I like the comment about not getting worked up when things happen. If you work in this business then you know what kind of things can happen . Getting too worked up all the time doesn't help situations.
I like the Rotobec grapple saws, they work really slick, the chain oiler system does give issue sometimes, you really have to keep the inlet strainer just perfectly clean of debris. The one I worked with ran a 3/4" chain, and it was awesome in cutting the pulp out of the merchantable wood. Anything to pick up half a step from the processor. This is why I enjoy your channel, these are tools most guys don't touch.
Before retiring from construction (I only logged 3 years) I had to build a temporary highway bypass through ground like that, (about 320 feet with a lot of rock hauled in) --- with right of ways on each side --- no place to get equipment in for assistance. I had everything stuck at some time or another! I hate those kind of working conditions but, as I'm sure you know, if you work in the outdoors --- logging, construction, etc. --- you'll have days like that and probably many more, just try to limit them. You made a great recovery and a great video. ....13
Hey bud that was a great vid, you guys run a good crew and looks like them machines are some strong creatures. all of them thanks for the commentary on this
cotontop3 that's crazy plum crazy my loader is at 180 and aint near the machine... I guess its all in the valving and I bet the hydraulics and ECM works togeather to adjust for the demands... still amazing...lol
Logger Wade They do all work together and I can adjust the settings and I wasn't even running on the highest output that day. If I go off the deck and shovel wood, I'll run it on the highest setting it has. Those are green paint but its all Hitachi except for the deere engine and cooling system. When someone ask what its like to run one, I tell them its like comparing a 1960 ford f150 to a f16 fighter jet, its that much difference between one of those and a normal piece of logging equipment.
Enjoy the videos Tim. Seems like here lately you are trying to get a business going with the tree cleanup. Are you wanting out of the logging business?
Conor Wagner You will be able to see your tracks even with a loader that has a riser on it with the new Deere swing machines that will be out later this year. I helped them in the design of the cabs and have run them in the simulator.
cotontop3 10-4 I start tom morning with an outfit out of New Albany first time hauling logs I've hauled mobile homes and heavy haul equipment for past 7 years nervous is an understatement
