Imagine blinking a little too hard and suddenly you're flying. But also, people need to realize that being a girl's girl means telling your fellow ladies if something just doesn't look good. Tactfully of course.
@@LilithsCosmicLounge I only like the drag look eyelashes if you go all the way with the drag makeup, you can't have natural makeup and the most insane eyelashes imo. Im biased tho cus I like drag lol
I recently saw a gal give a blonde girl blonde lashes and they were STUNNING. I suppose to some it could look unnatural but as a blonde who has never had visible lashes it was amazing.
It's like the lip fillers. They start out with a little bit, next thing you know, they look like they hooked a tire inflator up to their lips and just pumped away.
I have weakness of my eyelids , basically sleepy eyes , and a exercise that helps is trying to work them , like strengthen the muscles , now i wonder if i should wear those lashes to help
It's the fumes from the glue. For me it was like a stab to the eyes. I had to hold a fan right in my face the rest of the time. Ripped them out a week or so later
1. Do these women EVER look in the mirror and think.. hhmmm... I look a little weird. 2. Nothing on this earth will convince me to stick anything and/or glue anywhere near my precious eyes.
@@lakeishag76 I wholeheartedly believe that a more natural look is more beautiful, less time consuming and you can save more money. I basically wear eye makeup (shadow and mascara) and enjoying my gray hairs that people comment about my highlights my highlights are God given. I’d never tried the false lashes probably because I would have ended up in the ER because I glued my eyes shut. Before we know it women will be wearing the car headlight lashes 😂
@@spiderfrommars What's wrong with mascara? Not to brag, but I have medium length lashes, but L'Oreal adds a little more length. So, when I'm ready for bed I just wash my face with Olay. Oh, and don't forget eye makeup remover.
When it comes to fake lashes, I like the sparse but slightly long spiked lashes (I think they’re called Manga lashes). They look just a little bit unnatural but quite feminine and pretty. They enhance the eye, not overwhelm it. The drag lashes are fun IF you’re going to do the very exaggerated makeup, they’ll look right.
Natural look is always the way to go, that extra stuff is for ppl who need it, due to an illness and they need extentions, lashes, nails, ecetera. This is also used in the arts, performing on stage. ❤️🇵🇷
In the 60s and 70s falsies were very different, there were no lash extensions the way they are today. My mother modelled with Twiggy, they were with the same agency, and I can assure you, they find these lash looks ridiculouse.
A few years ago, I worked in a very busy Tourist-oriented booth where I could be in contact with over 400 people a day. One Afternoon, a nice older lady asked me if I knew that my Eyelashes were coming off? I grabbed the Mirror and there in the middle of my Forehead was my entire Fake Eyelash strip! It must have been there for hours!☺ I haven't worn Fake lashes ever since! Great video!😊
"if there's anything that will kill a lot of people is vanity" sadly YES!! i swear a lot of people out there don't realize how dangerous the things they are doing for "beauty" are!!
The science behind mascara brands has made so many leaps lately. I havent worn any falsies for years. There are brands that actually build on your natural lash without looking clunky, its magic.
@amberdavis7243 Sure! I was introduced to "Fibre (Fiber)" mascaras through Mac Magic Extension and Maybelline Lash Stilletto. There are SO many out there though. I will also suggest getting a nice lash curler if your lashes are straight like mine. Curl, apply mascara, et voila. ✨️ Enhanced eye lashes that still look real. 😍
@@CleoPhoenixRTyes I love fiber mascara because I have long curly lashes but they aren’t super thick so with mascara I look like I have falsies I’ve had people ask if my lashes are fake when I’m wearing mascara.
The Groucho Marx eyebrows as eyelashes look makes their eyes look so tiny. The whole point of thickening mascara and eyeliner is to emphasize and open up the eye. It isn't to make the focus the weird dead caterpillar on top of your eyes.
