Adjusted the Tikka T1x trigger to just over a pound.
Probably one of the best factory triggers in any rifle.
This rifle is probably the best bang for you buck if accuracy is high on your priority lisy.

Thanks for the vid bud...little tip you only need to lift the bolt to set the trigger, saves ejecting a snap cap each time 👍

The manual states no more than 40 inch pounds....most set there's to between 30 - 35 inch pounds

The manual for the TX1 says these are 25 Torx bolts -

There is a strong chance I may have misspoke for sure. I do try to be accurate.

Tikka are metric so you need to find a metric set to fit. Pretty sure you can change trigger pull without removing stock. Remove the magazine and at the back is a hole you can stick the allen wrench into the hole down into the bolt. counter clockwise will make it lighter and clockwise will make it greater.

Mine has allen head bolts for the action screws and the forend insert has a torque screw?

My adjustment screw hits the other screw at about 2 pounds.

I just went through that action screw thing and a 4mm allen doesn’t fit in mine, T25 is the proper size, the owner manual is kind of confusing!

T25 work on Tikka, CZ and Savage as I pleasantly found out.

Hey there, yes the T25 is a Torx bit, much safer to use in the screws, then an Allen key. Thanks for the video.

Good video. I will be trying this later this morning. Another way to determine if your trigger is too light is to rap the recoil pad with a rubber or plastic mallet a few times while holding the rifle in one hand. Closing the bolt vigorously as you did is another method to see if things have gotten too light. I had a trigger job done on a Model 70 where the hammer would fall (but not discharge) when I closed the bolt vigorously. I am glad you checked your rifle. Also, was the range of variation in trigger pull weight larger where you ended up than where you started? I would prefer a trigger with more consistent break and would trade a small increase the pull weight to achieve that.

Thanks for your comments, I do not think there was a range of trigger pull prior to the adjustment but I also don't think I check, also I don't recall it being noticable. If I can recall after the trigger adjustment I am not sure if I noticed a wide variation on the trigger pull. I have not shot the Tikka for a while I have been shooting a CZ457 AT-One. I will say this I believe the best factory trigger so far is the Tikka trigger.

Good vid man. A little slow, but informative content. I removed the "shoe horn" from the barrel channel when I adjusted my trigger, but it didnt make any noticeable difference in how the rifle grouped. Granted I'm only running a 10x SWFA scope on mine at 50 yards. More magnification would probably produce better results. And yes that T25 is the proper bit for removing the action screws.

Edward, Thanks for the comment it is appreciated, for now I'll keep the "Shoe Horn" and maybe when I comer to the end of my Ammo Testing Videos I'll remove it and see who it does. I am naturally slow but maybe as I improve doing RU-vid that will get better and I do know my videos can run long but I do try and be informative.

@@AimSmallMissSmall_TV Take that slow comment with a big grain of salt. You did a helluva lot better than I could ever accomplish. I'm grateful for the quality content makers still on this platform instead of these fake-ass "influencers" and large channels that are no better than the big gun magazines these days paid for an honest "Product Review". Keep doing your thing man.

Regardless of the fact that the manual says to use a T25 You should under no circumstance use a T 25

Thanks Jerry for you comment, I actually like the wrench I have. I like the build quality, I have never used the Wheeler so I don't know that it is better but I am sure it is easier since I would not need to look up the weight conversion.

Tikka doesn’t recommend less than 2 pounds, That’s what I would set it at!

I believe the Yo-Dave spring give you the ability to have a lighter trigger over two years and thousands of rounds no issues. Always test and adjust for safety. Safety First.

Tikka has to stay within certain advertised limits for liability reasons.. you won't find any of Tikka's team shooter's with 2 lb trigger pulls? However a 2 lb trigger pull is pretty damn light, especially when it breaks like glass.. That's a subjective topic that only the shooter can answer.. Safety above all, that's absolutely paramount.. I replaced my oem spring as well.. I felt I needed a bit less pull, as it came out of the box and didn't want to back the limiter screw out to the point of interference... consequently I adjusted to 20 oz. & avoided having to readjust my trigger pull in further disassembly .. I wouldn't feel comfortable with anything less than 20 oz.. & I may bump it up a notch or so? Happy shooting gents! 😃

I removed the shoe ,replaced the trigger with a Jard trigger ,having luck with SK rifle match ammo ,I believe you use a star driver for action screws....Oh you can just lift the bolt to re-cock it you don't need to cycle bolt ,just lift put back down
@AimSmallMissSmall_TV
@AimSmallMissSmall_TV 3 года назад
Thanks for your comments and help. SK ammo in general does good in the Tikka. Yes, cycling the bolt by just lifting it up and down again is bunch easier, good tip.
