Yeah it was kind of sad that the servers of transformers the fall of Cybertron to me I actually watch Jobbie flashes videos when I was a little kid ever kind of funny but now I feel sad that it’s gone emotional damage for the transformers fans
To me probably one of my favorite transformers is Triptycoh One of my favorite transformHe is large he is basically the transformer version of GodzillaBasically a City and transform ginormous that’s Basically Godzilla he is massive
When I was a kid in the early 2000's, my dad gave me a DVD collection with the entire Generation 1 series, a copy of the 1986 movie, and his childhood toy of G1 Soundwave. I think for about an entire year of my childhood that series was all I would watch and I transformed that Soundwave so much it unfortunately broke. I absolutely loved the series and that toy, and it has led to a life long love of this whole franchise. Even the parts of it I'm not a huge fan of still have a soft spot in my heart. Watching this retrospective made me emotional, and I'm about to shed a tear seeing how the Transformers has evolved and lasted for so long. Even though I wasn't born in the 80s, Generation 1 was still my introduction to this franchise and seeing just how far it has come is insane. Thank you so much for making these, they're some of the best videos on this platform. Transformers Superior
I had a similar experience. My mum's boyfriend at the time gave me his G1 Compendium, which featured every character from the G1 Show and Movie; as well as their bios, stats, catchphrases etc etc. I wasn't as big into the Transformers as I am now, until the first Bay film. Then I went onto Animated, Prime, RiD, WFC and so on. It's probably my most treasured piece of Transformers history I own now. The book is sadly falling apart nowadays, but I still love reading it from time to time.
We got the same dad? My dad got me the entire G1 series and my mom got me the G1 movie, but for me this was in 2010 after the first movie was out, when I was 7 yrs old, I watched that show every night before bed lol
Honestly, I watched the first episode when it released and it just didn’t really draw me in. I then forgot about it until this video dropped today. I’ll have to watch it once I finish my current reread of the IDW comics
My favorite show so far. My only complait about that show was how Windblade was slowly being phased out during season 2 and season 3. She's my favorite character
Starscream was beaten pretty brutally. Cyberverse was not afraid to throw punches like this. I mean damn…I think Megatron mostly beat them just to take out is anger and hatred on them. Still props to Megatron for taking a note from animated Megatron and actually or at least seemingly killing Starscream
Seriously dude…all of these retrospectives were incredible. I was obsessed from Mission Impossible to these about Transformers. I love your enthusiasm, chronicled events and attention to detail.
Man Cyberverse was good. Could you imagine how great it could've been if they were given 20 minute episodes? More space to breathe and flesh out characters.
I just finished all 4 episodes of your Transformers retrospectives and I appreciate how in depth you went with all the series and movies. While a lot of TF fans bicker and complain about certain aspects of the franchise, at the end of the day we’re all fans of the same thing. Robots in disguise.
I can't believe we've made it. Again, your video editing and commentary on a series, especially a series that you love, goes unnoticed. I hope you get to make more videos like this and I hope your videos get recognized! Keep making them!!
I have to say this is one of the best retrospectives and I have ever seen. It's incredibly comprehensive, entertaining, informative. I am amazed at how you do such a good job of narrating, and adding clips from the various shows and movies and comic books. Your love of the franchise shows, but you don't come off as just the fanboy, you come off as an expert on the subject. Absolutely impressive and enjoy listening to all of these!
I watched all four videos. As a kid who watched every episode of G1 as it aired and held on through beast wars, it was cool to see the rest of my childhood friends and where they evolved over the years. Thank you for this. It was very detailed and very good!
I've just spent the better half of my week watching this in bits and let me just say, this is one of the most informative, enjoyable and enlightening retrospectives I've ever watched. I'm not usually one for the really long video essays and whatnot, but as a fan of the 'Golden Age' of Transformers, I had to watch this. You've now inspired me to go back and rewatch all the old shows I would usually turn a blind eye to and I just can't thank you enough for this love letter to our favourite multi-platform franchise. Not to mention your extraordinarily cohesive formatting of almost 10 hours of content and your very relieving humour throughout which even made me chuckle aloud at times. Seriously an underrated channel and I can't believe your MCU retrospective has more views than this... perhaps I ought to go watch that too. Anyway, just wanted to thank you again and apropos for such a high quality piece of entertainment for all of us Transformers fans.