I was at my daughter’s school and a girl walked up behind me when I turned around I looked at her and she startled me. Her lashes look like these extreme lashes and they look ridiculous. I don’t know what makes people think. This looks good. They look like huge caterpillars glued to the eyelid.
As someone who works in the cornea transplants department... please don't put foreign bodies in your eye unless strictly necessary (even contacts, avoid them)
Thank you! I never could wear contacts, one jumped off my eye a minute after I left the opticians, and the contact jumped into a snowbank up here in Canada. Ugh, never again
Exactly. I've been using Jamaican black castor oil for my lashes, brows and edges for years. I really don't need it anymore. But it's a known remedy I don't get why some women prefer this route.
1:47 Twiggys lashes were beautiful and I get it’s your opinion but some lashes can be pretty and you shouldn’t judge makeup styles. And don’t get me wrong the super big lashes are hideous but they can be pretty in moderation.
I used to do my own lashes. At that time, many people asked me, if they are my own real lashes, and if they are, what serum I used. I felt so proud that my work looked so realistic that people had to ask.
An eye Dr. Made a video about the permanent effects of those lashes. The weight on your eyelids and the drop and sagging it will cause. Also that it limits your field of vision, which can be long term if you wear those lashes long enough.. not to mention the bacteria that builds up and the glue, etc. This trend, much like a lot of others, needs to go away.
I know you didn't just call Twiggy's iconic look hideous!! You're right about everything else though. I had no idea people were going that crazy with the extensions like how do they even see?
I don’t think Twiggy’s lashes were nearly as thick and crazy as the lashes seen in this video. Plus Twiggy’s wildest lashes were only meant for photo shoots. I can imagine the workout these girls eyelids must go through everyday!!
Sorry but the 6:40 woman was very unprofessional. The commentary was annoying tbh. It wasn’t that bad honestly, it could’ve been WAY worse. There is a way to educate and not be rude or nasty to your clients.
I despise these fuzzy slipper, Snuffleupagus lashes, but they keep getting worse! 11:28 that's the WORST case of blepharitis I've ever seen! Our Esthetics textbook didn't even go that far!!! Expert tip: Use a spoolie dipped in diluted baby shampoo every morning to clean the lash extensions and keep the lash mites at bay!
Same how I feel about nails. I worked in a daycare until recently and my fake nails would also get dirty quick when too long. Like stuff gets under em and I'd get them off a early
I started doing lash extensions about 3 months ago and i love them!!! I do the natural cat eye look and researched for lash tech extensively before landing at a tech who does my coworker’s lashes. She is a 45min drive away from me but i will not trust anyone else to do my lashes even if i save so much time and gas traveling to someone closer. I also religiously clean my lashes 2 times a day even though the recommended frequency is 1 times a day. Lash extension is beautiful but it comes with risk and it’s also like buying an expensive house or an expensive car, you need to invest the time and effort to keep it nice and clean!!!
If a professional says it's bad, and roasts the job, and can actively prove why, then they have every right to. People who do these should give their clients proper cleaning instructions, but I'm sure these are the same women who do discount botox, and veneers.
I get mine done, but I will wash my face well each day. If I have to pay for a new set each time oh well 🤷🏿♀️ I'd rather do that and keep my lashes as healthy as possible and cater to my superficial needs.
@@deltasaves me too I have a brush i take always, washes it always. The video third video went viral in the uk what she’s talking about is some people get their lashes done at the nail shop there’s always a lady at the side I’ve never gone to those shops but it went viral recently to those shops
And I take breaks too @@BusiswaG. That's the other thing folks don't do enough. I take 2 breaks each year, at least. I can't always pre book appointments, like now I got like 3 individuals on one eye and none on the other 😅 None of the lash artists I've gone to have been worried about my losing my own lashes and wish more people would do what I do. If you can't or won't take care of them, don't get them.
This is to all women out there. As a man I can tell you 100% that we do NOT care what you’re eyelashes look like and the bigger they are the worse they look. Honestly we laugh at women who walk around with these big ass eyelashes. As men we really appreciate the more natural that you look.
