Saw him about 10 years ago.....was just like this........mom and I couldn't even look at each other......front row, small venue.......cried and cried for about 40 minutes.......powerful.

2021 6.3 the best version of this ended up on The cutting room floor from the movie honeysuckle Rose where Willie and Emmylou Harris performed it. You can hear a couple minutes of it and then there is dialogue from the movie and the song appears nowhere in the soundtrack. I think that was a crime against nature.

Too bad you don’t understand how beautiful the cadence that Willie sing with is. He truly uses his voice as an instrument of Jazz. Anyone can sing on the beat, but it takes a true musician to master singing amongst it, and give space to the music.
