Tikkas are amazingly accurate and consistent in point of impact amongst different ammo and shooting positions. I’ve owned Tikkas in 6.5x55, 270, and two in 300 WM. They all consistently shoot 1 1/4” or better with literally any ammo and 3/4” or better with their preferred loadings.
Love your setup! I recently purchased a Tikka T3x Hunter chambered in 7mm-08 Remington. Couldn't be more than happy with the purchase. First 100 yards group .55 inches using Winchester Ballistic Silver Tip Second 100 yard group .67 inches using Norma Whitetail Ammunition Third three shot group 1.37 inches using Hornady American Whitetail. It's actually my first time shooting a Tikka.. glad I chose it! Great shooting brother!
@@lessforloans the 7mm-08 Remington is my favorite cartridge! My line up for deer/black bear are 7mm-08 Remington 358 Winchester 30-30 Winchester 350 Legend 308 Winchester I don't have a magnum.. but all my hunting is inside 200 yards so it's unnecessary in my opinion. My brothers are 30-06.. 270.. 7mag.. and 300 mag It's nice to have choices :)
If you want a rifle under $1,000 that will almost certainly be accurate enough to make you enjoy the gun, then a Tikka is a great choice. Mine easily shoots 1/2 MOA with Hornady premium factory ammo if I do my part. It does almost that well with several more budget ammos, like Federal blue box.
Brother for a guy laying down in the dirt that’s pretty good shooting using assorted factory ammo. I’ve seen guys shooting off a bench struggle to put them that close, particularly.270🙂... Love the Tikka . Never owned a .270, good caliber 🇦🇺👍
Thanks for watching. I youse to have a 223 rem savage axis it would shoot just about any factory ammo in a 2''moa. And then I started shooting reloads and those groups when from 2'' down to 3/4" moa . The moral of the story is you can only shoot as straight as your equipment will let you.
I will be getting my first bolt gun after long debating. I’ve always loves the Tikka platform and debating 243, 308, 270, 30-06, 6.5. I am leaning towards the 270 I don’t know why but I keep coming back to it. If I decide to hand load I’ll probably go with the 7mm-08 but probably won’t load my own and am happy with the off the shelf 270 win. Nice shooting and video very helpful.
When I bought my 270 I was debating between 30-06 , 6.5 , 25-06 . But I'm happy I went with the 270 win . Because I can find ammunition for it just about anywhere. Except during hunting season lol. Best time to stock up is right now during the winter.
Imo, you may as well shoot a long action cartridge in a Tikka because Tikka doesn’t make a short action. Their rifles chambered for short action cartridges have a bolt throw limiter and a spacer in the magazine to accommodate shorter rounds
If you shot the top 3 groups with no cool down that’s excellent, especially if you did not recalibrate for 156 to 130…the 156 is my choice I like heavy for calibre. Cheers good short video with all necessary visual info.
I shot a buck at 100 yards with the sako 156gr last year . He only went 30 yards . The bullet went in behind the shoulder blades through the other shoulder and stop against the skin
This is proof for me that pre loading or tensioning your bipod for good accuracy is bullshit because your rifle goes all over the place and still have good accuracy.
Your right the barrel was probably hotter on does last 2 shots. But I fired the last 4 rounds of Winchester supper x the next day and It shot a 1.75 moa
Nice video. I’m curious what the group with the Winchester ammo that was 2 inches. Would it group better if you had shot it first? I only ask because I suspect your barrel was fairly warm after all the other shots.
I thought that to . So I tried the Winchester again the next day and I got the same results. Several other people told me they had the same results in there tikka.
Maybe repeat the test, but in reverse order to see if a cold bore tightens up the ammo you shot last? I concur with others who say your prone shooting is pretty darn good. Thanks for the video.
Thanks you.The next day after I filmed the vedeo . fired the last 5 round of the Winchester ammunition. It shot 2" moa. It's alitle better then what I shot in the vedeo . But still the worst of the 4 different ammunition I shot that day. I'm try to find a good load right now for some 140gr hornady btsp. I'm gonna make another vedeo when I test does rounds out . Should be fun
Each shot we made were all touching using a 3 to 10 Leupold Scope. A one inch group for our shooters are not acceptable and are not allowed to shoot with lessers rifles, just saying. 🙄🥴
I'll definitely been testing some more different kinds of ammo . When cabelas gets some stock back on the shelfs. I'm also going to be reloading for this rifle. The way things are going it might be the only way I get to shoot it lol
The video was fine except your back drop. You may know what is back there but to new shooters they see this and think that they can shoot at targets like this. So for all new shooters out there that may read this comment. NEVER shoot at ANYTHING unless you know exactly where the bullet is going to end up.
If you look at your vid when you shoot your toes are on the ground, if you you lay your instep down you will have better groups... just sayin' not trying to be a smart arse!
@@Smitty-tc4ni America is also one of the last countries that has protected the right for citizens to have and carry firearms.......I dont think America is going to fall in line just because every one else is doing something else.
