To think of all the moments and history Stevie contributed to the game is just awesome. What a wild adventure he went on through his career. Huge respect 💪🏼
You will always be part of golfing history. Thank you Steve Williams and thank you Tiger Woods, you are both in many of the most glorious golf shots + golf moments ever witnessed by human eyes. Good on yer Mate.
Happy to see you happy, Stevie. You worked hard and were the best at your craft. Not many can say that, and you're getting out with your health and some energy to have some other life experiences. Good for you.
@@pjpredhomme7699 who has not made a mistake in life uts hous life just look at the catholic church over a $650.000.00 in comparison for molestation but it still going on it's all about the $$$
Damn right. Tiger's achievements along with Steve's other former bosses' achievements would not have been made possible without Steve's wisdom and guidance, both on and off the course. He should've played professionally himself.
It was sad to see the way he was sacked by Tiger after all the years they were together and all the service he gave to him.Delighted to see him win the masters with Scott. He's an interesting type of fella, could listen to him all day and I would love to see hom back out on tour.........coz lets face it,he is probably to most well known and accomplished caddie ever.Nice guy too
Suirside yep, you are right! If he was from the US they would be singing his praises! But because he is from NZ and he don't give a fuck about flinging the shit at him. Glad Steve called it always the wasps he saw it! How many winners of majors has he been on the bag with, no coincidence! Just good at what he does!
I, too, think all of Tiger's professional woes can all be overcome, as soon as he re-employs Steve as his Caddie. Pride is such a bitch sometimes though.
Nice video. A nice insight into what makes one person happy when they have the choice to do whatever they want to do at a particular point in their life.
I don't think people realise the importance of a good caddy. A buddy of mine was one one the PGA tour, and he said you are as much a psychologist as you are a club carrier. Steve Williams obviously had the skills.
excuse my negligence since i am not aware or have knowledge about this... as a pro caddie for someone like steve williams don't he make a decent living in terms of annual income?
Just a darn GOOD LIFE 👍. I am there and need to get a plan ... I wanna tinker with Porsche, play with pets, have a THREE FOUR CAR GARAGE 🥳🥳🥳. Let’s DO IT!!!
@ITHEREONETHATHASNT Clearly you aren't a professional golfer. You probably think all caddies just carry a bag, find the golf ball, tend the pin, rake sand traps, replace divots and clean the clubs. Stay ignorant if it suits you.
Rob Wonham so when u change jobs, you are abandoning your boss? Tiger needed to figure it out on his own. Keeping the same people around stunts one’s growth.
Pretty sad how he stabbed Tiger in the back. They were friends, worked together and certainly Tiger brought him into his confidences, and he turns around and profits off what he saw and heard in his book. No matter what happened between him and Tiger, this was a betrayal.
There's only one comment I agree with here and that's the one by Jeret H. The rest of you seem to have swallowed this guy's hugely inflated opinion of himself. Williams is a nonentity who had the incredible luck to get Tiger Woods bag when he was at the peak of his powers. Woods made him the richest "sportsman?" in NZ until Michael Campbell won the US Open and after they parted company, Williams opened his big, disloyal mouth and publicly criticised the man who made him wealthier than he could ever have dreamt. He gave Adam Scott no support whatever in the final few holes of the Open when Scott's decisions cost him the title - Williams strode along the fairway 30 yards ahead of his man giving him no guidance or confidence whatsoever. The man has made a ridiculously good living carrying a golf bag around the globe. That's all. And like all nonentities who are thrust into the public gaze on the back of someone who has actually achieved something, he actually thinks that he is pretty special. He's not.
He must’ve been doing something right for Tiger to have stuck with him. Tiger doesn’t just swing a club. He also relies heavily on his caddie’s advice. Maybe you’re underestimating pivotal he must’ve been to have helped Tiger win that many tournaments. Keep an open mind
Steve looks like an amazing friend, teacher, and father. Seeing this makes me wish I could be in his life lol seems like an admirable person sad to see tiger threw him away cuz of his own mistakes :/
It's like he thought he earned all those championships while on Tiger's bag. You were a good caddie, but don't get it twisted, Steve. Tiger is the only reason anyone knows your name. Now you have a foundation? Spare us all.
Ya. Tiger paid Stevie .. and paid him what he thought he was worth to him. So if he’s a millionaire .. at that time in his life .. Stevie provided something very valuable to Tiger. That’s between them. And we have no idea why, how and exactly what happened between them.? Obviously they were very close at one time. I’m sure there is enough blame on both sides for the “falling out”. Here’s to hoping they forgive each other and move on with no overhanging clouds. 🥂
Look how easily Stevie turned his back on Tiger and publicly trashed him. Tiger didn't do anything to offend him personally and after all those years could Stevie really be clueless about his lifestyle ? It serves as clear testimony that they befriend and break bread with you,,, until you laugh too loud or do any small thing that's deemed offensive.
Exactly what I said. Steve as a caddy is working for not with the other guy. He is just too proud to use the correct terminology, because he does not want to appear less important.
I remember watching him and Tiger all those years thinking what a jerk he was....I couldn't have been more wrong about Mr. Williams. Honestly, if I recall correctly, I think the media focused in on one thing and ran with it. Now I also realize at that level, sometimes you have to be a bit verbal, forward, or bark loudly..what do I know about caddying for the World's greatest golfer??? Sorry Mr. Williams, congrats on retirement sir! 4 years late!
some of you folks are clueless, sorry! there are good caddies and there are not so good caddies. caddies can be 'coach-like' in their motivation and ecncouragement, but in the end, a caddie's job is provide accurate, solid information on which a player relies to decide on the course of action. THE PLAYER MAKES THE DECISION, THE PLAYER HITS THE SHOTS, THE PLAYER WINS OR LOSES - NOT THE FRIGGIN CADDY!!!!!
Does a good caddy help a player ? yes i don't think you can be denied . So the problem becomes where is the line between contributing and just handing the guy the club. When he first started- i think he really helped control the environment- around Tiger & he needed that -he was obviously not vibing with Fluff , so S, Williams took charge & Tiger liked it or it wouldn't have happened! that is what you"re missing - If it wasn't what T Woods wanted - it wouldn't be . He knew it was over when he spoke out - because that is automatic ban for life with Tiger = there is no coming back & he knew it when he spoke with the press
