Tikka T3x Super Varmint GR-Tech 6.5 Creedmoor review

Cuan from Gunrats reviews the Tikka T3x Super Varmint in the GR-Tech stock in 6.5 Creedmoor. He also uses the Lapua 140gr Naturalis in this rifle. If you’re looking for a true vermin control or long-distance tool, look no further. When we are talking about SUPER varmint, we are meaning it. Tikka T3x Super Varmint offers a wide range of adjustable features. The heavy varmint barrel has Tungsten Cerakote coating, the stock is upgraded to Roughtech material and a two-stage trigger is a default for this rifle.
Super Varmint is ready for hunting, are you?

Cuan; This is the finest review I found on the Super Varmint. Answers all my questions. You are a fine rifleman, and I really, really appreciate that you didn't use the cherry-picked 3-shot group. You took the risk to shot a longer string with standard hand loads and factory ammunition and that gave your review credibility.

I just wanna thank you for this video. This is the best rifle review I have ever seen by far, I really appreciate how through you are, even explaining certain concepts that might be new to less experienced gun enthusiasts and the camera angels and explanations really are what sets this video into its very own league, you showing angels of the rifle and parts of it that you cant find in regular rifle reviews or product shoots from the internet as well as demonstratic for instance using the money bill and having closeups of said angels in really high quality. Really cant stress enough how useful this video is. Thank you.

I have the same rifle in both .243 and .22-250 and they are both amazingly accurate right out of the box. With factory ammo in the .243, I was able to get groups around 0.75". With my handloads, I am able to get groups under 0.5" consistently with both rifles. I just shot a 5-shot, 0.342" group at 100 yards with 40gr VMAX over 36.5gr of IMR 4064 in the .22-250. The .243 produced a 0.421" group with 87 VMAX over 43.1gr of IMR 4831. I have several other T3x varmint rifles but the new super varmints are a cut above.

Something that is apparently made here in RSA is the Truvelo ar's. could you please post a review of their AR's, as there are very few (if any) reviews on them. Apparently the build quality is really good, but you never know if its just a marketer hyping the product up. Not all shops that stock these have ranges and not all those that do will let you go ahead and test anything on the floor. perhaps a review on the TRUVELO TM 545 CQR (and/or the carbine version) .223/.556? would just be good to get a real review on one of these, given how difficult the application process is for any f/a in our country. would really appreciate it.

Could I ask what you go for in this particular rifle ? The 6.5 creed or prc ? I’m stuck between the two. I’ve heard the barrel life is a lot shorter on the prc and obviously recoil is more as well but obviously it comes with that punching power when hunting and less affected by wind. Please could I get your opinion

This review made me decide on my first rifle, it’s the super varmint. To be honest, it was already on the top of my list. Now to decide on the calibre. Here in the Netherlands they say it’s best to start with a .308, a 30-06 or a 7x64. However, purely for hunting i think the 6.5 PRC looks the most appealing, but availability looks to be a problem. Especially with lead free rounds. Anyone have any argumented tips, advice or other useful information to help me decide?
@Salty-Frenchy
@Salty-Frenchy Год назад
well 6.5 prc is a real barrel burner it fucks barrels after only 2000 rounds from what I heard even worse that 6.5 creedmoor I don't really like that I'm about to get my first big caliber too (well already have 22lr 12 gauge and 222rem) and I think I'll go classic 308 personally for the price of ammo and barrel life... and it will do the job just fine for hunting too
@Jonsoh811
@Jonsoh811 Год назад
@@Salty-Frenchy Barrel burner is relative. Lets say I get to hunt and shoot 4 large game animals per month. Since I say anything you shoot, you eat. Assuming I need 2 shots per animal, the kill shot and a mercy shot. Thats 96 shots per year for hunting. Now lets practice 10 shots per month, so that's another 120 shots per year. So lets make that 220 shots per year. Thats 9 years of barrel life if not more. And from what I gather, the mentioned 2000 rounds are with competition shooters, so a whole different ball game. Not withstanding I'm currently keeping the 30-06 as my second choice.
@rascalmatt6713
@rascalmatt6713 Год назад
Yeah, i'm looking at this in a 6.5 PRC too but i really want a 7PRC so i just don't know. This looks like a great hunting rifle in 6.5 PRC though as well as a great long range rifle. I recon you'd be able to reach out to 2,000 yards with this in a 6.5 PRC. I've hit out to 1,850 yards with my Tikka Tac A1 in 6.5 Creed and hit a soda can at 1,004 yards in 3 shots including an educated guess on my DOPE with the first shot. Tikka's are just so accurate that shooting them is something you want to do all the time... at least i do. It just depends what you're doing with it. If you're shooting a lot... you may not want the 6.5 PRC.
