You gotta remember Till experienced that tough training when he was young as a swimmer training for the Olympics. He left after getting a head injury in an accident. From Till: “The real reason I stopped being a professional swimmer was that I had an accident. It happened at my father’s house in the country. The building was very old and had very low doors. I hit the door jamb with full force and suffered an extremely severe concussion as well as trauma and internal bleeding. Then I had to lie down for a long time. I also received psychological care, was in a mental hospital in Rostock and took various language tests there. My family and I took this event as an opportunity to end my swimming career. We were able to sign a termination agreement - that was a very difficult time"
@@Asta453 heres some more quotes from the same interview Swimming practice is a pretty lonely, monotonous thing compared to the collective experience of a show. Till, what do you think about when you do laps? Till: My days are full of appointments, so while I’m swimming I often think about what needs to be done in the next few hours, who I have to call, how the evening plan looks like, etc. I’ve already made up a number of Rammstein lyrics while training. ‘Feuer und Wasser’, for example, is such a “swimming pool song”. That sounds like relaxed work - but most musicians develop their ideas in extreme emotional situations… Till: Psychologists call this phenomenon “the sublimation of drives”. If a person is feeling bad, he has to deal with it somehow. Some people then hit pensioners. But it is better if someone converts this negative emotion into a creative process. It doesn’t matter whether it ends up being a picture or a song. In your opinion, can a completely happy person be creative? Till: Sure, because happiness is also an instinct. Or a kind of addiction, an addiction to harmony. When feelings boil over extremely high, you have to deal with it somehow. Or you take it out on a woman - in a good way, of course. When are you more productive - when you’re happy or unhappy? Till: I must be heartbroken. But of course I don’t really want to feel like that.

"Sport frei!" was a slogan/ chant that was said in the beginning of a training session at school or sport club in the GDR. Also even, if you made a ton of money, it only compensates living with a broken body, lots of pain, as a lot of professional athlete experience, up to a certain point. The price is quite high. Can't wait for your reaction to 'Tanzlehrerin- dance teacher'. 😊 With love from Germany 🤘🏻 ❤
