 😊😊