I literally watched all three episodes before this, and so far I'm loving this last episode- I was so hyped up for this, I watched the Star Wars retrospective and three out of the four marvel retrospectives to pass the time! I really love your retrospective style, but i wont get into exactly why because everyone else has explained it way better than i could. gotta say though, keep up the good work!
I loved this Retrospective. The editing was top notch, conveyed every amount of information flawlessly, the narration was relaxed but still interesting. I only wish you covered the IDW Comics a little more.
I can't believe how underrated this is. Outstanding coverage that not only covered a franchise I liked but unlocked an even deeper appreciation. Your love of the Transformers really shows. Hoping to see you again in my subscription feed.
You, my friend, were THE reason I got NOTHING done yesterday (besides digging out my 'formers (gotta abbreve, bc I'm terribly pressed for time!)) and in turn tearing up and scowling depending on which of your FOUR video chapters I was watching! Well done. WELL done.
The aligned continuity was the generation that truly got me into transformers. Prime made me care about all of the characters present. In a way that not even the clone wars could. I’m incredibly thankful for the aligned continuity. I think it deserves an entry into the hall of fame.
Man binging this series felt amazing. Actually getting so much context for everything and having some interesting places to maybe dive into the series I didn’t grow up with. Thank you so much for all of this and all the amazing work
caught up with this video series! i have loved every second of these videos, they’ve been so informative and well made and i’m excited to jump back into some transformers media from my childhood now that i’ve been put in the mood. incredible stuff, thank you
These were great videos! Thank you very much for making these they were great to watch. See you in another like 5- 10 years to assess what's been happening for transformers in the years
Wow. I just watched all 4 of your TF episodes... in one day! 10 hours... phew! I am still scarred from Prime dying - the first time. I saw it in the theater when I was a kid - "devastating" doesn't even cover it. Crestfallen... shaken to my core - it made me doubt the world I lived in. When they brought him back, it was the best day ever - especially bc it was a surprise. I didn't realize it was only 6 months later. Let me tell you, it didn't feel like 6 months. It was an eternity. I like TF ok, but your passion for this is contagious. It was a pleasure to hear you talk about them, and I look forward to your upcoming TF content. Keep it up!
“Short and concise” Me who just sat through like 10 hours of a transformers documentary: yeah sure... Jokes aside this was a very enjoyable series of videos and very informative
Great commentary. This is a nice hands-on documentary. Have to take exception though to your view on war for Cybertron. There was a lot to like in the trilogy and it nicely recapped allot of different series. I think many received it better than you think.
I watched all four of your videos. My goodness. You did an amazing job. I was 12 in 1984. It was at a time of great positive events in my life. I was instantly inspired and hooked. I have been and always will be a purist from that beginning. I greatly appreciated your in depth reviews of all of the series and video games. I knew of them but didn’t know anything about the stories or characters. It was an awesome history lesson for me. As for the live-action movies, I was with you and fans all the way from love to hate to meh and back again. I think the last two are a “reboot” and it’s needed. I liked your tips of what may be next. I’ll be off to my first BotCon in a couple weeks. Even though I’m a caricature of an old-timer like Kup in my passion of the old days, I feel a bit more on even ground with the young bots I’ll run into. Thank you for this incredible documentary.
With just that mention of Godzilla, I would love to see you do a Godzilla retrospective, but if you’re not that into Godzilla thats cool. Anyways another great vid :)
that would be amazing, but i think godzilla might be a massive endeavour, i mean its nearly 70 years old with god knows how much media involved, still id happily watch that
Wow what an Awesome Retrospective Series! I enjoyed all of it and learned something on the Way!^^ I first got introduced to this Franchise with the First Bay Film but what held me was Animated and The Aligned Continuity was the One i grew up with the Most. As i got older i looked more into the Franchise, getting to know G1, Beast Wars, Recently Armada and i want to see even more. I collect the Figures (mostly Third Party MP) and enjoy everything about it. TransFormers is and always will be my Favourite Franchise of all Time. The Fact that this Toy commercial in 1984 turned out to be one of the Best Story or rather stories in existence, still blows my mind. What is there left to say except... TILL ALL ARE ONE!
