This week's street debate is in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, where Edith Kimani is speaking to young people about how high-cost weddings are ruining the lives of young families. Africans spend millions every year on wedding services. From the guests, to the food, the dress and even dowry payments: The cost of a wedding can quickly snowball, especially if you already have a large family. But once the big day is finally over many young couples find themselves stuck in a cycle of debt. So are high-cost weddings really worth it? Or do African families need to adjust their expectations and plan more for the future? Join the debate by dropping your thoughts into the comment section below
