Ballard always made my skin crawl. His ego bursts out of the too tight muscle shirts and pants he wears. He's pimped his "Tim" necklace/medallion on every outlet that will have him and it always ends with him wanting more money. I laughed out loud while watching segments of his' Abolitionist' "film". What a con artist.

Good lord !!!! Putting together the Boy Scouts situation, The Chad Daybell situation, the Jodi Hidebrandt sitatuion, and others, and looking at the web of connection, this is going to some deep and dark places. Many years ago, I read a series of books/ novels, written by Frank E. Peretti : "This present Darkness", "Piercing the Darkness", and "Prophet" They might be well worth reading . Especially those connected to the Mormon Church and at all aware of these cases now coming up. Anyway, just a suggestion. Whatever one wants to think it is abundantly clear this is not about just one person....or just a few. Thank you RFM for continuing to dig into this. The hole goes deep. 🙏

I've read "Piercing the Darkness." While I believe there are demonic forces, having seen the eyes of men who appear possessed or perhaps innately evil, and having seen some other strange things on the other than perceived-as-physical level, there are just a lot of bad men in top-down authoritarian institutions. We might be talking about central banking or something like Enron, but then throw this authoritarian perversely sex-obsessed religion into that authoritarian hierarchy and make women lower than dirt, lower than their male children and then you get something like Mormonism. I'd suggest reading Machiavelli, specifically on the combination of religion and tyranny.

Thom Harrison and Visions of Glory, as well as "The Isaiah Institute" is how all of these are connected. Basically Thom Harrison got his ideas from the Isaiah Institute and "counseled" people such as Tim Ballard, Jodi Hildebrandt and Chad Daybell. This is not going to stop until someone takes them down. I fear that not being LDS could present as permission for violence against them(in-group/out-group, “those” people, etc). And they’re broke so they likely can’t afford the security necessary to protect all of their family members, friends, work colleagues, etc… from violent (religious) extremists. I hope the fact that so many people pressing charges will provide some “safety in numbers”, and I hope their local police aren’t like the Promise Keepers.

I just looked up "Promise Keepers." Yikes! Thanks for throwing that in to your comment. I'm going to read some more. There is a smugness among Mormons because they believe themselves somehow chosen to know the one and only truth, which is Mormonism.
@wolfpowers36
@wolfpowers36 11 месяцев назад
The description of Promise Keepers is much like Mormonism: Promise Keepers is an organization of fundamentalist Christian men who promise to keep their wives and daughters in servitude. Women are expected to obey their husbands, their male professors and male employers. Even if women can see that the men have made mistakes, the women should carry out their orders and leave it to God to put things right." That is from their Wikipedia page. In Mormonism women are to obey men. Of course, the women will still be blamed for everything. Nonetheless, this expectation of obedience of women to men persists. This extends to female children and obedience to men. What a lovely organization to grow up in as a young girl--I know. And I escaped as soon as I became an adult and went far away to the big, wicked city and didn't go back home until my family finally left the Church, too.

AND the fact that the woman this lawsuit seems to concern, used no discernment. Isn't that in itself a biblicat value to have? Although it seems she struggled with the option of going on an operation such as the ones Tim had initiated, it would ALSO seem that, being a Christian, that she would have had a strong hunch that not only would she was not "qualified" to go on this operation, but when he apparently mentioned already that she would have to be part of a "couples' ruse", why then didn't she decline and tell him to find someone else more able for the position? So that's where my doubts come in, It's almost like she rendered herself powerless to turn it down, which I don't think is the case. But, you have to know that Mormons and Mormon men are masters at manipulating and Tim, in his "getting to know" this woman phase, found all of her vulnerabilities and used them against her. The CIA recruits from BYU's campus in Utah because the people are programmed and programmable and understand how to use whatever existing programming a person has. For instance, someone who went to Catholic school as a child would have certain programming and that can be used to manipulate them. If a person had something else in their personal history, he would be able to use this.

However, it’s strange to me that he says at first TB spiritually manipulated the wife, but then said at the end that the spiritual manipulation doesn’t work on them because they’re not LDS. His wife just sounds like a hoochie. It’s not as easy to groom a grown-ass woman as it is a child, and if an adult has normal boundaries (as a 30 or 40-something definitely should), none of those things could have happened. Manipulating people is not generally a crime. Women need to speak up, stop being so obedient, and stay firm to their values. I feel bad for this man, but his wife wouldn’t have had a problem with any type of personality, even as toxic as described here, if she had a solid moral compass. Really tragic, if it’s at all true.

I'm looking at this objectively..There were decisions made. She is an adult, right? Why couldn't she have said, "This doesn't feel right. Maybe I shouldn't be participating in this, if I am feeling this uncomfortable." Or perhaps even graciously decline the invitation from the start. This wouldn't be the first time someone has turned down a job or project, based on the comfortabiltiy factor of it. There had to have been others who HAD turned down the job of going on an operation. So why not this woman -- and that is, IF this actually did happen the way she claims it did? Isn't there discernment in there, somewhere? She did say she is Christian. So it seems that it would have been a concern in itself for her to be agreeeing to go on this operation. Why not think about the ramifications of your actions when you have a husband and children at home? So there are a lot of holes in this story. And I doubt very much one person could do everything that they claim Tim did. By claiming that, they've given one person too much power over their lives -- as if they themselves as able-bodied adults were completely powerLESS. That is why I have a hard time buying that story. Any man who loved his wife would have gotten her out of a situation like that; even if he had to risk his OWN life. THAT IS, if the situation was true.