1:40:45 brooooooooooo, here i am watching transformers videos in the background playing destiny and outta nowhere this guy drops "nessus from destiny 2" thought i was sleep deprived n TRIPPIN HARDDD watched all these retrospectives over the last 2 days n as a really big transformers fan i appeciate the hard work and love the videos
I think of that moment at the end of TLK where Optimus Prime waves to the camera as he walks in to the sunset alot. Then he says "It is time to go home." The whole thing has a sense of finality you don't get in most franchise. Also I'm a sucker for moments where series literally say goodbye to the audience
Old audience may have exit.. But Upcoming Transformers movies for this new generation is in its way.. Transformers future is all depends on Rise of The Beasts..
Whew! What a journey. After reaching the brilliant end of this in depth exploration of the transformers retrospective, I only have one short thing to say. "Soundwave, superior. 'Most' transformers adaptations, Inferior."
Transformers was by far my favorite toy as a child and it was largely because of the cartoon and the mythology behind it. Thanks for the excellent video essay about it.
Holy hell dude. FANTASTIC WORK! I'm a new-ish Transformers fan. When I was a little kid (5 y/o) my dad introduced me to the franchise with the 2007 Michael Bay movie, and my love for the franchise grew from there. I borrowed a disc set of all 4 seasons and the og movie of Gen 1, got a bunch of different toys n such (a few of which I have packed away... somewhere), and checked in every now and then on new stuff as it came out. Seeing this video series cover so much stuff that I wasn't even aware of astounds me that this funny little cartoon sparked so many different takes on its lore is amazing! I look forward to a part 5 of this series, presuming it ever comes to be after a few years. Till All Are One!
All these videos were great. My fav on this one was pointing out the Bumblebee call back to the G1 intro. I remember seeing it in theatres and liking it and thinking I'd seen it somewhere. Totally forgot till just now.
Your retrospective are always a blast to watch. It's really cool to get a retrospective of not just the material, but the world surrounding that material and how it was received
This is a fantastic retrospective video series. I just finished watching all 4 episodes. I learned so much. I appreciate all the hard work researching, scripting writing, and editing. Fantastic job! I was entertained throughout. Thank you.
Man these were quite the ride! one of the best, if not the best retrospectives I've ever seen, highly comprehensive with ton's of detail! Most of all, there's never a boring moment. I subbed man, looking forward to more!
Just watched all four complete retrospectives in last 3 days while working on my content. What a journey that was, especially when i did not known much about transformers except for all G1 stuff (my youth) and first 3 Bay movies. Now I need to watch Bumblebee and perhaps "cyberverse". Congratulations on this, I can imagine how long it took you to put all this together.
This is the most Comprehensive synopsis of the Transformers franchise that I have ever seen. Even though I was born in 2000 my first introduction to transformers was the 1980 cartoon this will forever be my favorite franchise till the day I die. Thank you so much for making this! Spread the word Till All Are One!!
One of the best videos I have ever watched, this whole series on transformers has made me love it even more wich I didn't think was possible. 10/10 wfc/foc forever
I love that you say there are so many good ideas to mine in Transformers, then show a huge transformer. Look at all the stuff they could have done, they could have made a super Transformer.
Well. That was an amazing 9 hours of transformers.. thank you Prime of Grammar. Now its time to sleep. But rest assured I will be checking out some of the later series that came out, especially Cyberverse. Not BotBots though. No. No indeed.
Age of extinction, robots in disguise 2015 and last knight was when my interest in transformers started to die down, though I can see why people would like them.
Nah bruh I didn't want this to end 😭😔. You think in 5 years or so you could make a part 5? I've yet to come across any other channel with as much love and dedication to document an entire franchise in video format like this. Definitely subbed!
This is a fantastic body of work - I learned as much as I enjoyed. Thanks for making them - you certainly didn't cut any corners. I'm sure I'll refer back to them often. Cheers!
