In Florida you always use a wire leader. If it's not a puffer fish cutting your line with its beak, it's razor-like barnacles that the larger warm water fish naturally attempt to seek shelter in.
I've been fishing in Florida all my life.. I've only used wire leader when shark fishing.. He's fishing in freshwater so there isn't barnacles OR puffer fish.
This was after a day of fishing at the pier and since they didn't catch anything he decided to goof around in the back yard. He is a great deep sea fisherman, He once caught a 6ft. sailfish on a drift boat while other boats where using balloons to try to catch one.
I think that's a bluegill that he caught, not a tilapia. Bluegills have bodies that are more or less similar to the tilapia but they tend to be smaller in shape and size.
To me this looked like the brackish waters of the canals, where there is all that stuff I mentioned. If this is not the case... well, it looks like this was a non-serious video anyway, so no need to get all puffer fish on me. :)
His acting like his an expert fisherman and knows a lot at fishing, but no his just a noob fisherman who think his a pro, like whats with the talking at 0:27
