Will the new style mag well and new style bolt work in place of the old style mag well and bolt. I have a older t1x with wire ejector and would like to upgrade to the new ejector and bolt in that rifle.
Thanks for the video. Would you or anyone know the model number for the updated exactor model? I was looking to buy a tikka 1x but afraid of buying the old kind. Or should I be good to go at this point in time?
Hey mate. I’ve got the old style in mine. I don’t have feeding issues but have ejection issues. Sometimes it won’t kick the empty out and I noticed it let’s go from the ejection hook pretty early aswell as the rim of the case doesn’t slot right in snug with the hook. Got any advice?
yeah, that's been the issue with the wire ejectors, if you tune it for best feeding, you get poor ejection, and as you bend it for better ejection, it will start interfering with feeding, it's kinda a balancing act, I will accept weak (but reliable) ejection to get better feeding, I did a video on it, (note when bending the wire, bend it at the 1st bend, at the rear, not out in the middle someplace)
@@garyeliseo1775 nah I tuned it for the ejection! It feeds perfectly but I did your little bend trick at the rear and get it a 1/4” gap for the stronger ejection but it still won’t kick out the case every 5-10 rounds. Any advice?
Do you know if Tikka has redesigned the firing pin? I've now broken two of mine and looking at a few forums see that it is a somewhat common issue. If they've fixed the firing pin issue as well as the fedding/ejecting issues I'd be tempted to just pick up a new rifle.
I got the new style on mine, and got some issues with poor ejection, maybe one in 50 wont eject... any idea on how to fix that? the place where i bought it tried filing on the little tab that hold the cartridge on the bolt so it hold it more firm, and that made it a bit better, but it still happens sometimes. Anoying when shooting fast on moving targets, having to shake out the cartridge before u can fire again...
Same here. I recently bought the new style and have the same annoying problem with failure to eject about 2 or 3 times per box of ammo. Did you ever find a fix for this problem with the new style?