I spent the last 24 hours binging your channel. You are admittedly biased towards the content, but still manage to review things in such a neutral and objective way, it's been so edutaining watching. Keep up the good work, scorponok is the best track of all the movies and anyone who says differently... I'll take their face.
Transformers is the best franchise. The franchise has so much diversity in its content. The franchise has some of the best mediums ever. The IDW comics are so refreshing after reading a ton of superhero comics. There a multiple games of the franchise w different genres that are mostly great. Want a shooter? Go to the Cybertron games. Want a hack and slash game? Devastation (the dmc 4 of Platinum Games). Want a free roam kind of game? Go to the first 2 movie games. Multiple shows for everyone to sink their teeth too and they dont need to be held back by continuity bc they're all (except aligned) separate and have their own distinct style. Hell I grew up w 4 generations of transformers. G1, first bayverse movie, Unicron trilogy, and animated. These were my introduction to franchise. I wish we see more of transformers in the future bc its genuinely that good.
I swear, I'm the only person who really liked Age of Extinction. Not as much as Dark of The Moon, but certainly more than RoTF and TLK; and probably as much as '07. Bumblebee though? That's enough Bee-ast entirely.
It is a nice to look back at the franchise. I remember catching the last appearance of Beast Wars and Beast Machines, seeing RiD and the Unicron trilogy every once and a while, Transformers Prime and War for Cybertron bringing me into the brand, Bumblebee reintroducing me to thus franchise and reigniting my love for this franchise and fandom. Thank you for the effort put into each part and truly showing how the fandom and franchise felt at every turn, for those who were there, and those who were not. ... so part 5 when?
This is now one of my favorite retrospective documentary series here on RU-vid! You are right, Transformers is the best franchise of all time, for all its highest highs and its deepest lows, I love most of the brand regardless. You know what would've made this last part perfect? If you had a post-credit scene where you realized that you forgot to talk about Kiss Players only to come to the swift conclusion that the world is better without it anyways. A possible retrospective for the DC Extended Universe (including "The Dark Knight Trilogy", or just DC movies in general) would be awesome to see, as besides Transformers and the MCU right now, DC has to be my favorite brand, and the Zack Snyder movies have been my all-time favorite superhero movies. As I am a German viewer of your channel, I'd like to point out that I cannot see parts 2 and 3 of your MCU retrospective as they contain footage for Iron Man 3, which distribution rights and copyright here in Germany belong to the "Tele München Fernseh GmbH + Co. Produktionsgesellshaft VOD" (in English known as the "Tele Munich TV GmbH + Co. Production company VOD") who - for some stupid reason - block all videos containing footage from Iron Man 3 nationwide. That really sucks. I'd normally ask if you can do something about it, but other creators have stumbled onto the same problem, which is why I humbly ask you if you can provide access to your videos elsewhere where I can see them without them getting blocked. Aside from that, I really enjoyed your series, and I hope for the best for you and your channel's future, because as of right now, it look a really bright for you. Again, thank you.
Great series! TFwiki is an immense source of Transformers information, and McFeely’s channel is informative as well. As a Transformers fan from g1 back in ‘84, it’s great to someone who’s not from that age group put together such a comprehensive collection. Thumbs up.
Prime's Theater I love your videos so much! Seeing you explain all kinds of transformers media... AMAZING EDIT: Now I realize that I've watched almost 10hrs of transformers and boy was it good!
Man, I just watched your entire retrospective, thank you for this. You gave some positive reviews for the new cartoons I've been thinking about watching and now I will.
I've only just found your channel a week ago while this may sound stupid, watching your Transformers Complete Retrospective series has honestly been the best thing ive experienced this entire year. To say i've been through a lot this year is an understand and transformers has been apart of life from as early as 4 years old to now im 28 and im still watching this stupid IP so watching this series of videos brought tears to my eyes. I know you're a nerd just doing what you love making videos but I hope you also know that your content (especially this retrospective series you've made) has impact because it definitely impacted me. So thank you
Robots that can turn into vehicles is THE BEST answer to alot of MOBA game problems. Not only can you turn into your own transportation around the map, but you can become a fighting robot with all the utility to interact with the environment. i hope the next big video game follows the cybertron wars entry, if i remember correctly that was the one that let you customize and "create" your own transformer.
