If you didn't get enough of Bromeliaceae last week, then you're in luck-we're back with the Bromeliaceae Master, Eric Gouda. This time, however, we don't just cover Tillandsia, but have a look into other genera within the Bromeliaceae.

Summer, you're a really really fantastic interviewer. It really helps that you're very knowledgeable and asked intriguing questions that I really want to know the answers to. It's an eye opener for me. I've grown tillies for a decade now and finally get to see a proper interview of Mr. Eric Gouda. Thank you again for the efforts!

Such a wealth of information on these fascinating plants . I bought my first few tillandsias a couple of years ago , left them alone on the patio nestled in other plants ; they have taken care of themselves all this time. I was so impressed with them that I’ve given them their own place to be appreciated , and bought two more ( T. Ionantha brac & T. Harrisii ) after watching part 1. I definitely will be seeking out more of these.

This was fascinating! Strange to say, but plants seem so much more alive now! They are far more complex in their behavior than I ever imagined!

Wow such wealth of knowledge. Absolutely awe inspiring to keep looking for more varieties of Tillandsia’s to grow at home. Thank you both.

Nice tour.........Botanists are humble because they know whatever the diversity they study and learn is just a fraction of the diversity they don't know......

You are such a inspiration to me, everything you do speaks volumes and your passions shows through in everything you do. I wish you well in every dream you want to follow and every action you take, may you be blessed in life. I pray one day I’ll be able to shake your hand and tell you all of these things in person. Until then, I am a admirer and supporter from afar (Texas). ❤️

I didn't know that few Tillandsias live along with ants. Ants may be beneficial for other plants. Even succulents which I once had exhibited better growth when ants established their home on the underside of the pot (through the drainage hole). They aerated the soil and brought in nutrients. However, one should be careful not to allow too much soil to drain through the hole and leave the roots exposed. I grew Tillandsias many years ago, and back then they seemed to live their lives in slow motion, hardly growing if at all, and responding very slowly to cultivation. The narrow and thin leaves underneath the silvery trichomes often made it difficult to spot a dead plant. However, this video and its previous episode are shedding some light on how to grow them. There are two Tillandsias which I currently have and hopefully will get better results this time.

Help! I just noticed I have spider mites all over my plants... they are indoors, I've tried spraying with alcohol/water mixture but it killed the leafs of the plant I tested it on... I'm at a loss, I don't know if I can try anything harsh because my cat likes to nibble on my plants when I'm not looking...

While the gardener describe the plant, I think it better to focus the camera on the plant, anyway we hear them but it's better to what are they talking about. Thank you

Strange but true.. I think I know both of you ... I bouth my first Tillandsia and google a little... what a strange situation... finding one grown up girl and a little boy. This story let me far and away in time. My grandad know a man with a big terrarium and another with a new home... a row of homes that had to be rebuilded... or sort of. I will follow you ... on youtube. Hoping to meet you in the future. If there are a way to contact you and share what I remember please tell me.
