People getting so offended by someone just having fun is really funny. I’ll never understand why people care so much about what other people do with their time when they aren’t hurting anyone.
Anyways, the homophobia in a comment section is unsurprising but I’m actually excited that drag queens are getting national coverage during pride. Drag is an art with so much nuance, and it truly is one of the best things that have emerged from LGBT+ spaces. Whether people choose to believe it or not, drag, gender nonconformity, and homosexuality have had their place all throughout history. The fight to erase queer history sure is losing, nowadays we celebrate it every year. Happy pride, folks!

@Alex Jones In fact, as in some other contexts as well, the terms "phobia" and "phobic" might also be used actually to describe or indicate an irrational hatred for a particular group of people, etc - or indeed, having an irrational *fear* of the prospect of coming to realise and become aware that one is, oneself, part of just that very group of people whom one so despises - and it is therefore in this context then that these terms might be equally and appropriately applied. Now, as regards your being "repulsed" by ( apparently ) the - visible and audible - existence/presence of an lgbtq+ community: well, that really is just something with which you yourself shall need to come to terms and, cope....

All these people who shame the LGBTQ community and cite their religion as an excuse will be in for a rude awakening when they have to answer for themselves to Saint Peter at the pearly gates and realize that they didn't "love thy neighbor." Jesus did not judge, he banded together with the outcast. He accepted ALL regardless of their background. I try to see Jesus in every person I see, and treat them with the same compassion that I would give if I encountered the second coming. The original biblical texts n e v e r even mention homosexuality. Most of those verses (1 cor, romans, laviticus) are either sorely lacking in historical context or mistranslated entirely. For the most part, they refer to r!pe, and to pedophilia. Not to homosexuality. Romans wasn't even in the Bible at one point!! The Bible absolutely says in 1 Corinthians and elsewhere that revilers will not inherent the kingdom of god. All those who use gods name to trash the LGBTQ+ are reviling in gods name. It's also worth noting King James himself had many gay lovers. Makes ya think about what the agenda was with those mistranslations!!
