I think another big reason that people cover Tigran’s rhythm rather than his harmony is that they have no idea what’s going on harmonically. So good job! 👍 Harmony of Space of Your Existence next?
Great vid thanks, cool to see a discussion on the harmonic elements of Tigran's music which are extremely interesting in addition to his masterful rhythmic ideas.
Great video! Just saw Tigran live twice in the last 2 weeks and damn one could spend their life studying his harmonic vocabulary, it's truly fascinating and you did a great job covering some of it!
Respect man. This isn't easy to cover and you did a great job. P.S. - As to the outro, I think he's also making reference to the 1st Part of this piece ("Old Maps").
sometimes I wonder if his chords even make sense I mean ok subbing the V7 for a major9 chord is out there but some of his things are so out I just don't get how he thinks about harmony
Great video, quick question as a drummer haha. When you say sus does that just imply sus 4 or sus 2. Does it mean something else that I'm not aware of?
If you do another Tigran one you should look at the harmony in "Our Film"/"Revisiting the Film". One hand is doing a melody in F minor and the other hand goes C# D# E and resolves on F#, it's a very strange combining of melodies that works without sounding dissonant
