DFA and release Javy!!! Chris Illitch and Scott put your big boy pants on!!! Competent organizations know when to cut bait, even the O’s did when they cheap with Chris Davis
@@andrewscott7067Andrew I was going to say the same thing. As a son, part of me wants to make my dad proud. Everyday. How can Chris look at himself in the mirror when his dad would have given his left hand for his Detroit sports teams. He's a trust fund baby who doesn't care. It's sad .
@@Whatsmynameagain09 You answered your own question, he never built a pizza empire or cared about the teams as a fan like his father did so he views them solely as an investment.
Baez has been a steaky player his whole career. It's all been peaks and valleys. Tigers were dumb enough to sign. Not going anywhere with him and not going anywhere without him. Tigers suk and will suk for the next ten years. It is what it is!!! Edit: Also post Mr Pizza himself, Tigers suk and Red Wings suk. As long as T.V. contracts or shared revenue is a thing, a crappy product is rewarded.
Baez is taking up a roster spot. Bring up Justin Henry Malloy or anyone. Torkelson sucks ass too. Our 3rd base and hitting coaches suck and I'm not a fan on AJ. His lineups suck. He takes hitters out of the lineup as soon as they start hitting. He sucks too.
Yeah. An average team that has good hitting and bad pitching can at least make games entertaining to watch, even when you lose. But a team like the Tigers with great pitching and an abysmal offense is just torture to watch.
Since they screwed the fans over put them on my regular TV I could care less. They're have Done me a favor. Chris It's the polar opposite of his father. Paying useless players big money make them earn what they They play for. Like most business people.
@@michaelstein7510 Yeah, the caller did like a guess the player game and selected Bartolo Colons 2015 season with Baez current stats and Colons OPS was close lmao
The Tigers have put an awful lot of their eggs in the 'young talent' basket and if they're wrong they/we are screwed. If they have to change course and sign/trade for existing players they're going to have to address C, 2B, SS, 3B (1B?) and at least one OF. Not exactly a quick fix, for a fan base that is tired of endless losing.
The problem with the Tigers is poor, drafting, releasing good players and getting nothing in return, a.k.a. Verlander and Martinez, and thinking that Torkelson and green are the answer to the Tigers position players it’s absolutely a shame that Thorkelson is what he is being the number one pick overall and Green with a 240 batting average runs.. it’s a shame the owner is cheap. Just look at the payroll
there's no other explanation than chris Illitch.none. zero. zilch. the lions just unloaded 400m+ on three players. and the tigers are, what, 60m under league avg payroll? that should tell you everything you need to know. There is no other reasonable explanation for the tigers dismal offense. this is not even on scott harris. JMO, it's all on Chris I. All of it. What's happening, or not happening, defies logic.
It’s not like The front office doesn’t have the money for good players, Ilitch just bought a bunch of expensive casinos in my home state of New Jersey (Atlantic City to be precise). Detroit deserves better. If this were in Philadelphia they’d all be getting booed out of their own stadium by now, and I think Detroiters should start doing the same thing and stop putting up with crap. And unfortunately We’ve seen this before with other companies - Ilitch is running the team like a cutthroat business, he just wants a functional baseball team that he doesn’t have to think about, and he doesn’t care about winning. Maybe Hinch should encourage cheating again, it might actually make them competitive.
It might be this year and then they cut javy. Colt Kieth is very good he is hitting the ball hard and getting unlucky. Colt Kieth’s expected batting average is 250. Torkelson isn’t good is the problem he can’t hit fastballs. Wencel perez is really good and kerry carpenter, Riley Greene, I also like Colt Kieth, Jace Jung but this team is a year away from competing. I expect Baez to play this year and then he’s cut next year. Also I like JHM but he’s a corner outfielder
@@anthonypuccini1914If people had fair critiques it would be one thing but I swear they never have any real reasons. I think he does a fine job. Maybe its because hes a 49ers fan lol
@jovar.3649 I have plenty of reasons but the main one is the way he speaks to and about people. The man oozes condescension and arrogance. Always insults other's intelligence and brags about how his opinion is right or how he knows the correct way to do things. And as for the way he speaks to Mike and others he works with; it's never a discussion with him, it's always an argument. He's always trying to "win" an argument and not discuss sports with his friend. His entire mindset and heart are in the wrong place. You can tell if you truly listen. I've listened for years hence why I dislike the way this man behaves so much
Call up the players they have in the minor leagues, since they don't seem.to have any interest in signing any free agents. So, bring up justin henry malloy, he would certainly be a better option at third, he can play second and third and all the outfield spots. Too, bring up max clark, and see what they can do for you, if they come up and do nothing it makes it that much easier to to a complete tear down fire sale of the team of the major and minor league teams. Scott harris is not the guy, despite the fact he's talking in interviews about winning a penant and colt keith being a big part of that. This team is gonna be as bad as the randy smith teams.
McKinstry at short full-time is the reason Javy Baez is playing. No trades warming up, won't promote from the farm. Javy will be in the lineup for the rest of the season.
Mike has an understanding that he has a talent no one else is willing to exercise. He has to battle his desire to be liked. He shouldn’t care and he should challenge strong people. I’m not sure he’s willing to do that
Lifetime Baseball/Tigers fan: I've stopped paying attention at all. I don't even bother to watch highlights anymore. Outside of the pitching, it's brutal to watch. Baez has to go, if only for the principle.
