I can buy that a lot of tiktok comment sections are at least neutral - but look at the comments of autistic or disabled creators - especially women - and it quickly becomes a different picture. (I mean, tiktok inventing new ways to say the r slur that won't be caught by moderation is evidence enough in itself.)
@@spicyunihornand children. There are lots of “mommy” channels that exploit their little kids with really intimate and sexualized videos. The videos have thousands of saves. It’s horrible
ive been on tik tok since the whole '' ' '' gamers vs furries '' ' ' thing (2017/18 ish) and it feels a whole WORLD different. i remember when there was no personalised fyp and EVERYONE just seen the same videos.
If tik tok is banned in the US your job will become more important than ever before! Just post your FYP on its entirety like people do with old MTV broadcasts. I’m also very pleased with the amount of love for Oreo the dachshund!
You might have missed where he said the Covid era, meaning peak of Covid. In 2021 when content creators and celeb level status ppl all over social media would lament and say ‘when I look back 5years ago it was so alive and happy’ or ‘it was so much better in 2016, that was the end of an era, the best year ever online” when it was actually a really argumentative year more akin to a year being more like a nonstop social dumpster fire. @arcade3198
I personally think using TikTok as a search engine is really concerning. Not only does it not teach kids how to properly research factual information but in terms of like restaurants and stuff it will only give you what’s popular or what’s trending recently? Instead of what actually is near you. Which I also feel is bad. Also I don’t know if the comment section has changed or anything since I stopped using the app but me personally I feel that TikTok has the worst most toxic comment sections and the only comment sections even slightly compared is instagram reels.
Stopping you scrolling is surely intentional! It's to get you used to unskippable videos so that people don't hate it so much when they do ads like that
The same thing happened to my sister who had her baby a month ago... She kept coming across birth horror stories and it made her super anxious! But the labor went so well, the baby is healthy, and they're happy
RU-vid unskippable ads are annoying fs but 90% of tik toks are some sort of ad that’s meant to be instantly scrolled past but they still get the TT ad revenue
The rose coloured glasses toward tik tok is so weird to watch I couldn't recommend enough people taking a month (or forever) off social media and see how quickly your view on everything changes. Tik tok is 100% the most bizarre dystopian platform to date
@MsRainingDays for sure it would be considered social media. Just wasn't one that was causing issues for me. I also kept pinterest as a crafter. I just have limits on how long can be spent on the apps, how many times its opened a day etc using the screenzen app. I don't really watch shows and movies so yt is my main form of entertainment so it's just what works for me 😁
The first time I open tiktok I saw a person bawling while holding their dead cat's body to the camera. Never fking again lol, I'll rather just watch tiktok content on ig 5 months later