@ktvcartoons That's how I found out. I swelled so badly I couldn't pee. Had to go to the emergency room and was sooo embarrassed because I didn't know. 😅
That is absolutely dangerous, especially if these people are driving!. Did these people look in the mirror. They all have red eye's which means the dirt is not being removed from their eyes. Yes it will lead to "blindess" but definitely BLINDNESS. IF these lashes are that dirty, does that mean these women are not bathing everyday? Goodness!
I think classic sets are beautiful and can really look elegant. I’m not a fan of the super thick lashes, but if that’s what a person likes and it makes them feel beautiful, I say go for it. I won’t judge!
The amount of lash audacity and maturity I’ve had is insane. I used to wear these 25mm-30mm STRIP LASHES all the time during my sophomore year of highschool and I used to love them. But then when I got older,I wore shorter lashes (20mm) once and I never looked back. Now I usually wear 15mm lashes which are short but natural looking full lashes. Those large lashes fitted my big eyes but made me look INSANE.
Bad weaves, BBL, lip injections, fake boobs, wearing pajamas and fuzzy slippers as outerwear….in 2024, there is everything available to look like a cartoon of yourself, if desired.
I’ve been wearing lashes since I was 13 and I’m 29 now, I went through so many lash phases and I always tell women to avoid lash extensions for the sake of their eye health, I had an eye infection so bad it caused me to lose the muscle control over my left eye and I had a lazy eye for almost 2 years, but if they do want them, don’t get what everyone else has on social media, find a lash tech that specializes in lashes for YOUR eye shape. What’s crazy is back in high school and early college, people would always judge me for wearing lashes (thank God I’ve never had lash blindness) and those same girls that would talk about me have lashes like the girls in these videos. I’m convinced these women don’t have jobs or careers because Edited to say: just because you don’t have an eye infection NOW doesn’t mean you can’t get one. I got an eye infection years into wearing lashes.
I was a shot girl in the early 2000s and definitely wore the dramatic strip lashes IN THE BAR. Things got weird when girls started getting individuals that lasted for weeks, which meant they were going out in the civilian world with them. It was and still is so weird to me in the light of day and they've gotten bigger and crazier over the years.
Hair is to block dirt and germs and to protect the skin. So yes Eye lashes are going to collect the dirt and protect the eyes. They are damaging that natural origin of the Eye lashes. I wore them once because my friend convinced me to for a trip. I tore those things off. People use to ask me if my eyelashes were real and they were. After getting fake eyelashes, my eyelashes were never as thick as they use to be.
I'd be suspicious of that friend that talked you into it. If your natural eyelashes were already thick and mistaken for fake. You're friend may have been jealous and knew that they'd never be the same after. I could be wrong. But if that kind of "friend" tried to talk me into doing another single thing to myself, the answer would be "No! End of subject!". Not falling for another one.
@@coleengoodell7523 I thought it was weird when people would ask me that question. Now that I see that wearing fake eyelashes is a major on-going trend, now I kindof get it. It wasn't til they were gone, that I missed them 🥲
That was very educational. I never done artificial lashes, not even once wore a falsies and after this video - well maybe a one-time falsies for a very special occasion but no way I'm doing anything more! Many things I didn't even know about and I do now so thank you very much!
The cumbrellas have GOT to end! They're not cute! 😂 (Not to mention the Demodex mites that are prob in there, IYKYK ... if you don't, you're going to be scared when you look up what Demodex are bc most of the population have them 😵💫).
The lashes are ugly. However, that lash tech that was dragging that lady for her dirty lashes was VERY unprofessional. She could’ve gotten her point across about hygiene in a better manner. That was not ok.
She’s up here talking about look how dirty it is and yall need to clean your eyelashes like gluing stuff to your eye is sooo good for you. I’m glad doctors are exposing this lash trend. You can get an infection with this crap on your eyes.