Hmmmm. Honestly, from both stories it sounds like Tim is a creep. Yes. But it also sounds like the wife isnt telling everything. She was unhappy with first marriage, so she did a 180 and went for the boring man. Then she got caught up chasing excitement again with OUR. What Tim did was wrong, he evaluated the vulnerability of a women who may have indicated interest in him and strung her along. But....

@TEAM__POSEID0N
@TEAM__POSEID0N 11 месяцев назад
That's the impression I got throughout, based on both statements. At some point early on, unless his wife has the IQ of a brick, the "it's for the children" thing should have stopped working, unless she wanted to use it as an excuse for bad behavior too. Tim was the stereotypical, quintessential "bad boy" that attracts some women like bright lights attract moths. Every time that guy apologized for being suspicious, apologized for not being totally agreeable, constantly made excuses for his wife being under Tim's influence...I had to restrain the urge to smack my own head in frustration. The guy is seriously in denial. The fact that he also pretended that it was his wife who was paying for Tim's activities and her dates with Tim ("for the children"), when it was really him, the husband, who was directly or indirectly, since he apparently was on the hook for the CC debt too...just makes him all the more pathetic. The wife was clearly into it and was enjoying Tim's James Bond/Bond Girl fantasy just as much as Tim was, if not more so. Playing the role of the reluctant cheater for a good cause, always saying something like "well, if it's for the children..." is ridiculous. She was constantly taking Tim's side, contrary to all the mounting evidence and so many red flags that her life with Tim must have looked like a CCP rally in Beijing. She even turned her own family against her real husband to "protect Tim" (and actually her long-running affair with Tim). The sad sap husband also found out quite quickly how much he really wasn't considered "family" by her family. (That said, since the sad sap was constantly apologizing to everyone for things he shouldn't have apologized for, he was his own worst enemy.) He's that terrible thing that no decent man wants to be in a marriage with a woman he loves....namely "just a good provider" while the wife longs to be with a "bad boy" for excitement...a good provider who will help pick up the pieces after her exciting adventures with the "bad boy" come to their inevitable nasty end. I don't know if there's much hope for their marriage in reality. The trust is broken. But this sad sap also seem like the type who will just strap blinders on and sweep everything under the rug, if she'll play along and pretend like she really loves him...until she meets the next "bad boy"...then it will just be another rinse-and-repeat cycle.

If I were on a jury, just by reading these one-sided husband and wife statements, I'm not sure where I'd end up. Did Tim Ballard groom this woman? 100%. But this story makes it sound like the woman had a consensual affair and is now trying to pick up the pieces of a shattered life and only turned on Ballard when she realized either a) She was not the only woman Ballard was seeing or b) she saw she was never gonna get paid. I would not be the least bit surprised if AA actually turned out to be Natasha, the woman that made a video as an operative saying that everything Ballard had done was appropriate. The husband's statement makes it pretty clear that this was an affair. Rather than use burner phones as other women had on ops, this husband was able to find convos about blowjobs on her regular phone and on her iCloud account which makes this relationship seem more intimate and logistically challenging to use burners or delete messages with any frequency. Side note: The lack of penetration in all these statements sure shows Tim's Mormon rationalizations creeping out. I mean the 'oral isn't sex' defense is something he shoulda left at BYU 25 years ago.

I think we all need to look at all charities and start to scrutinize how they work and how people get paid and how much goes to the cause. If true, this is very unfortunate for this couple and the other 5 women. Hopefully, they can find a way to heal from this underrated abuse. Sure seems like we need more awareness and "training" from cult like "leaders" who are master manipulators and masters at lying for their own gain. They're great at hiding both from their victims. Best to not underrate their intentions. Everyone can be negatively influenced by them, and can be a hard thing to admit to. Best to be humble with our ability to be able see through their lies. As a wise mentor has said, "all we have against people like this is our humility, as it works like a radar detector on the roads."

Sadly, it does seem like they're trying to save money on legal fees or something. I'm getting "fresh out of law school" attorney vibes from the quality of work indicated in the filings. Hopefully, for the plaintiffs' sake, it will be enough to get the cases initiated and the quality will improve going forward. The statements sound more appropriate for press releases aimed at swaying public opinion (and they do a good job at portraying TB as a nasty piece of work). But for the more analytically minded public and for the purposes of determining liability in court, they're really going to have to up their game with regard to supplying objectively verifiable factual evidence. Maybe they're actually angling for an early settlement.

Reading between the lines, if he still has all of the phone message texts, witnesses and so on, he may have enough for an alienation-of-affection claim against TB and the people who knowingly worked with TB on that "project". His wife probably doesn't have much of a claim for herself, unless she can prove that she's a gullible moron who should be regarded by the court as a vulnerable child herself who was preyed upon by TB. That would be an interesting angle. TB taking s e xu al advantage of adults who are mentally in the same position as vulnerable children...and doing so in the name of rescuing vulnerable children.
